Chapter 903: Comeback?
A big hole had appeared in Jayden’s chest. Nexus and the Weaver maintained the lock over Jayden’s consciousness as they channelled a vast amount of energy towards him, while Chronicler and Energizer got ready to launch more attacks toward him.
Jayden’s eyes were clouded by a fog, making them appear completely white. Despite the serious injury, he remained frozen, fighting a different battle inside his head, his energy weakening rapidly.
"Go and finish him immediately. Your next read is at NovelBin.Côm
It won’t be easy for him to escape the trap we both had set, but we should take care of him before he wakes, or it would be a little more troublesome," the Weaver shouted, channelling more and more energy without holding back.
The Chronicler and the Energizer nodded in agreement. Without wasting a moment, both of them flew toward Jayden at such a speed that it seemed they had teleported right in front of him.
Both of them pulled back their right hands and filled them with enough energy that, once Jayden was struck with it, his body would be torn to pieces.
More and more energy gathered around their fists as they remained still for a few seconds. Then, with loud cries, their hands shot toward Jayden, aiming to kill him with a single blow.
BOOOOM BOOOOM
Their fists tore through the space as they moved at lightning speed, but before their attacks could collide with his body, Jayden’s hands flashed as, in an instant, he caught their fists just when they were a few inches away from him.
A strong ripple moved through the air. Jayden’s body remained completely still as an even stronger layer of world energy covered his hands, completely blocking both attacks, as his fingers sank into their flesh, black blood gushing out of their wounds.
"!!!" The Chronicler and the Energizer were shocked. They looked at Jayden’s face and saw his eyes still seemed to be covered by the same white fog, and he was still unconscious. They both moved back and pulled their hands away from Jayden’s grasp.
"Did he already get out of your trap? Can you do one simple task properly?" the Chronicler spoke, anger evident in his voice as he glanced back at the Weaver and the Nexus.
"No, we still have his consciousness trapped, and he is still inside that illusion. Even the time there is slowed, so there is no way he could get out of that trap so easily," the Weaver said, his hands fixed in front of his chest as he held the web he had created earlier tightly.
"Was it a reflexive motion, then? Something like that shouldn’t be possible. What kind of trickery is he using now?" the Nexus pondered, his already ugly face distorting further.
Jayden’s hands were still raised in front of him as he remained frozen, while the guardians just stared at him and tried to find the cause behind his action.
Taking a long breath, Jayden finally moved as he pulled his hands back, and his lips curled up. He raised his right hand, moving his fingers through his smooth white hair.
"Well, well, look who’s back!!" He raised his face slightly, as his fingers moved through his hair, the colour of his previously white hair suddenly changed to purple.
Then Jayden turned his gaze toward the guardians, looking over them, and finally looked down at his chest, where he saw a gaping hole.
"Oh, haven’t I developed some strange fashion? But finally, a hole big enough for my ego to fit through," he chuckled. In the next instant, the wound on his chest healed, and even the black cloth returned to its original length.
"Nice to meet you all. I am Haughty, but you can call me Jay." Finally, Jay focused his gaze on the guardians and spoke with a smile that made them all feel uneasy.
When those two attacks had struck his mind, Jayden understood what they were planning, but it was too late to defend against it, so he forcefully broke a part of his consciousness and allowed it to control his body for now.
He chose the part of himself he could trust enough to not get overpowered by those guardians, though it might go a little overboard and is probably an overkill.
"What’s going on?" the Energizer spoke, as he pulled back even further since Jay’s energy was rising at a much faster rate than before.
"I am sure his consciousness is still trapped. He must have left a part of himself to temporarily control his body. You don’t have to worry about it.
Just a part of his consciousness is obviously going to be weaker than the whole thing. He would break just after a few attacks, so don’t give him any time," the Nexus said, while taking a couple of steps back.
Jay ignored their talk as he raised his arms on either side of his body and closed his eyes, stretching.
"Mmmm. Even though I have finally become one, being completely alone is definitely a nice change," he mumbled to himself. Then he opened his eyes and spoke to the guardians:
"Looks like we were having a party here. How about we play the game of tag? From now on, whoever gets caught will be spanked!!" While speaking, Jay raised his right hand. A baseball bat over a few meters long and several times thicker than normal appeared in his hand.
It was covered by purple lava. Sharp and pointy spikes were coming out of its surface, each being several inches long. Jay swung it around as an enormous amount of world energy traveled from the dimensional stone toward the bat.
Earlier, Jayden was still being careful to not use too much world energy. Even though his first attack was extremely powerful, he was still holding back greatly, but Jay didn’t care how much energy he was using.
He was using it almost like sand in a desert, but which also made the red liquid’s speed increase as it began to cover more and more parts of his body.
Satisfied with his creation, Jay turned his gaze toward the guardians, his smile twisted, giving him a devilish look as his purple hair fluttered. Even his pupils had turned purple.
While the guardians tried to make sense of Jayden’s words or actions, Jay let go of the bat as it simply floated in the air. Then he applied force to the space under his feet, making his surroundings tremble. The sound began to crackle around him as Jay applied more and more force.
BOOM-CRACK
With explosive speed, he shot forward, his speed so fast that his body instantly disappeared into the space distortion.
Only the thunderous laughter could be heard from all around the large white room.
Suddenly, everything was engulfed by darkness. But this darkness wasn’t just the absence of light— no; it seemed to have consumed the entirety of the room, making it difficult for the guardians to see anything properly for a few seconds.
Out of nowhere, Jay’s body flashed as he appeared in front of the stunned Energizer. His smile showed how much he was enjoying this moment, and his eyes held a haughty look.
"Got you!!"
