Chapter 846: Chapter 544: The Study and the Statue_1
Gazing at the dark and gloomy underground staircase, Leo Ray spoke to the elderly blacksmith: “Mr. Mason Banks, since your ancestor set up this magic mechanism, there must be a profound reason. Let’s go down and explore.”
“Yes, my Lord, it is also my intention.”
Bowing slightly to Leo Ray, Mason Banks stepped forward and said, “Let me lead the way. If there are any other hidden mechanisms or traps, I can disarm them in time.”
“Very well.”
Leo Ray nodded slightly, then spoke to the dragon girl beside him, “Scarlett follow closely behind Mr. Mason Banks to prevent any unexpected situations.”
“Yes sir! Please rest assured, Lord.”
...
With a crisp voice, Scarlett immediately nodded in response.
So, with Scarlett and Mason Banks leading the way.
Accompanied by the echoing footsteps, Leo Ray and his team of more than ten people followed the gloomy stairs downward.
In a short time, a dark and secret chamber came into view for everyone.
With the help of Star Pupil’s night vision effect, Leo Ray noticed that the area here was about seventy or eighty square meters, much smaller than the large forging space they had just seen.
The stone walls surrounding the secret chamber were not inlaid with Light Crystal Stones. Only in the corners were a few magic lampstands that had already rusted away.
“Guiding Light!”
At Leo Ray’s signal, the magic wand in Ariel Watson’s slender hand drew a dazzling line of light in the air.
Ten basketball-sized magic spheres subsequently rose from the top of the wand.
They swiftly flew to various parts of the room and hung high below the ceiling.
In an instant, the dark secret chamber was as bright as day.
Under the illumination of the magic spheres, Leo Ray noticed further details.
This seemed to originally be a study room.
Surrounding the room were many wooden bookshelves and cabinets that had been corroded by time.
In the innermost corner, there was a collapsed wooden desk and several broken chairs.
Leo Ray nodded slightly, and his gaze fell on the nearest wall.
Due to years of disrepair, these stone walls had water constantly seeping out of them.
With dripping sounds, small puddles formed at the base of the walls.
“It seems that the materials used for these cabinets and desks are not the magic wood from the Ancient Ship.”
Thoughtfully nodding, Leo Ray secretly pondered, “From this, it is only natural that they have decayed to such an extent in this damp environment.”
With this thought in mind, Leo Ray’s dark eyes moved to the center of the room.
There was a sculpture of a person sitting on a Blue Stone Platform that looked particularly eye-catching.
Aside from that, the only other noteworthy detail was the large anvil pattern on the chamber floor, intersecting with a cavalry saber and a Knight Sword, which was the Smith Family’s crest that Mason Banks belonged to.
“My Lord, something seems amiss here.”
Following that, Bianca White’s slightly puzzled voice reached Leo Ray’s ear, “Although there are many cabinets here, they are all empty…”
“Oh?”
Upon hearing this, Leo Ray walked over to the nearest bookshelf and discovered that, just as Bianca White had said, there was no trace of books or papers among the thick dust on the shelves.
There was nothing inside the cabinets either, besides a dense, moldy wood smell that wafted out, causing Leo Ray to frown involuntarily.
“Could this secret chamber have been ransacked by the Loren Kingdom’s enemies back then?” @@novelbin@@
As Leo Ray investigated the area, Ariel Watson’s crisp voice came over, “Since this was once a Tier 5 blacksmith’s secret study, it must have stored a large number of precious equipment blueprints and forging writings.”
“Impossible.”
Scarlett’s strong voice sounded not far behind Leo Ray, “The magic mechanism we just saw has no signs of being damaged. With this in mind, it is most likely that someone with the same bloodline or the blacksmith himself took everything.”
“So that’s how it is…”
On the other side, Mason Banks’s disappointed and aged voice reached Leo Ray’s ears, “I originally thought I could acquire some of my ancestor’s forging techniques.”
He let out a heavy sigh, and Mason Banks continued, “However, just seeing the place where my ancestor once worked makes this trip worthwhile.”
“Mr. Mason Banks need not be disheartened; I feel that this chamber is not as simple as it appears.”
Hearing this, Leo Ray, who had just turned around, nodded slightly to the elderly blacksmith, reassuring him.
“My Lord, please come over and take a look!”
Just then, Scarlett’s surprised shout came through again.
Approaching her, Leo Ray discovered that on the stone floor next to the secret chamber’s entrance, there was a large black scorch mark. Despite a layer of dust covering it, it was still visible to the naked eye.
“My Lord, it seems we’ve found the location of those equipment blueprints.”
Seeing Scarlett crouching on the ground and pinching out a piece of paper the size of a fingernail from the wall corner’s crevice, she then blinked her large eyes and said, “This special magic paper is the exclusive medium for equipment blueprints.”
What do you think?
