Chapter 347: 344, my brother Lai is awesome
“Today, I, Ryan, must become the director… no, the bishop.”
“Who approves, who opposes?”
At the council.
Ryan held a pistol, pointing it at those who were just sarcastically taunting.
Instantly, the atmosphere became extremely oppressive.
Everyone stood up, looking at him with indifferent gazes.
Matthew also spoke with displeasure, “Mr. Ryan, please put down the gun.”
While speaking, he turned his head to scold James, “You’d better give me an explanation. How did he get a gun? What if he injures himself?”
For Dusk Bell Church, Ryan’s status was very special.
He was mentally ill, yet he was also the most promising hunter to date. If well-cultivated, he might become the strongest measure against Evil Spirits.
Therefore, Dusk Bell would show the greatest tolerance toward Ryan.
But everyone knew that Ryan was mentally ill, handing him a pistol. What if he had a dark thought and turned the gun on himself? Wouldn’t that be Dusk Bell’s greatest loss?
James was also stunned and quickly explained, “Your Excellency, I definitely did not give him the gun, and I have been with him every day. He simply could not have had access to a gun.”
Members of Dusk Bell Church were all hunters, each with formidable strength, far beyond what any ordinary person could match.
Guns were of little use to them.
After all, their opponents were Evil Spirits. If they needed to kill ordinary people, the Evil Spirit Transformation ability was more useful and would cause no trouble.
Upon hearing this, Ryan also murmured in confusion, “Yeah, where did my gun come from?”
He was bewildered and froze in place.
Someone noticed this, immediately letting out a sinister chuckle.
An icy presence wafted around.
A vague figure of a woman appeared over Ryan. It only had an outline, yet its facial features had lines, revealing its appearance.
As soon as it manifested, it gently grasped the handgun while its other hand clutched Ryan’s neck.
Crack…
Ryan’s neck hung limply over his shoulder, and the vague figure of the woman vanished.
Upon seeing this, Matthew, the leader of Dusk Bell, became enraged.
The entire hall darkened as the lighting seemed to twist and blur.
The one who had acted immediately apologized, “I’m sorry, Your Excellency. I just wanted to teach him a lesson, to show him respect for his seniors, but I didn’t expect that he wouldn’t resist at all.”
Clearly, to them, Ryan was already a dead man.
But James at the side looked puzzled.
He had seen Ryan’s neck bent at ninety degrees, and even more exaggerated angles, so it seemed unlikely he would die so easily.
Moreover, he had always suspected that Ryan was faking his mental illness.
Indeed, the next second Ryan’s voice rang out.
“I get it! You’re damn trying to make a scene, aren’t you.”
“You bastard, the director said I’m his best assistant, and you dare to attack such an outstanding doctor like me!”
“I, Ryan, will not tolerate this!”
Accompanied by the doctor’s furious roar, Ryan reached out to straighten his own neck and pulled the trigger.
The barrel was aimed at the ceiling.
Logically, it should have been impossible to hit the target.
But after the gunshot sounded, the one who had just attacked Ryan directly got shot and fell to the ground, blood pooling and he could only clutch his chest in painful groans.
There was absolutely no logic to it.
Wishful Thinking.
Everyone who witnessed this scene was shocked, including Matthew.
He looked at Ryan and quickly said to the others, “Hurry, take Buck away.”
“And you, Mr. Ryan, calm down and stop using your powers.”
Matthew attributed this illogical phenomenon to Ryan’s abilities.
Ryan, however, was dismissive, “Quit your bullshit, you senile old man. Do you think you can order me around? You think you’re my director?”
Matthew felt a hair-raising chill flood his heart.
With a gun pointed at him, he felt that if Ryan were to shoot, he might actually die.
James, standing beside him, was terrified and quickly grabbed him, shouting, “If you lay a hand on his lordship, you’re surely going to die. And if you die, you won’t see the director anymore. Then how will you get promoted and get a raise? Do you not want your dreams anymore?”
Ryan hesitated, “You seem to make some sense.”
Ah, when will I become the director of Dusk Bell?@@novelbin@@
I miss the director so much!
With so many lunatics in Dusk Bell, is it reasonable that I’m the only attending physician?
It seems like I’ll just have to wait until the two psychiatric hospitals merge.
Then, I can follow the director, and a promotion and raise won’t be far off.
Ryan’s anger soon dissipated.
He even began to smile blissfully and laugh out loud, as if the mere Dusk Bell Psychiatric Hospital could not possibly be the end of his career.
James saw this, hurriedly reached for the handgun, and took it away directly.
During this process, Ryan did not resist and seemed even happier.
Everyone branded him as a dangerous lunatic, including Matthew.
“This is the end of the matter. I don’t care if you have any objections, but from now on, Mr. Ryan will be the bishop of Dusk Bell.”
Matthew looked at the others coldly, dropped this statement, and then turned and left.
The rest naturally could not have any other opinions, and even if they did, they wouldn’t dare make any moves in the short term.
In fact, they were thinking either to avoid contact with Ryan or to get on good terms with him.
After all, shooting without logic is something no one could withstand…
Everyone looked at the arrogant, laughing Ryan with strange eyes, shook their heads silently, and left one after another.
The council disbanded unhappily.
James sighed after watching everyone leave, “Don’t be so impulsive in the future, or you’ll really get into trouble. You have to understand, a lot of people want to turn you into a tool.”
There were quite a few ways to change people’s consciousness in the Dusk Bell Church.
Even some hunters possessed such abilities.
But Ryan stubbornly said, “I, Ryan, am never afraid of trouble!”
Though he said this, he was thinking, “The lunatics at Dusk Bell are really tough to deal with; I reckon even electrotherapy is useless on them. It’s about time I prescribed some medication for them. Tonight, I’ll call the director in my dream and ask what medication to give them.”
“Wait… I’m a director now, so why can’t I just prescribe medication for them myself?”
With this thought, Ryan’s eyes lit up, and he turned to look at James.
He wanted to ask James what kind of medication he usually liked, but he was worried that asking such “unprofessional” questions right after receiving a promotion might not look good.
So, Ryan cleared his throat and said nonchalantly, “Patient James, I’m thirsty. Where’s the kitchen in Dusk Bell?”
James said conflictedly, “Thirsty? If you’re thirsty, why go to the kitchen? Why not just boil some water?”
Ryan said with disdain, “You don’t understand a thing; I only drink tap water.”
Then, tentatively, he added, “Oh right… I need to step out for a bit, to buy something tasty. Do you want to come with me?”
James didn’t think much of it, “I guess I have to follow you, to prevent you from causing any more trouble.”
Ryan responded with an “Oh,” “Then I won’t go. I’ll go in my dream tonight.”
