Chapter 80 - Cornered Unexpectedly

It was a nod to tell her that for right now, the only wife I had in my eyes for the future was her, no one else.

Given that, in the case of the Empress, she was not even a major character and so, just like the main story, would remain stuck at her present levels until the final battle with the immortal.

Her path was different from that of the major characters, who were, in one way or another, at an advantage due to their good physiques or bloodlines, helping them keep moving forward. Unlike them, she felt as though she would remain stuck here forever.

Of course, she was very strong and maybe even more than Mialthara due to her unique ability, but it wasn’t enough for me to consider her a potential candidate.

Just because it would be too much of a hassle.

She would be around in her 40s, already too focused on building her strength while clearly losing any bit of opening where she might be impressed by some handsome man without any strength.

And for me to even think about her at my present level would only lead her to eliminate distractions, which would be me, inevitably removing any hassle in the path of her cultivation.

Some people are just made like that.

But of course, this wasn’t the case with these dolls who we needed in order to open the legacy of the Puppet Master—a legacy that possessed an artifact with a similar kind of power that the Empress possessed—the creation of strong puppets.

So what if I cannot cultivate? I would just use the system to create my puppets with the strength of the cultivators I want, given that one of the abilities of the domain is Artifact Integration, where I can enhance the artifacts by merging them together or just fuse them inside the domain.

This was particularly why I tried to get my hands on the progeny stone to exactly know how if this Artifact Integration really worked like in the original story or not.

In the original plot, Kyle, having this domain, was able to fuse many artifacts in the domain but naturally, just like his wives, his artifacts were also not of the level of progeny stones.

But it was something like where the system was able to rewrite the integrated artifacts’ limits, like changing the amount of time they could be used and replicating their power to bestow upon everyone within the domain and literally using its ability with free will—like forging swords every millisecond automatically after integrating some artifact possessing the ability to create one sword with a time limit of one week.

So, the system definitely in the original story was able to rewrite the artifacts, making it overpowered, but here, after already witnessing the IQ level of this system, I nearly doubted that it would be able to achieve the same level of capabilities, leading me to want to experiment with the highest grade artifact I could think of for now, which was very easy for me to get since it was in a library, but damn my luck.

Therefore, the reason I was being flirtatious and trying to get the interest of these two dolls was particularly to get my hands on the artifact within the Puppet Master’s legacy.

’Not like I genuinely wanted them to be my wives like you, my dear Olea.’

[Host, it’s true people love those who hurt them and hurt those who love them.]

’...Where did this come from?’ clearly hearing a very rare moment where the system was saying something sane enough, I could relate that it was taunting me for caring about Olea, who literally wanted to kill me.

"Leave it, just tell me how you did it."

’Huh?’ Suddenly hearing the same question which Olea asked me from the veiled woman—Prista, I turned, gave a blank look, as if thinking how, after yelling at me, she expects me to reveal a single secret to her.

And leave Olea, who was somewhat the chosen one—so I allowed her to be arrogant, but what’s with Prista? First, she yelled at me, argued, and now she’s asking in the most arrogant tone she can muster.

Like hell, I was going to tell her anything.

But again, looking at her, I did not muster myself to violently reject it, considering I was well aware the reason she was asking for it was simply for the Empress, given she was stuck at her levels without any future and hit a bottleneck.

Prista most probably sees me as a light and hope in wanting my help in somehow solving the issue of the Empress.

’Kekeke, nice, nice.’

:: You look like Satan; don’t laugh like that, human. ::

’....’ After reflecting on how, just like Olea, Prista was also showing this desperate side, I realized I could use it to my advantage to gain her favor and persuade her to enter, along with her other sister, into the place where the legacy of the Puppet Master resides.

It made me chuckle in a way that earned me a compliment from a fat bat.

’What the hell, how did you become fatso?’ I clearly noticed Valeriana’s size increased a bit, around 2 inches, something which was confusing as I observed her hovering and moving out of the room.

:: Your mother’s a fatso; I am—thud—crunchhh. ::

’Idiot,’ I blankly thought as she flew toward the 13-meter radius of my domain. She hit the invisible wall like a bird hitting a windshield, sliding down in a dramatic way.

This made me feel a twitch in my mouth as I observed how she seemed to be in a daze, as if drunk on something.

’Hah,’ sighing, I moved outside the room before leaning and lifting her back, placing her over my head as she literally fell asleep like some drunkard for some reason—turning back to enter the room. Explore more stories with Freewebnovel

"Halt—can’t you hear that I asked, how. Do. You. Do. It!"

But suddenly, I was halted as I met with a grip over my shoulder, clearly feeling a sting as it was the forceful strength stopping me—similar to that son of the second Queen, Alden Vandreat, whom I met in the library and who had held me in the same way right now as Prishta did.

But the pain was much less, maybe due to the enhanced strength by Aleriana helping me out, but still, I wasn’t able to move from there.

"Is this the way you ask someone about anything?" I also said in a firm tone, putting jokes aside, but she was taking it too far now; my shoulder was hurting and my non-existing ego was too.

"Isn’t this exactly how one inquires something from someone?"

And then came another voice from within the room, belonging to none other than Olea, who exited the training room with her mask covering her face, but her eyes, clearly glinting, seemed to reveal that she was serious, standing with her hand at the sword hilt.

My eyes clearly noticing the grip over her sword in a state of taking it out at any time, while I was gripped by Prista.

At this moment,

I knew I was cornered by both of these women with clear intention to harm me without me having the strength to protect myself.
