[Spell Mastery Skillbook]

Note: Choosing this spell school may prevent you from learning other magic systems or cause conflicts with existing spell schools that are not compatible.

Note: Can only be bought once per team, can’t be traded or taken out of this world.

Price: 15,000 Contribution Points

[Spell Mastery]

Requirements: Basic Mana Control lvl 0, Basic Concentration lvl 0 + 1 per level

Leveling Requirements: 1 Soul Crystal, 1,000 Fantasy Coins + 500 per level

Effects: Combines the skills of Defense Against the Dark Arts, Charms, and Transfiguration into this skill.

Effects: Enhances the effect of your spells belonging to the three aforementioned spell schools by 25% +5% per level. All other spells/magic abilities from Harry Potter / The Wizarding World are enhanced by 10% +2% per level. Compatible spells from other worlds are enhanced by 5% +1% per level.

Effect: Enables you to cast spells without a wand and use basic abilities like minor telekinesis, starting at lvl 5, with a reduced effectiveness of 100% -5% per level.

Note: True mastery of dueling is achieved by combining different spells into a cohesive fighting style.

“This thing is completely broken,” Alex says, staring at the description. “It combines three Deep Blue skills, each containing around ten useful spells—or in the case of Transfiguration, multiple methods for transforming things. All three of these spell schools are insanely enhanced as well. You can cast spells nonverbally and without motion right away, and if you push it to level five, you can even cast wandlessly. How crazy is that? If it weren’t for that one limitation, I’d want to go for it myself.”

“Yeah, without that restriction, I’d want it too, despite the heavy investment cost,” Rishi adds.

“You guys don’t want to risk losing access to your other spells, afraid this skill might cause a conflict? That warning is written in all three subskills too. If not for that, I would’ve suggested Alex learn them as well,” Tereza says. “But yeah, the risk is high.”

“Exactly,” Alex replies. “And it’s irrelevant anyway because you’re going to get it. I’m not touching this spell system, it’s way too risky. My Black Magic lvl 4 is far too important, especially because I need it for my Sword Magic lvl 4. Anyway, the real problem is the cost: 3,000 contribution points each for your two missing skillbooks and then another 15,000 for this thing. Anyway, it’s great that you’ve found something useful, but I don’t see anything here for me.”

The group takes a closer look at the other items Hagrid is offering.

They notice a collection of Green-quality items—robes, hats, and special gloves, but none of them seem particularly useful. A few Light Blue-quality items stand out as the highlight, though these, like the skillbooks, are also limited to one per team.

“Couldn’t we just buy some of this shit, take it with us, and sell it later?” Alex guesses.

“Of course, but there is one more highlight here: [Supreme Strengthening Potion],” Rishi says. “But I wouldn’t drink it, even if I desperately needed PHY and couldn’t raise it naturally. It’s just not worth it. Swapping stats like that feels like a bad trade, 5,000 contribution points could easily buy Green-quality items worth 50,000 FC if sold in the realm.”

[Supreme Strengthening Potion]

World: Harry Potter / Wizarding World

Quality: Deep Blue

Effect: STR +1, AGI +1, PHY +1

Effect: MNA -1, INT -1, SPR -1

Note: A potion invented by Severus Snape but discarded as useless for wizards. He kept this one because he couldn’t find a use for it. It will permanently enhance your physical stats at the cost of a permanent weakening of your mental and spiritual stats.

Note: Can’t be traded. Can only be bought once per team.

Price: 5,000 Contribution points

“I need that!!!” Alex exclaims loudly, a look of pure greed in his eyes.

“Why Alex, it’s the same for you. You also depend on these stats. In fact, doesn’t your innate skill make this potion useless? You gain 3 stat points, and you lose 3 stat points… No… don’t tell me….” Rishi stops mid-sentence, noticing Alex’s reaction. His eyes widen as he realizes the possibility.

“Are you sure about that?” Rishi asks.

Tereza, standing nearby, looks between the two of them with a confused expression.

“I already got an item like this once,” Alex explains. “It was back in Gaia. I used it as a gamble, and yes, Rishi, what you’re thinking is true. I’ve been looking for items like this ever since.”

“That’s almost cheating,” Rishi says, grinning. “Yeah, you should definitely go for it.”

Tereza’s eyes widen in realization. “Wait—don’t tell me! You gain the stat points, but you don’t lose any? So you end up with 3 additional stat points?”

Alex nods, confirming her guess.

Meanwhile, Roja and Perlah finish checking out the rest of Hagrid’s offerings. Roja’s face betrays her disappointment.

“I see a few blue-ranked items that seem useful, but nothing too exciting,” she says, crossing her arms.

Perlah nods in agreement. “Maybe I should get a blue-ranked spellbook after all? But Tereza, you need them too, right?”

“Get the [Defense Against the Dark Arts Skillbook]!” Tereza suggests immediately. “It’s mostly combat-focused and easily the strongest of the three, at least if we’re just talking about battle. Plus, I already own it.”

Perlah nods along, satisfied with the suggestion.

“Well, since we’re done here, let’s see what the forest has to offer,” Roja says, her eyes wandering toward the treeline in the distance.

“Sorry, I need a moment longer,” Alex interjects. “I told you guys about the loot I got from the chamber. According to the rules, I’ll share my gains with you. Since we split up and assigned different locations, it’s only fair. Besides, I already gave the cooking supplies to Menchi since that counted as me using them myself.”

“So, here’s the deal: either pick one of the fangs or a bit of skin, or let me check out the prices. I can ask Hagrid to split the contribution points instead.”

“Hmm, you’re quite fair, Alex,” Roja says thoughtfully. “Considering this was mostly due to your own ability, I’m not even sure you’re bound by the contract to share your findings. If anything, points would be appreciated.”

“It’s fine,” Alex says, shaking his head. “I don’t want to argue over small things. I’ll share some of the points. Hagrid also sells a few supplies that might be useful for you. Plus, we’re in this for the long run—we need to come together as a team, especially with the potential danger of an imposter team.”

Besides, Rishi, Tereza, and I are pooling our resources for Tereza anyway. That has the highest priority. Might as well give them a small share to keep them happy. Also, this way, they can’t argue later and demand other stuff.

“Hagrid, I already have some items I want to sell. What are you offering me for this?” Alex asks, presenting the remaining loot. The items include 21 units of [Basilisk Skin] and a large collection of [Basilisk Fangs], which range from green to deep blue in quality. He also shows Hagrid the [Rotten Basilisk Heart].

“Yer’ one crazy wizard. How did ya get those things? If anyone wanted ter find these, they’d have ter go look in the cha…” Hagrid suddenly stops mid-sentence, eyeing Alex suspiciously. “So you’re the rumored one, huh? The heir?”

“That’s not true,” Alex says quickly. “Ask the headmaster. He can confirm it. I just have a useful ability that helped me get inside.”

“Is dat so? Alright, this is what I can offer ye,” Hagrid says.

As Alex waits, a series of floating numbers appears in front of him.

No wonder the system takes over. Hagrid’s probably not smart enough to do these calculations.

Alex sees that the [Basilisk Skin] is worth exactly 4,200 contribution points, while the [Basilisk Fangs] are worth an astounding 9,000 contribution points. However, Hagrid only offers a pathetic 1,000 contribution points for the [Rotten Basilisk Heart], which leads Alex to keep it and decide to offer it to Menchi.

She can experiment on it and maybe find a way to use it. It’s not worth selling such a high-quality item for just 1,000 contribution points.

Alex turns to Roja and Perlah. “Do you want to split your contribution points or pool them on Perlah for the skillbook?”

Perlah starts to speak. “It would be useful for me if we could po—”

“Split!” Roja interrupts decisively.

“Okay then….” Alex responds, cutting off the conversation before they can argue further.

Alex immediately buys the [Supreme Strengthening Potion], instructing Hagrid to subtract its cost from the total sales price. After accounting for the 100 contribution points Alex already owns, he orders Hagrid to allocate 1,000 contribution points each to Roja and Perlah, and to give the remaining 6,300 contribution points to Tereza.

Alex holds the potion in his hand, grinning widely before placing it into his inventory for now.

Tereza, as soon as she sees her contribution points, looks at Alex in shock. Her face shows gratitude for the windfall, but there’s also a hint of reluctance—mixed with a strange obsession Alex can’t quite figure out.

“That many points? Thank you, Alex. That’s quite fair of you. I won’t forget it,” Roja says. Perlah looks pleased as well, now having reached a third of her goal.

Wasting no time, Tereza spends 6,000 contribution points to buy both the [Transfiguration Skillbook] and the [Charms Skillbook], her gleeful expression making it clear she’s thrilled by the purchase.

Rishi glances toward the forest. “It’s time to get to work,” he says.

The rest of the group turns their gaze to the forest as well. Exchanging determined looks, they move forward together, ready to explore.@@novelbin@@
