Chapter 1852: 1852: It's not a matter of wanting or not, it's that I've never thought about it before.
Chapter 1852: Chapter 1852: It’s not a matter of wanting or not, it’s that I’ve never thought about it before.
Indeed, as soon as he arrived beside the horse, he saw Xue Ganggang lying on the ground, as if dead, her face covered in blood.
Overwhelmed by panic, he didn’t bother to discern the scent of the blood, immediately transforming into human form and hurriedly lifting the person from the ground into his arms to check whether she was dead or alive.
The hand that reached towards the person in his arms to check for breath was trembling.
It was then that the person in his arms suddenly flipped over, pinning him underneath, her eyes snapping open, and she berated him while gripping his neck, “Why did you stop running!”
It was only then that Bai Xing realized that the blood on her face didn’t seem to be human blood, but horse blood.
Glancing to the side, indeed, the horse was injured; when it stumbled earlier, it was slashed by a sharp branch, creating a rather large wound, though not life-threatening.
Bai Xing’s breath finally eased.
He had been really timid today, scared twice already.
Xue Ganggang was still clutching his throat, “Speak!”
“I don’t know what to say,” Bai Xing honestly admitted, not attempting to struggle, letting her grasp him, sitting on top of him.
Xue Ganggang wiped her face, removing quite a lot of the horse blood from it.
She had fallen off when the horse stumbled earlier, but luckily was not greatly harmed. Then a plan formed in her mind; she thought since Bai Xing still liked her, he would definitely double back to look for her, assuming she had met with an accident. So, she smeared some of the blood that was flowing from the horse onto her face, and sure enough, he had fallen for it.
However, the fact that Bai Xing resignedly let her pin him down, not knowing what to say, actually took her aback.
Indeed, he had said everything he needed to say to her—that he didn’t want to be with her. What else could he say?
The intention to beat him up dissipated suddenly at that moment.
She said irritably, “If you have nothing to say, I do!”
Bai Xing just looked at her.
This position, with one lying down and the other sitting on them, was really… Xue Ganggang suddenly felt a bit embarrassed, her face flushing, and she hurriedly got off of him.
Before getting off, she didn’t forget to threaten, “Don’t you dare run!”
Seeing Bai Xing nod, she finally got off of him and sat to the side.
With no one sitting on him, Bai Xing could rise from the ground as well, not needing to lie down anymore, but he didn’t fully get up. Instead, he sat on the ground just like Xue Ganggang.
Now that they were both seated and calm, everything that needed to be said should have been spoken immediately, yet Xue Ganggang remained silent for quite a while before she finally hugged her knees, turned to face Bai Xing, and then began, “Even though I like you, you don’t have to consider anything. You can make whatever decision you want, since we are both independent individuals with that right. But you never considered my feelings, and that makes me very unhappy.”
Seeing Bai Xing open his mouth as if he wanted to argue, she quickly interrupted, “Don’t start with your excuses again. You seem to be considering my wellbeing, not wanting me to lower my standard of living, but have you ever truly considered what I want? You’re only focused on your own thoughts.”
She could understand that perspective…
Bai Xing pinched the bridge of his nose, his head aching.
“I just want to ask you, do you want to be with me?” she asked pointedly, locking eyes with him.
“I haven’t thought about it,” he said, sticking to the truth. She was a Pure Human, not of this world, and he knew that from the beginning. So, even when he realized he might like her, he really hadn’t considered them being together.
Perhaps because it was too realistic, too much to hope for; he hadn’t even pondered whether he wanted to be with her.
So, it wasn’t about whether he wanted to or not; he simply had never thought about it.
He had never considered it at all.
What do you think?
