Chapter 765: Chapter 765: Jasmine Yale goes to bed with him

Spencer Childe stared at Chale Cheney for a long time.

Perhaps it was Spencer Childe’s stern face that made Chale Cheney feel frightened deep down.

He didn’t dare to speak.

“Let’s eat,” Spencer Childe finally broke the silence.

“Daddy…” Chale Cheney tugged at the corner of Sylvan Cheney’s shirt, looking pleadingly at him.@@novelbin@@

“Hmm, sit next to me,” Sylvan Cheney replied.

...

Only then did Chale climb onto the chair, obediently sitting still.

The sassy manner he usually displayed at home was nowhere to be seen; instead, he was well-behaved and shy.

If only Jasy were here, he wouldn’t be so scared.

Who was this great grandfather really?

“I visited your mother’s grave this afternoon. You’ve kept the cemetery in good condition. It’s just a pity that she’s all alone,” Spencer Childe spoke calmly.

“I’ve asked Tomer to stay with her.”

“I saw Tomer. She has aged, and the news about Yolanda Fern hit her hard. She kept saying how she never imagined Yolanda could be such a person.”

Sylvan Cheney scoffed. Yolanda certainly exploited Tomer ruthlessly.

In those years, Tomer had been very nice to Yolanda, likely feeding her tidbits of gossip about the Cheney Residence.

It appeared Jasmine Yale might’ve confided in Tomer about their affair and the subsequent pregnancy, and perhaps all this information found its way to Yolanda.

“Tomer is in great pain. She couldn’t stop crying, saying she had failed you and me,” Spencer Childe continued. “She said she could never face coming back to the Cheney Residence and would stay by Qiana’s grave.”

“She brought it upon herself,” Sylvan Cheney expressed, without showing much sympathy.

He offered her a way out, but she did not value it.

He was not one to easily forget old loyalties; he remembered how loyal Tomer had been to Qiana, diligently serving and caring for her.

She had even chosen not to marry for Qiana’s sake.

On Qiana’s deathbed, she requested Tomer to treat Yolanda well. And Tomer honored her request, year after year, as if she wished she could rush off to Lonton at any moment.

Spencer Childe sighed: “She’s also pitiful, she just picked the wrong person to help. Forget about it. She is old now. Don’t be so hard on her. Let her stay by Qiana’s side.”

“Hmm,” Sylvan agreed.

Not planning on making a big fuss, Sylvan figured that having Tomer watch over the grave was the best solution.

His mother had depended heavily on Tomer while alive. He didn’t want to dish out any more punishment.

Chale was eating quietly on the side. He didn’t understand what they were talking about.

He couldn’t understand at all. And he didn’t dare to make a fuss.

He had no choice but to lower his head and eat.

Why did they have him join the adult dinner? He hated this…

He wanted to go home. He wanted to have dinner with Jasy.

He wondered if Jasy would be lonely all alone at home?

The shark fin soup here was really tasty. He planned to take some home for Jasy!

“Your mother’s favorite person was Teagan Cheney, but he’s dead too. Even death couldn’t bring them together,” Spencer Childe bluntly stated.

“Over the years, if my mother knew from the grave of Teagan Cheney’s deeds, I believe she wouldn’t have wished to be buried with him,” Sylvan Cheney responded calmly.

A man who manipulates even his own son cannot be deemed a husband.

“Hmm,” Spencer Childe assented. “After my own passing, I’ll join her.”

The atmosphere suddenly grew sombre.

Chale took a bite of the shark fin soup, kneeling on his seat, and gave a piece of cod to Spencer Childe.

“Great Grandpa, here.”

Spencer Childe, taken aback, nodded: “Thank you.”

Then, Chale gave a piece to Sylvan Cheney, “Daddy, your favorite.”

“Hmm.”

“The little guy is very sensible,” Spencer Childe complimented. “A lot more behaved than when you were his age.”

Sylvan Cheney remained noncommittal, the corners of his lips inadvertently curling up.
