Chapter 1896: Slaughtered Like Dogs
Chapter 1896: Slaughtered Like Dogs
The Great Martial Stage.
A level those beneath the Great Realm could only look up to. Upon reaching this level, cultivators had the right to aim for the pinnacle of the Immortal Dao.
But in the eyes of Great Profound cultivators, Great Martial cultivators didn’t amount to much. Even Great Unity cultivators could squish Great Martial cultivators with ease!
This was common knowledge, but common knowledge didn't apply to Su Yi. As the general populace already knew, Su Yi could kill Great Martial cultivators and fight Great Unity cultivators even as an Immortal King. Everyone had known that his strength would transform completely upon reaching the Great Realm.
This battle showed precisely that: he could cut down even Great Profound cultivators like they were made of rotten wood!
This was what the crowd found so astonishing. Yet... they were still wrong. The truth was that even as an Immortal King, Su Yi could kill first-rate Great Profound cultivators and at least fight back against unparalleled Great Profound cultivators. Now that he’d stepped into the Great Martial Stage, his strength was comparable to Wang Ye’s at its peak!
……
Even as the crowd sank into astonishment, Su Yi never slowed his attacks. He’d decided to kill his enemies, so why hold back?
The Sword of the Human Realm hummed as Su Yi walked through the air, seemingly unhurried, yet shockingly quick. Space itself seemed to shrink beneath his feet, and with a shift of his wrist, dazzling, sharp sword qi swept through the sky.
Boom!The sky shattered and collapsed.
A Great Profound Stage expert’s head flew through the air. The stump of his neck was as smooth as a mirror. Tyrannical sword force spread outward, and both the disembodied head and the decapitated body disintegrated.
The grand battle raged on, but now, it seemed more like a heartless, one-sided massacre. As Su Yi fought, sword qi ransacked the darkness of heaven and earth like interweaving raging gales. Every strike slaughtered a Great Profound Stage expert!
Their shocking divine abilities and “all-powerful” immortal treasures split like paper window paneling beneath the Sword of the Human Realm. Even when they risked it all, these Great Profound experts were like moths to the flame.
At Wang Ye’s peak, he'd dominated the entire Immortal Realm, the sole ruler of his era. Even his enemies, unparalleled enemies in their own right, dared not lift their heads in front of him. It was easy to imagine how terrifyingly strong he was.
And Su Yi was already no weaker than Wang Ye had been. He could crush ordinary Great Profound experts unworthy of the title “unparalleled” with ease!
Indeed, within just a few blinks of an eye, seven more Great Profound experts had died brutal deaths.
Too terrifying!
To the onlookers, Su Yi seemed like a ruler presiding over heaven and earth. He was slaughtering experts they saw as lofty and all-powerful. It was as if they were mountains towering atop the Immortal Dao, and he’d gone and overturned them with a flip of his hand. There was no need to even describe the extent of the onlookers’ astonishment.
“Retreat! Hurry up and retreat!” someone shrieked in panic.
The remaining Great Profound experts completely panicked too. Their courage fled them, and they no longer hesitated. All of them shot toward Cloudsoar Peak.
Sadly, Su Yi wouldn’t let them escape. When he started something, he was sure to finish it.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
He swung three times in rapid succession, then disappeared into thin air.
To the southeast, a man in imperial robes split in two. He instinctively looked down and saw that he’d been cut in half at the waist! A moment later, everything went black, and all awareness left him.
To the northeast, an old woman shrieked in terror and despair as a raging windstorm of sword qi swept past her, reducing her to scattered chunks of flesh and blood. It was like death by a thousand cuts.
To the east, a massive bang rang out, and a man in scholarly attire stiffened as a bloody hole opened in his back. Then, his entire body caught ablaze like a dried-up leaf, incinerated into powder.
The three of them had dried practically simultaneously.
Su Yi, meanwhile, had already continued the chase, intercepting the only two Great Profound experts left.
Both of them abruptly stopped in place, their expressions full of despair.
Su Yi swiped the flat of his blade with his fingertip and said, “Don’t you think it’s strange? Why hasn’t anyone come to save you even now?”
Both of them were stunned, but before they could respond, Su Yi continued, “I think it’s strange too.”
He was already approaching, sword swinging.
An icy, dignified voice rang out. “Stop!”
Boom!
The power of a formation surged forth beneath the darkness of heaven and earth, manifesting as countless hundred-thousand-foot chains and descending upon Su Yi. At the same time, the power of the formation wrapped around the two surviving Great Profound experts.
But just as they were about to escape, Su Yi snorted coldly and swung his sword.
Kaboom!
The countless divine chains exploded and fell to the ground like dead snakes.
Su Yi had already used the Tree of All Worlds to appear before the two survivors, sword swinging.@@novelbin@@
“No——!”
“Save me!”
Both Great Profound powerhouses exploded before their cries of terror and despair had even finished echoing through the darkened skies. Fresh blood splattered the air.
The distant onlookers stood there in a complete daze. Barely any time had passed between now and when the battle began, yet eighteen experts at the pinnacle of the Great Profound Realm had perished, crushed like clay chickens and porcelain dogs!
Who’d dare to believe such a thing? No, who could have imagined such a thing? Never before had so many Great Profound cultivators died at once, not even when the cataclysm of the Age of Fallen Immortals swept the Immortal Realm!
An indescribable emotion assailed their hearts. All of them looked dazed and bewildered.
Meanwhile, beneath the night sky, a curtain of darkness enveloped the dome of heaven. Bloody mist permeated the air. Su Yi stood alone amidst it all, his blue robes fluttering around him, completely detached... and completely uninjured!
In truth, from his perspective, massacring eighteen Great Profound experts didn’t feel any different from slaughtering eighty-one Great Unity experts.
It was just as he’d said earlier. These opponents weren’t enough to satisfy him!
“You still aren’t coming out? You really are ruthless, huh?”
Su Yi flicked the flat of his sword and gazed at Cloudsoar Peak. Qi Nie, Xuan Zhong, and the others held their breath beneath the weight of his gaze. All of them sensed a lethal threat.
But the feeling only lasted a moment.
Su Yi’s gaze swept past them and focused on the heart of the mountain.
The eighteen dead Great Profound cultivators had been divine emissaries, and they’d once served directly beneath the gods. Now, they obeyed the divine children.
Before the battle began, someone had ordered the eighteen of them to participate. And just now, someone had used the Skyless Darkness Divine Formation in an attempt to intercept him and save the last two divine emissaries. All of this told Su Yi that a big fish was hidden somewhere on Cloudsoar Peak.
A conversation rang out beneath the tense, stifled atmosphere.
“Who could have imagined that the Heretic Reincarnator would be so powerful?”
“Even if he were stronger, he’d be doomed beyond a doubt. He’s already fallen into our trap. There will be no escape!”
“Let’s go test the heretic for ourselves. We can’t let him underestimate us.”
…Several figures shot off Cloudsoar Peak accompanying these voices and arrived beneath the dome of heaven.
Four men and one woman.
Su Yi recognized three of them: Qing Xiao, Gongyang Yu, and Jin Zhuliu!
The other woman and the remaining man were unfamiliar.
The man was lavishly dressed and powerfully built, and his long hair was golden, an uncommon sight. A sword was tied to his back at an angle with black string.
The woman wore a black, wide-sleeved dress, and her hair was tied in a loose bun. She had a fair, beautiful face, but her eyes were her most striking feature. They were an unearthly shade of blue, and each had twin pupils!
When this group appeared, their auras alone filled the space between heaven and earth, making the surrounding sky quiver and wail as if in submission.
“Who are those people?”
“They’re most likely divine children from the God Domain!”
The distant onlookers gasped, their expressions shifting. Who could have imagined that divine children would be here to oversee the Immortal Peach Assembly?
Some of them couldn’t help but sweat on Su Yi’s behalf. Every divine child was a mighty expert of unfathomable power. Even other Great Profound Stage experts gazed upon them with trepidation.
Never mind the rest of their abilities; their divine treasures alone could allow them to kill others of the same level with ease!
Yet now, five of them had appeared at once. No matter how highly the crowd had thought of Su Yi’s chances moments prior, they couldn’t help but feel a sense of foreboding.
Meanwhile, atop Cloudsoar Peak, Qi Nie, Xuan Zhong, and the other higher-ups bowed in unison and called out in greeting.
“Welcome, Your Excellencies!”
…Their voices echoed through the sky, shaking everything on all sides.
Their expressions were full of unconcealed awe, reverence, and excitement.
The emissary of the Beyond, Li Youxue, bowed too. She then faced the woman with dual pupils and respectfully greeted her as the “Esteemed Divine Daughter.”
Su Yi took it all in, but his expression never wavered. He was as calm as ever.
He could guess that the unfamiliar golden-haired man in lavish attire was Fu Tianyi, the divine son the Church of the Pure One had ushered in. Both Yue Bai and the divine emissary Su Yi had killed not long ago, Zhan Heng, were his subordinates.
The woman with the dual pupils was entirely unfamiliar to Su Yi, but that wasn’t all that important. Su Yi simply filed her under the category “enemy.”
He took the initiative to address them. “I don’t understand. You were overseeing things this entire time, so why insist on sending that riffraff to their deaths? You even sat back and watched as they met their ends. Why?”
Many of the others were confused too. He’s right. Had the divine children intervened earlier, they’d have had a real shot at saving the lives of those Great Profound experts. But they did no such thing. Something strange is going on here.
Surely they can’t be that heartless and cruel? After all, those divine emissaries obviously went into battle on the divine children’s orders! Who could have imagined that the divine children would just watch them die without even attempting to save them?
“Their deaths won’t have been in vain. As for our reasoning…” The lavishly dressed man in golden robes locked onto the distant Su Yi, his gaze cold and cruel. “If you come quietly, this lofty one wouldn’t mind giving you some answers.”
“Oh,” said Su Yi. He caressed the flat of the Sword of Human Realm, then said, “In that case, don’t bother. Let’s just fight.”
His wrist shifted, and he pointed the Sword of the Human Realm at his enemies.
Clang!!
The humming of his sword resounded throughout heaven and earth, like the sonorous cries of a phoenix.
What do you think?
