Chapter 765: 764 Hello, Miss Wen, my name is Mo Xiuchen

Wen Ran was lost in her own thoughts along the way.

She was unaware that not too far behind her, a black Bentley was following her.

What never would have crossed her mind was that the man she had been constantly missing was in that very car.

Just as she was standing outside the menswear store where she had bought him a shirt, her phone suddenly rang.

“Ranran, where are you?”

The call came from Gu Kai, his soft and mellow voice was tinged with subtle concern.

Wen Ran glanced down the street, a small smile pulled at the corner of her mouth, “Brother, I’m just doing some shopping, you don’t need to worry.”

“Where are you? I’ll come find you.”

Gu Kai, of course, was still concerned.

Wen Ran lowered her gaze and moistened her lips before answering, “Brother, I’ll head back right now. You can wait for me at the hotel.”

“Alright then.”

In the car, Mo Xiuchen was looking at Wen Ran not too far away. Her smile just now stirred some indescribable feelings in him – they were gentle and seemed a bit sympathetic.

Seeing that she ended the call and started to retrace her steps, Mo Xiuchen ordered the driver to turn around and follow her back.

Back at the hotel, Gu Kai, tall and towering, was waiting. He scanned the left, then the right, repeatedly.

After waiting for over ten minutes, he finally saw Wen Ran approaching from the far end of the left side of the street.

He exhaled and gave a relieved smile, quickening his pace to meet her. “Ranran, where’ve you been?” he asked kindly.

Mid-sentence, he noticed that her hair was still slightly damp. He frowned at the sight.

Lifting his hand to touch her hair, he chided her, “Why didn’t you dry your hair after washing it?”

Wen Ran, smiling, brushed his hand away, “Brother, it’s summer. It’s fine whether I dry my hair or not. You see, it’s already nearly dry after my walk.”

If she had dried it a little more thoroughly, it wouldn’t still be damp now.

“Didn’t I tell you to take some rest earlier? Why did you run about again?”

Gu Kai’s face stiffened, he had just finished a call with Ah Mu and went to knock on her door, only to find she had already left.

Wen Ran affectionately reached out and looped her arm through Gu Kai’s, pleadingly saying. “I just wanted some fresh air. The room was stuffy, and I couldn’t sleep.”

Upon hearing her whining, Gu Kai’s heart instantly softened.

The stern look on his face was immediately replaced with a warm smile. However, his smile faded once he looked towards the distance.

His expression suddenly went still.

Wen Ran belatedly noticed Gu Kai’s stiff expression and called out in surprise, “Brother, what…”

“Ranran, when did Mo Xiuchen start following you? ”

Gu Kai interrupted Wen Ran, speaking in a shocked tone.

Wen Ran was momentarily taken aback. When the realization finally hit her, she swiftly turned around.

Her heart skipped a beat when she noticed the figure of the man approaching her from afar.

Something, much like a wave, swiftly swelled in her heart — it filled her every nook, nose and eyes.

Her mind suddenly went blank.

Under the dim light, she couldn’t see clearly the expression of the approaching man.

But what she was aware of was his familiar towering figure, elegant and noble.

His equisitely chiseled facial features were profound and three-dimensional under the streetlights.

The gaze of his eyes was as deep as a pond, seductive enough to draw anyone in, the curvature of his lips seemed mesmerizing to Wen Ran.

“Ranran.”

Next to her, Gu Kai was the first to recover from his shock. He gently grasped Wen Ran’s hand and softly called out to her.

The moment Wen Ran met Gu Kai’s worried gaze, she snapped back to reality.

Mo Xiuchen was only a few steps away from them now.

His gaze shifted from Wen Ran, falling onto Gu Kai next to her, and he greeted him with a smile, “Ah Kai.”

Gu Kai jolted.

Astonishment flashed across his handsome face for a moment but quickly returned to calm. @@novelbin@@

With a pleasant smile on his face, he asked, “Mo Xiuchen, fancy meeting you here, what are you doing here?”

Mo Xiuchen blinked, glanced at Wen Ran, and instead of answering, asked in return, “Ah Kai, who is this?”

A sharp pain tore through Wen Ran’s heart at his question.

It was as if someone had ruthlessly pierced her heart with a knife.

The pain was almost unbearable, but she tried hard to keep her composure.

She silently reminded herself that Mo Xiuchen had lost his memory.

Although he couldn’t remember her, his gaze was still as warm as ever.

Yet it lacked the gentle warmth that she had been so fond of.

Gu Kai softly smiled, glancing at Wen Ran before introducing her, “This is my sister, Wen Ran.”

“Hello Miss Wen, my name is Mo Xiuchen.”

Mo Xiuchen took a step forward and offered his hand to Wen Ran before Gu Kai could introduce him.

Wen Ran was startled for a split second.

She looked up, meeting his eyes filled with warm humor. She also allowed herself a faint smile, extending her hand to shake his, “Nice to meet you, Mr. Mo!”

Her voice was very soft, and incredibly gentle.

It seemed to suppress countless emotions, adding a sense of mystery, like a gentle breeze brushing one’s ears, evoking a sense of pity.

Mo Xiuchen’s palm was broad and warm with distinct knuckles.

The moment Wen Ran extended her hand, he grasped it. Her demure and boneless hand was slightly cold, which aroused his inexplicable desire to warm it up for her.

But that was just a thought. As soon as he felt that Wen Ran wanted to withdraw her hand, he immediately let go.

“Miss Wen, I feel like I’ve heard your voice before.”

Mo Xiuchen was originally greeting Gu Kai.

However, his focus remained on Wen Ran. Despite clearly not knowing her, he seemed to want to strike up a conversation with her.

This strange feeling didn’t stop him from following his instincts.

Mo’s secretary, Wu, stood silently two steps behind him, watching the conversation unfold between Mo Xiuchen, Gu Kai, and Wen Ran, with a mix of surprise and a thousand emotions in her heart.

She couldn’t believe that the CEO who, despite losing his memory, was indifferent and distant with his fiancee Cheng Jia, could be so affectionate with the forgotten Wen Ran.

If she hadn’t witnessed it for herself, she wouldn’t have believed it.

What kind of relationship could make Mo Xiuchen, who forgot who he was and had clearly also forgotten Wen Ran, be unable to let go at first sight?

Gu Kai was just as shocked.

He squinted his eyes and looked at Mo Xiuchen before him.

This guy must have followed Wen Ran all the way here and, after seeing him, boldly got out of the car to initiate a conversation.

Shouldn’t he be talking to me instead of ignoring–

Why are his eyes fixed on my sister?!

Wen Ran looked at Mo Xiuchen’s teasing smile and replied casually, “I don’t remember, maybe. After all, you know my brother.”

“Mo Xiuchen, how’s your health now? After Chairman Mo picked you up, I lost track of where you were, so I haven’t visited you since.”

Gu Kai intervened. Looking past Wen Ran at Mo Xiuchen, he saw that Mo’s gaze had finally returned to him.

The smile on his lips deepened a bit, he didn’t wait for Mo Xiuchen’s answer and asked another question right away, “Isn’t your fiancee with you?”
