Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 831: How did Ranran offend him?

Chapter 831: How did Ranran offend him?

A few minutes later, Mo Jingteng’s two most loyal bodyguards arrived upstairs. As soon as Mo Xiuchen saw them enter, he immediately commanded, “Hurry and take my father to the hospital.”

“Young Master, which hospital should we take the old master to?”

The two bodyguards were uncertain. Previously, when Mo Jingteng had been ill, he was treated at Kangning Hospital; however, not long ago, Gu Yan had confronted Mo Jingteng, accusing him of involvement in past events that resulted in Wen Ran being captured by Fu Jingyi.

The two argued heatedly, and afterwards, Gu Yan left furiously, sternly stating that if Mo Jingteng fell ill again, he could forget about ever entering the doors of their Kangning Hospital.

At that time, both of them had been present, so they knew about this incident.

“We should obviously go to the city hospital.” Mo Zixuan had also rushed over from his room. Hearing the bodyguards’ question, he immediately chimed in. Mo Xiuchen nodded silently. One bodyguard carried Mo Jingteng on his back, and the other supported him as they headed downstairs.

...

Mo Zixuan gave Mo Xiuchen a look but said nothing and quickly followed them.

At the hospital, Mo Jingteng was rushed into the emergency room, while the two bodyguards handled the hospital admission procedures. Outside the operating room, only Mo Zixuan and Mo Xiuchen were left.

“What did you say that made him pass out?”

Mo Zixuan was not questioning nor caring about Mo Jingteng; rather, there was a hint of mockery in his tone.

Mo Xiuchen stared deeply at the closed door of the operating room, lost in thought. It was only when he heard Mo Zixuan speak that he withdrew his gaze, turned around, and gave Mo Zixuan an indifferent look. “I let him listen to Cheng Jia’s recording.”

“What, a recording? Does that mean he knows I’m helping you?”

Mo Zixuan’s eyes widened in alarm. He still did not want Mo Jingteng to know his real purpose for returning to his side.

Mo Xiuchen gave him a cold glare, then looked away. “It’s edited. What he heard was just Cheng Jia’s voice. Don’t worry, as long as you don’t do anything else to hurt Ranran, we’ll consider our past grievances settled.”

At the mention of Wen Ran, Mo Zixuan’s face slightly paled.

He pursed his lips tightly and said stiffly, “I’ve already nearly killed Ranran once, I won’t hurt her a second time.”

“That’s good.”

Mo Xiuchen turned back, his gaze piercing as he studied Mo Zixuan’s face for a moment, his expression unreadable.

Gu Kai had just gotten home when he received a call from Mo Xiuchen.

Gu Yan was walking ahead, already upstairs, while he was still in the living room. Seeing that the call was from Mo Xiuchen, he paused and answered, “Hello, Xiuchen.”

“Ah Kai, have you finished work?”

Mo Xiuchen’s voice came calmly while Gu Kai yawned, exhausted, “Just got home. What’s up?”

“My old man has collapsed. He’s currently being resuscitated.”

“Ah? Collapsed? It’s not another one of your doings, is it?”

Gu Kai chuckled. Previously, he had respected Mo Jingteng as Mo Xiuchen’s father and an elder. But ever since Mo Jingteng threatened Wen Ran and Xiuchen to divorce and even coerced her into swearing, he treated him as less than a stranger.

“Well, sort of,”

Mo Xiuchen’s voice sounded rather nonchalant.

“Why, does Mo Jingteng already know about you and Ranran?”

Gu Kai was no fool. Mo Xiuchen’s goal was not to directly kill Mo Jingteng, but to collect evidence of his past crimes and send him to prison, destroying his reputation.

If Mo Jingteng hadn’t provoked him again, he wouldn’t have taken such drastic actions.

As Wen Ran was mentioned, a hint of coldness unvoluntarily appeared in Mo Xiuchen’s expression, and even his voice carried a sliver of chill, “He made Mo Zixuan pursue Ranran. He said that if Mo Zixuan had no intentions towards Ranran, then he would have her disappear from this world.”

Mo Xiuchen spoke the last sentence very slowly, pausing after each word, his tone icy sharp.

Mo Jingteng harbored no affection for familial ties.

“What, Mo Jingteng is too ruthless, where did Ranran offend him?” Gu Kai’s voice suddenly heightened, and anger immediately showed on his handsome face.

“He wants to control me.”

“Mo Xiuchen, what do you plan to do?” Gu Kai calmly asked.

“Don’t worry, I won’t give him the chance to hurt Ranran. I made him listen to that recording from Cheng Jia. Even if he wakes up, he will go after Cheng Jia first, and I won’t let him die so quickly.”

“Alright.”

Gu Kai, having heard this, felt somewhat relieved. Whether Mo Xiuchen had regained his memory or not, his feelings for Ranran were as before; he would definitely protect her, so he really didn’t need to worry too much.

After Gu Kai finished the call with Mo Xiuchen, seeing his father still standing on the second floor, he controlled his emotions and went upstairs, “Dad, Mo Xiuchen said that Mo Jingteng has fainted again, he’s being resuscitated.”

Gu Yan’s brows slightly furrowed, his expression somewhat gloomy: “He deserves it.”

“Yes, I think so too, but dad, why didn’t Mo Jingteng come to our hospital this time?”

Gu Kai was still unaware of his father’s previous encounter with Mo Jingteng.

“I said that he should not come to Kangning Hospital again. Perhaps he told Mo Zixuan about it, his two bodyguards were there at the time.”

Gu Yan’s voice carried suppressed anger. He really couldn’t believe that he had regarded Mo Jingteng as a friend for decades. Although their relationship was not as close as between Ah Kai and Mo Xiuchen, he indeed had considered Mo Jingteng a friend.

But that despicable man, because of his jealousy, had once instigated Fu Jingyi to steal away his daughter.

Gu Kai stared at his father in shock, “Dad, when did you say that, why don’t I know about it?”

“Not long ago.” Gu Yan raised his hand to press his forehead, speaking tiredly, “Ah Kai, go rest.”

“Yeah, you go to sleep early too.”

Gu Kai nodded and turned toward his own room.

**

In the hospital, Mo Xiuchen and Mo Zixuan were sitting on a bench outside the operating room.

Mo Xiuchen broke the silence, calmly asking, “Ah Feng said that you took photos of Cheng Jia. Do you still have any photos?”

“Photos? No, I gave them all to Wen Jin.” Mo Zixuan looked up at Mo Xiuchen, “Those photos were of Cheng Jia with two old lechers from the company. Luo Haofeng should have already approached them.”

“Hmm, Ah Feng did say he approached them, but I want some other things.”

A hint of coldness crossed Mo Xiuchen’s eyes; he would never show Mo Xiuchen even the slightest bit of fatherly affection, determined to make him fall from grace.

“Then you should go after them. I’m going back to sleep, do you want to stay here waiting for the old man to wake up?” Mo Zixuan stood up, no longer willing to wait, as he looked at the tightly closed doors of the operating room, a sudden sadness arose in his heart.

Unsure if it was sadness for his own life or for the man being treated inside.

What had he done in his lifetime, ending up with everyone turning against him, using his own son as a tool when needed and discarding him when useless?

Mo Xiuchen raised an eyebrow, his gaze sweeping over the closed doors of the operating room, and spoke indifferently, “Go back to sleep. We can’t let people talk. I’ll stay here until he comes out of the surgery.”

Mo Zixuan’s lips curled into a cold smile, “Good, keep watch here then, I’m going to rest.”
