Floating Island - Triple S Talent

Chapter 457 2 Last requirement

Lein climbed the stairs to the upper floor and entered his room. The space was vast, much larger than he had anticipated. A large bed with a thick, deep blue blanket stood at the center of the room. Wide windows were open, revealing the cityscape of Solareon bathed in golden light from the glowing pillars.

In one corner, a sturdy wooden desk stood with several neatly arranged documents, accompanied by an illumination crystal emitting a soft bluish glow. A bookshelf on the side of the room was filled with various literature, some appearing to be ancient magic tomes with thick silver-ornamented covers.

Lein stepped inside and scanned the room with a satisfied look. "Spacious enough," he muttered softly.

He walked toward the window, gazing at the city still bustling below. Night had not fully arrived, but the lights were already beginning to shine, making the view of Solareon even more mesmerizing.

Without wasting time, Lein removed his clothes and stepped into the bathroom. As warm water flowed from the shower, his body felt a wave of relaxation that gradually erased the fatigue from the journey. A thin mist filled the room, wrapping him in a comfort that almost made him reluctant to leave. However, after a few moments, he finished his bath, donned comfortable clothes, and walked toward the chair near the window.

A knock on the door drew his attention. A servant entered, carrying a silver tray with steaming food. "Your dinner, sir," he said politely.

Lein nodded and took the tray. The rich aroma of spices immediately filled the air, making his empty stomach demand attention. Roasted meat with fragrant sauce, soft bread that looked perfectly risen, and a glass of blue wine that shimmered under the room's light. A simple meal, yet it looked incredibly appetizing.

As he started eating, another knock came at the door. This time, Laras and Efan arrived. Both entered without much formality, each carrying their own tray of food, then sitting on the sofa near the small table in the middle of the room.

"What do you think of this city?" Lein asked between bites, his eyes observing them.

"Everything feels lively and full of energy," Efan answered without hesitation. "Even though their races and powers differ from those in the Divine Sky Realm, fundamentally, it's not too different from other major cities."

"Very vibrant," Laras added, her tone softer. "Perhaps because of the many temples and sacred places along the streets. I felt peaceful and calm throughout the journey."

The images of the grand temples they had passed flashed through her mind—ornately carved structures with ritual banners fluttering gently, robed priests solemnly carrying offerings, and mystical lights enveloping certain sacred sites. These elements made the city feel more sacred compared to other places they had visited.

Lein nodded, understanding their sentiments. "That's because this city's primary power lies in the Faithwardens," he explained casually. "They have a deep belief in a certain deity, and their energy relies on faith."

He placed his fork down and leaned back into his chair before continuing, "You have three days to explore this city, including the nearby towns. Learn how they live and their customs. It might be useful in the future."

"Understood, Brother Lein," Efan and Laras responded almost simultaneously.

After a few minutes, they finished their meal and took their leave. Laras and Efan left the room, leaving Lein alone.

Sitting in his chair, Lein gazed out the window. Solareon still shone in the darkness of the night, a sea of golden lights glowing among the grand buildings, resembling stars that had descended to the earth. The night air felt calm, only occasionally disturbed by the silhouettes of people still active in the streets.

He took a deep breath and opened his status panel. His eyes scanned the series of information that appeared before him until his gaze locked onto the promotion requirements.

A faint smile formed on his lips. "I'm only missing Void Essence and three Fundamental Law Seeds," he murmured, his tone carrying an enthusiasm that was hard to hide.

However, as he reread the requirements, his expression shifted slightly. He leaned back in his chair, his fingers tapping lightly on the armrest—a habit of his when deep in thought.

"Void Essence..." Lein furrowed his brows. "This seems to be the hardest to find."

His mind spun, trying to recall any information he had read or heard about the whereabouts of that rare essence. But nothing came to the surface clearly.

"And also," he continued, now with a more serious tone, "I need a mentor to understand the Fundamental Law Seeds."

Ascending to the King level wasn't just about fulfilling material requirements but also comprehending the essence of the fundamental laws of the universe. Without the right guidance, the journey would be meaningless.

He turned his gaze back to the window. This city was vast, full of powerful individuals and mysteries yet to be unraveled. "Where can I find them?" he whispered, as if asking the darkness outside.

Lein closed his system panel, then rose from his chair. He walked over to the small table beside the bed, staring at his reflection in the small mirror mounted on the wall.

His face had changed significantly. His black hair was now shorter, his eyes sharp and clear, his skin appearing brighter than before. He exhaled softly, allowing a moment of silence to envelop his thoughts.

"Huft... I wonder how Nita and the others are doing," he murmured, thinking about his younger sister.

A slight longing crept into his heart. He hoped they were all safe, especially amidst the current uncertain situation.

Lein shifted his gaze away from the mirror and walked toward the bed. As soon as his body touched the soft mattress, the exhaustion he had ignored began to take over. Without further thought, he let himself sink into the warmth of the blanket, allowing his consciousness to slowly fade away.
