Floating Islands: SSS Gacha System

Chapter 151 - 151 - The First Armors Are Forged

Atlas had only one week since his meeting with Luna, and within that time, he had to put his plan into full motion to completely annihilate Alliance B. Because of this, his daily schedule had become more grueling than ever—less rest, more battles, and an ever-increasing workload.

He had already crafted a meticulously planned strategy alongside his elite subordinates, a plan that was merely waiting for the perfect moment to be set into motion. He could not afford even a single mistake—this was the deciding factor that would determine whether his chances of victory were high or if everything would fall apart.

Meanwhile, the hunt for monster spiders and the excavation of ores in the two caves continued. Even at this point, Baldric had successfully completed four new Soulbinding Armors—a remarkable feat considering all the effort they had put into gathering the materials for crafting these magnificent pieces.

However… This was far from over. Atlas needed these armors in large numbers. Four would never be enough if he wanted to equip all his troops with the same Soulbinding Armor.

At that moment, Atlas stood beside Baldric, who was seated in front of his makeshift forging tools. Before them were four completed armor sets—the final product of Baldric's craftsmanship. Holding and seeing them firsthand only made Atlas even more eager to claim this island entirely for himself.

"Hah! Unfortunately, the armor's grade can only be determined once it's bound to someone," Baldric remarked.

Atlas nodded slowly, accepting the fact. "The armor grade gifted by the System, both mine and Morganna's, is Epic-grade. I don't know if there's a possibility that the system could produce something even higher."

He fell silent for a moment, studying the Soulbinding Armor blueprint once again. It clearly indicated that the item had the potential to range from Elite-grade to Legendary-grade. Just reading the word Legendary sent a wave of excitement through Atlas, fueling his desire to obtain that highest-tier armor.

Just imagine—he already had a Legendary-grade Spear, and if he added a full set of Legendary-grade armor on top of that…

He took a deep breath, picturing the kind of grand battles he could wage with such power.

At this point, he could feel it—an insatiable thirst for battle.

Was this what being a Lord in constant struggle did to someone? Did it truly shape a person to crave combat like this?

"I can make some modifications," Baldric said. "I'll try to expose the armor grade without having to bind it to someone first. Because… if it must be bound before revealing its grade, that doesn't sound ideal. Especially when we want to ensure that the highest possible grade goes to the most important and deserving individuals among us."

Baldric glanced at Atlas with determination. "I hope, at the very least, you—the Lord—will be the one wearing a Legendary-grade armor, Atlas."

Atlas nodded slowly. "I understand. At the very least, we now have four Soulbinding Armors. We can start distributing them to those who are ready to use them."

Atlas then discussed who would be the most suitable to receive the four armors in this initial batch.

At first, he considered giving them to his elite subordinates first. However, after some deliberation—especially with input from Edrik and Kurogasa—he started reconsidering.

The elite subordinates who were currently with him were, at the very least, the most prepared, the most skilled, and the most capable of handling challenges at their current level.

Take Kurogasa, for example—an assassin who could fight by exploiting his enemy's openings and vanish into the shadows when pressured. The same applied to Edrik, whose natural talent allowed him to escape combat and stay hidden when necessary.

Then there was Baldric, who had the strongest defense among them. Because of that, it felt like he needed the armor less than the others.

And Lyrassa? Her healing abilities were already powerful for the entire team, let alone for herself. She had a set of skills that allowed her to sustain herself exceptionally well.

With all of this in mind, Atlas ultimately decided to give the first batch of Soulbinding Armor to the team leaders—which included Garen, Kaida, and Veylor. And for the last piece, he chose Mira.

Well, yeah… as for Mira, his reason was simple. Among all his elite subordinates, she had the wildest and most brutal fighting style—even more so than Morganna. The difference was that Morganna had incredible healing potential, allowing her to sustain herself in battle. Meanwhile, Mira… she lacked the means to protect herself. So, this armor was a perfect fit for her.

Finally, Atlas handed over the Soulbinding Armor to the four of them.

"The rest will get theirs too. Everyone will receive one in turns," he assured the group.

"Thank you, My Lord," the team leaders responded as they accepted their armor.

But when it came to Mira, her reaction was… a bit different.

The bunny girl stood frozen, her mouth slightly open, her eyes wide with shock as she stared at Atlas. "My Lord… this is for me?!"

"Yes… take it. Its grade is—" But before Atlas could even finish his sentence, Mira dashed forward and threw herself at him, wrapping him in a tight embrace.

He let out a long sigh.

"My Lord… you're so kind… huaa…."

But instead of her usual excitement, the bunny girl suddenly started crying.

"Yes, now put it on. That way, you can fight more safely, okay?"

"Thank you, My Lord… I'm so happy… you're so kind… I'll fight harder and kill even more enemies with this armor! I promise I'll make sure they never dare to bother you again!"

"Yes, Mira… that's enough…" Atlas began struggling for breath as Mira's grip tightened around him.

"Now, put on the armor."

The surrounding troops who had been watching the scene fell silent—not out of surprise, but because Mira's words had moved them as well.

"That's enough, Mira…"

Atlas tried to get her to let go. If this went on any longer, he might start losing his composure. Because… this girl… Mira… agh!

Atlas felt himself slipping—why was he suddenly on the verge of tearing up too?

"My Lord, I've never received a gift this valuable before…" Mira continued, her voice trembling.

Atlas gently patted her shoulder. In an instant, the bunny girl hopped back, her face completely transformed—now bright with joy, a wide smile stretching across her lips. And… oh no… why was Atlas getting hit by Mira's cuteness again?!

"My Lord, thank you!"

"Yes! Now put it on! Bind the armor to yourselves, and then you'll find out what grade it is," Atlas said, quickly diverting his gaze from Mira's innocent—and insanely cute—expression.

Once the team leaders bound the armor to their bodies, the transformation began. Garen, Kaida, and Veylor watched as a new layer of energy flowed across their bodies, shaping itself into its final form before fully materializing into their new appearance.

"Woah… this is so cool! Hahaha!" Kaida exclaimed as she admired her new armor.

Though it wasn't too different from the mage robe she usually wore—one that resembled a slightly open yukata—this new armor didn't fully cover her entire body.

I mean… why did it have to leave her thighs exposed? Why not just cover everything?

With its fiery red hue, it looked far more formidable. Yet, thanks to its tight fit and the layered robe draped over it, her figure somehow became even more eye-catching, making it hard to look away.

"That looks great on you, Kaida," Atlas said, giving her a thumbs-up.

On the other side, Garen now wore an imposing black armor with cracks of fire glowing through parts of it. He looked every bit like the powerful and sturdy tanker that he was.

"Ah, this is incredible," Garen said.

Meanwhile, Veylor, the wolf beastkin, had received an armor that managed to be both sturdy and flexible—a perfect complement to his melee combat style, which relied on swift and fluid movements.

And then… there was Mira.

Her armor, a combination of white and purple, was a stark contrast to the simple gardener-like outfit she usually wore.

"My Lord, this is so cute!" Mira said excitedly.

"Yes, very cute," Atlas responded.

Once the four of them had finished admiring their new armor, Atlas's curiosity turned to something even more important—their grades.

"What about the grades?" Atlas asked, eager to know. "It should range from Elite, Epic, Unique, all the way to Legendary."
