Chapter 726: Chapter 140 Emperor Hall Showdown (Vote for Monthly Ticket)
Li Hao’s proposal was accepted by the Yu Divine Dynasty.
Subsequently, a Divine Dynasty Prince came forth to invite Li Hao to the Emperor Hall of the Yu Divine Dynasty, where he was to leave a blood signature on the Emperor Stone Dragon Seal in order to become an official tribute of the Divine Dynasty.
When the Divine Dynasty faced difficulties, activating the Emperor Stone Dragon Seal could summon the tributes within the Divine Dynasty. If the tribute was unwilling to lend their power, they would suffer backlash from the Emperor Stone Dragon Seal, resulting in damage to their cultivation.
If the tribute was unable to attend in person, they could still respond to the call through the Emperor Stone Dragon Seal, projecting an avatar to participate in battle, thus contributing their strength.
In simple terms, this was akin to a sort of coercive contract.
Li Hao understood that to gain something, something must be lost. To take someone’s money and ward off their disasters was the same principle with Incense Fire.
Within the Saint Realm, Incense Fire was not just a source of power, but akin to the currency used by mortals. This was why competing for Incense Fire from Saints was extraordinarily difficult.
It was like trying to rob the wealthy of their riches, a matter of life or death.
Sacrificial Mountain was not far from the Imperial Capital of the Yu Divine Dynasty. Accompanying Li Hao were three individuals, two men and one woman, among them one man was tall and stood erect, wearing a red Divine Robe with a lustrous shimmer, holding a spear that seemed to be made of molten lava, his gaze domineering, and by his side was the Crown Prince of the Yu Divine Dynasty.
The other man and woman also appeared very young. The woman’s eyes were silver, which reminded Li Hao of the peculiar eyes of the Haoyue Saint Son.
Clearly, those who had been invited by the Divine Dynasty were no ordinary individuals.
The Imperial City of the Yu Divine Dynasty was extremely majestic, spanning tens of thousands of miles with the Emperor Hall towering high, adorned with dragon pillars that symbolized the seascapes of the ocean.
Led by Prince Gui Haifeng, the group arrived inside the Emperor Hall and met the monarch of the Divine Dynasty.
Emperor Canghai sat on his dragon throne, with a lean and long face exuding dignity. He looked to be in his sixties, with only a few strands of white hair at his temples.
Reportedly a Half-Saint Realm being, one foot stepping through the Dao Law Realm without yet solidifying his own Saint Path, his lifespan was incredibly long. He had numerous consort and children, with several hundreds of offspring, many of whom inherited his bloodline, were monstrous in talent, and strong Dao Law Realm practitioners.
The court atmosphere was imposing, with civil and military officials arrayed on either side, all of them gazing at the four new tributes of the Yu Divine Dynasty.
They were to remember these individuals, cautioning the younger generation in their families to avoid provoking them in the future.@@novelbin@@
Those who had long served as officials in the Divine Dynasty knew to warn their family’s offspring to keep their eyes peeled; otherwise, they could easily bring disaster upon their clan.
“Four talents of heaven and earth, all dragons and phoenixes among men, now become our tributes of Canghai. As long as Canghai exists, we can provide you with eternal tribute, your fame sung through the ages!”
Emperor Canghai said with a smile to Li Hao and the other three.
After the brief pleasantries, Emperor Canghai took out the Emperor Stone Dragon Seal, allowing Li Hao and the others to drip their blood on it.
Once the blood was given, Emperor Canghai set about bestowing titles on the four in the great hall, rewarding them with tribute waist tokens. Within the Yu Divine Dynasty, their status was just below the Emperor, enjoying the privileges of a Divine Marquis. They could even command forces of under a hundred thousand, and there were also salaries involved, but the gold and silver rewards were merely peripheral.
Afterward, he led the four to the inner hall, where only Emperor Canghai and the accompanying Crown Prince discussed the matters of Incense Fire.
“All of your demands have been met, your Majesty,” began the Emperor with a smile. “Today master craftsmen shall come to measure for your Golden Bodies, and from this day forward temples shall be built, and Golden Bodies erected in your name across the Divine Dynasty lands, commanded by the marshal, who shall spread your fame and valiant deeds throughout the cities.”
Emperor Canghai smiled and said, “The greater your achievements, the more legendary your tales, the more Incense Fire you’ll garner, and it could even spread beyond your own cities to other places.”
Incense Fire offerings, besides building temples and casting Golden Bodies to spread one’s honorable name, if one’s own reputation and deeds were exceedingly renowned, would also garner spontaneous offerings of Incense Fire.
Therefore, acquiring Incense Fire was challenging; the commoners would worship the strongest Saints, and to make them switch their faith to oneself, many methods would be necessary.
Li Hao, with his prominent reputation in the Dayu Divine Dynasty, found the process effortless. As the sacrificial Incense Fire was collected and no longer reversed through the formations of the city where the Five Divine General Mansions were located, the scattered Incense Fire soon transferred onto him.
Seeing that the emperor had everything prepared, Li Hao nodded with no objections.
“Your Majesty, when shall I wed Princess Yun Ji?” asked the youth in the red robe holding the molten-cast divine spear, calmly.
“You may set the wedding date yourself,” Emperor Canghai said with a smile.
“Then let it be after I take first place in this battle; we’ll hold it immediately. There won’t be time afterward, with the conflicts against the Three Great Sacred Lands ahead,” stated the red-robed youth.
His words caused the other man and woman to frown slightly. His indifferent demeanor conveyed a confidence as if this were only to be expected, which both of them found slightly disconcerting.
“This first place won’t be so easily claimed, will it?” remarked the youth in the purple robe with a cold look in his eyes, speaking calmly. He too desired first place in this battle; if he couldn’t even secure first place amongst freemen, how would he compete with the Heavenly Pride Saint Sons of the Three Great Sacred Lands for a spot to represent the Canglan Realm?
“Hm?” The red-robed youth, upon hearing this, glanced over with an icy gaze, his body exuding a murderous aura: “Do you have an objection?”
The purple-robed youth squinted his eyes and said, “No objection per se, just concerned someone might get tongue-tied from talking big!”
During the exchange, he looked to Emperor Canghai, slightly bowed, and said, “Your Majesty, is marrying Princess Yun Ji a condition for becoming a tribute as well? If so, since I have no princess to admire, could I request an additional two cities’ worth of Incense Fire?”
Emperor Canghai suddenly found himself in a difficult position. Considering the other party’s strength, offering five cities’ worth of Incense Fire seemed reasonable, but anything more would be unprofitable.
What do you think?
