Chapter 822 - 822 Eating Ginseng_1

Chapter 822: Chapter 822 Eating Ginseng_1

Actually, Christopher Simonson was just overthinking. The only people who could make Purple Summers feel wronged were those she cared about. As for the ones she didn’t care about, she wouldn’t even bother to give them a second glance, so how could she feel wronged?

After talking with Christopher Simonson at the hospital for a while, Purple Summers and Caitlin Carter returned to the Presidential Palace.

They arrived just in time for dinner, which was quietly finished as usual without the elderly lady making an appearance.

Purple Summers had not been eating well lately and hardly touched the food, instead, she took a fresh ginseng root from the kitchen to chew on.

As she was going upstairs, she encountered the elderly lady, who initially had no intention of acknowledging Purple Summers. However, upon seeing the American ginseng in Purple Summers’ hand, she couldn’t resist scoffing, “Haven’t you ever eaten ginseng before? Eating it like it’s a cucumber.”

Purple Summers looked at the ginseng in her hand and mumbled with her mouth full, “I have eaten it before. Normally it’s used to make soup or soaked in water, but lately I’ve had too much water and just wanted to eat it directly for better nutrient absorption, though it’s a bit bitter.”

...

It would have been better if she hadn’t explained. Once she did, the elderly lady felt as if Purple Summers was mocking her lack of sophistication. She became furious and said, “Do I need you to tell me that? Of course, I know that ginseng can be chewed on. Others slice it and chew it piece by piece. Look at you, where are your manners?! Only people from the countryside eat like that!”

Purple Summers wasn’t angry, she just quietly looked at the elderly lady and continued to chew on the fresh ginseng slowly.

The elderly lady, feeling stared down by her, grew even angrier. Just as she was about to explode, Purple Summers said, “Old Lady Simonson, your bad temper indicates that you must have excessive liver fire. My mom once said that people with excessive liver fire tend to have white hair at the temples. I see that Old Master Simonson is a few years older than you, yet it seems he has less white hair than you do. You might also want to eat some ginseng to boost your energy and clear the fire.”

Old Master Simonson was seventy this year while the elderly lady was slightly younger, around sixty-five. Yet looking at the two of them, you couldn’t tell there was an age difference.

Being told she has a bad temper and more white hair, the elderly lady suddenly felt a rush of anger and glared with wide eyes, “You! … What do you mean?! Are you saying I’m old?!!”

“It wasn’t me who said it,” Purple Summers shook her head. “My mom was the one who mentioned it. She comes from a family of traditional medicine, so she couldn’t be wrong.”

The elderly lady, unaware that Purple Summers was referring to Atra Blanc, assumed she was using Meredith Richards to suppress her and was uncontrollably furious. She shouted, “My health is excellent! It’s none of your business! It seems like you’re cursing me on purpose! Spouting such nonsense, it’s utterly outrageous!”

Purple Summers took another bite of the ginseng and chewed, “You really should eat some ginseng.”

After speaking, she paid no attention to how the elderly lady reacted and went straight to her room.

After closing her door, she heard roaring from the hallway. Purple Summers locked her door, put on headphones, and lay on the bed to read a book.

The elderly lady was making a scene in the hallway, and nearly everyone in the house could hear it.

Violet Nelson knew that the elderly lady was lashing out at Purple Summers. She was more than happy to see the argument escalate and naturally did not try to intervene.

Caitlin Carter had the intention to mediate, but before she could even open her mouth, she was berated by the elderly lady.

After venting on Caitlin Carter without feeling any better, the elderly lady stomped back to her room, still seething with anger.

After Old Master Simonson finished his talk with the chief of staff and returned to his room, he found a shattered mirror on the floor and the elderly lady sitting on the edge of the bed with a gloomy face.

“What happened here?” Old Master Simonson was taken aback.

As soon as the elderly lady saw him return, she immediately started scrutinizing his temples! Seventy is a rare age, and Old Master Simonson’s hair, a mixture of black and white, didn’t have all that much white. Moreover, with his son’s illness showing promise of improvement, his spirits were high, and he looked younger than his actual age.

The elderly lady, thinking about her almost entirely white temples, became even more furious.

“I have managed the Simonson Family all my life, working my heart out! And how comfortable you are! No need to worry about anything, not even having as many white hairs as I do! At such an old age, who are you trying to look young for?! Why don’t you just dye all your hair black! You old shameless man!”

Old Master Simonson was caught off guard by the verbal assault and had no idea what was going on. His face turned an iron shade of blue.

“This is ridiculous!” Not wanting to argue with the elderly lady, he slammed the door and went to his study.
