Chapter 163 Hulu Xi Bai
The trip to Huai Mountain took a week.
It was even farther up north than the transport outpost.
The long and tiring journey took some morale out of the hundred disciples.
Some started to get agitated with each other.
After all, they weren't exactly on good terms with each other before this.
Lin Fan's team was relatively peaceful as each member had a clear objective.
And with Lin Fan as the one with overwhelming power over the others, no one dared to stick out too much.
Finally, when they arrived near the army post, everyone was so eager to start the mission that they didn't even bother to rest and regroup.
"I would suggest resting for the day and attacking at night. We need to reconnoiter the location and plan to our advantage."
The leader of the whole mission, a senior disciple from Qing Feng Sect, proposed, but the disciples in the other teams weren't too keen on that.
To them, the soldiers would be pushovers, and they couldn't understand why this senior disciple was so wary of them.
"I agree with senior martial brother," Lin Fan spoke up, and the other disciples kept quiet.
Lin Fan's words held much more weight as Lin Fan and his team had the most experience dealing with the soldiers.
The other disciples' prior missions were about dealing with the rebels and keeping peace in Quan Dynasty.
They reluctantly agreed.
This gave them time to scout the area and gather some information.
The army post seemed to be empty.
No one could be seen.
It was something they didn't expect.
"We might have to send in an advance team to check if this is a trap," the leader of the mission said.
They finally decided to send a team of disciples from Storm Fist Thunder Sect in.
Lin Fan and the rest would stay behind and be ready for any emergencies.
The army post looked like a small castle built in the middle of a valley, with huge rocky walls beside it.
Making it the only pathway up north.
Lin Fan and the rest watched as the team from Storm Fist Thunder Sect moved in.
It was eerily silent as they reached the huge door of the army post.
Creak.
As the huge doors opened and the disciples from the Storm Fist Thunder Sect moved in, huge rocks came down from the walls.
Footsteps running in unison could be heard, and finally screams from the Storm Fist Thunder Sect disciples.
"Ambush!"@@novelbin@@
"How despicable!"
When the other disciples heard the screams, they couldn't hold back anymore, and every one of them ran toward the army post.
The leader of the mission tried to stop them, but it was to no avail.
These weren't trained and disciplined soldiers after all.
"So, what are we waiting for? Time to show them what we are made of," Lai Ming asked as he was eager to join in the fight.
"Haven't you learned anything? There's someone behind the ambush, and we should take them down instead," Lai Qing rolled his eyes and said.
"Lai Qing is right; there is our target," Lin Fan pointed at a group of men standing on the wall of the army post.
They didn't dress like Tan Xiao Yao's soldiers as they only had clothes with lots of animal fur.

"Let us handle the two on the left." There were six of these strange-looking men, and each of Lin Fan's team allocated themselves who to take on.
Lin Fan had no choice but to be up against the man in the middle, who looked like the commander of the group.
With everything in place, they ran and leaped onto the wall.
"Haha, I can't believe it, some of the cowards have brains!" Hulu Xi Bai laughed as he saw Lin Fan's team coming at them.
"Let us handle them," his men said and went head-on with Lin Fan's team.
Zhao Jia Rui with her Yi Mei sword style attacked with sleek and vicious moves.
Her sword would change direction at the most sudden moments, taking her opponent by surprise.
Using his double sword, Ho Ming got into a tussle with his opponent who was using a huge, curved sword.
The Lai brothers coordinated with great harmony and dealt a serious challenge to their opponent.
Hu Tuo was quiet as usual and dealt with his opponent with the utmost caution.
"Where are you looking? Your opponent is me," Lin Fan said as he walked up to Hulu Xi Bai.
A familiar sound erupted in his mind.
[Ding!]
[Detected soul with malevolent intent incoming!]
[Terminate person with malevolent intent for 400 vengeance points.]
Lin Fan looked at the vengeance and heightened his cautiousness.
This Hulu Xi Bai was most likely at Core Formation Level.
Hulu Xi Bai towered over Lin Fan at two meters tall; he wasted no time and drew out his curved sword.
The curved sword shone brightly in a red glow in the bright sunlight.
Gallop.
With a slash, Hulu Xi Bai unleashed a horde of galloping horses toward Lin Fan.
They were in the form of flames, burning brightly, and the temperature in the surroundings immediately rose, burning everything in their paths.
Lin Fan took out his hammers and smashed them at the horses.
Thud.
When the hammers hit the horses, they dissipated.
The Void Steel at the edge of the hammers nullified all elemental attacks.
Hulu Xi Bai didn't expect his attack to be so easily handled by Lin Fan.
He changed strategy immediately.
With his curved sword, he slashed down at Lin Fan, unleashing a bright glowing red slashing wave at Lin Fan.
Lin Fan used the Shadow Slip ability, and the slashing wave went right through him.
Boom.
Using the Chain Leap, Lin Fan came in front of Hulu Xi Bai.
He wasted no time and swung his hammers up at Hulu Xi Bai's chin.
Thud.
It hit Hulu Xi Bai's chin but didn't do much damage.
Hulu Xi Bai held one of his huge hands onto Lin Fan's neck, lifting him up to his eye level.
He then thrust his curved sword into Lin Fan's abdomen.
Thud.
What do you think?
