Chapter 212 Cultivation Time
Zhang Yi Nian and Zhao Ming Ye were impressed with Guo He Ru's knowledge.
"Well done, I knew the younger generation would bring new hope."
Zhang Yi Nian praised Guo He Ru and said, "I will try to get senior martial uncle back.
"The peak lords would discuss among ourselves whether to attack Tai Mountain.
"In the meantime, you two better stay put in the sect, leave only when necessary and be on high alert."
He said and glanced over at Lin Fan and Zhang Xi.
Zhang Xi gave him a sulking look.
"Here, use these if you have to," Zhang Yi Nian's heart turned soft at the sight, and he threw two face masks at them.
Lin Fan caught them and saw that they were the artifacts Hun Yen Kun had used before.
The masks allowed the user to change their looks.
The face masks would definitely come in handy when they attacked Tai Mountain.
Zhang Yi Nian and Zhao Ming Ye left the main hall next, presumably to go meet with the other peak lords. Stay updated via My Virtual Library Empire
"So, am I going to climb the ranks now? Did you see how I was praised by the peak lord?" Guo He Ru said and held his head up high.
Lin Fan rolled his eyes and said, "I wish it was that easy. Thanks for the Heavenly Rejuvenate Pills. They saved my senior martial brother's life."
Guo He Ru was glad to hear that and said, "I have the next batch ready soon. But you might want to visit your senior martial brother first. I heard he is awake now."
"Really? That's good news. Zhang Xi, do you want to come?" Lin Fan turned and asked Zhang Xi.
Zhang Xi nodded as she was also eager to see Sun Hai again.
…
Sun Hai was staring at the ceiling when Lin Fan entered the room.
Lin Fan saw that he was looking better, with his skin now radiant with life, compared to his previous condition.
"Senior martial brother, how are you feeling?" Lin Fan asked.
"I'm feeling better… I tried to save them, the three of them. They were so young and had so much potential…"
Sun Hai mumbled about how the three disciples were experimented on and how he was unable to do anything to help.
Li Rong was too powerful for him.
Zhang Xi kept her head down as she heard the fate of the three disciples.
It had been ages since the Physique Peak had new disciples, and it never occurred to her that this would be their destiny.
Dying as guinea pigs for some mad lady's experiments.
She clenched her fist so hard that her knuckles turned white.
Lin Fan patted her on the back to try and console her.
After he felt her calm down a bit, he asked Sun Hai, "What are Li Rong's abilities or techniques?"
He wanted to find out more about his enemy before facing her.
Sun Hai tried very hard to recall.
He shook his head and said, "There wasn't much I remembered. The pain had gotten to me after a day."
"It's all right. Have a good rest," Lin Fan said and was ready to leave.
But Sun Hai held onto his hand and said, "She is able to control the spirits of the dead."
"Ghost Cultivator?" Lin Fan asked.
"I'm not sure, but she was able to make the spirits follow her orders."
"Thanks, I'll keep that in mind," Lin Fan said.
After they chatted for a few more moments, Sun Hai got tired, and they left for him to rest.
…
Wooden hut.
When Lin Fan got back to the wooden hut, he finally felt tired as the tension went away in the familiar surroundings.
Ho Jie greeted him and helped cook him a meal.
He could see that Lin Fan was deep in his own thoughts.
Lin Fan was thinking about the different possibilities.
What they knew about Li Rong might have been what she had allowed them to know.
Leading them into her trap.
It might also be the case that he was overthinking it.
But he had no other choice other than to pursue whatever leads they had.
One thing was sure: he had to get stronger as soon as possible.
Only when you are powerful enough can you be truly safe.
"Feeling troubled? You can ask Ho Ming to help if you need to," Ho Jie said as he put down a bowl of noodles in front of Lin Fan.
"I will, when the time comes," Lin Fan said.
He picked up a pair of chopsticks and started slurping up the noodles.
It definitely felt great to be back at the wooden hut.
When it was nighttime and Ho Jie was asleep, Lin Fan took out the scorpion tail he had in his bracelet storage artifact.
He tried to cultivate the acid venom of the scorpion with his Devouring Qi to Poison Transformation Technique.
First, when the acid venom was absorbed into his body, he felt his innards burning from the acid venom.
He quickly used his Qi, directed it to his veins and innards, and tried to insulate them from the acid venom.
It alleviated the pain a little.
That was enough for him to absorb the acid venom successfully into his poison gland.
After he was done with the poison cultivation, he turned his focus to the Spirit Fold of Myriad Forms.
Lin Fan started with two paper men, and this time it was relatively easy for him to do so.
So he went on and tried out with four paper men.
This took up twice as much Qi and focus from Lin Fan.
He was done and had to take a break after half an hour of cultivation with four paper men.
And after that was eight paper men, which was the maximum number he could handle.
Lin Fan needed to level up those techniques that were unknown to his family for him to have an edge over them.
These two would be his trump card other than what he had in his arsenal of survival.
When he finally used up his Qi and energy, Lin Fan had to call it a day and went to bed.
What do you think?
