Chapter 215 Daoist Master Lee
When Lin Fan got into the temple, he could hear commotion behind his back.
"What are you trying to do?"
"These fanatics again."
"Arrest them!"
The constables of Hong Feng City had finally come and arrested the disciples of the Lady Saint.
They resisted the arrest, and a brawl broke out between the constables and the disciples.
Chaos ensued as the constables had a hard time trying to subdue the disciples.
The disciples would always get up again after being beaten down to the ground with the constables' wooden staffs.
Finally, the lead constable couldn't take it anymore and gave the order to use lethal force.
By now, Lin Fan had followed Ho Ming and Ho Jie into the temple.
It was old and dimly lit.
Walking into the main hall, he saw a deity on the altar which he couldn't recognize.@@novelbin@@
The deity was covered with cobwebs and dust.
He had to wave his hands in front of his nose to try and keep the dust in the air away.
"Here," Ho Jie said and led him to a room behind the main hall.
It was a bedroom with an old man sitting on the bed.
The old man was wearing a Daoist robe with gray hair and a long gray beard.
He seemed to be meditating with his eyes closed.
"Daoist Master Lee, we are here." Ho Jie tapped the old man on his shoulders.
Daoist Master Lee opened his eyes and scanned the room.
He smiled, nodded at Ho Ming and Ho Jie, then turned and looked at Lin Fan.
His eyes opened wide when he saw Lin Fan. He pointed at Lin Fan and said softly, "Interesting. This man's cultivation root is odd and it's something I've never seen before."
"Yes, Daoist Master Lee. We are aware of that," Ho Jie replied, as he was well aware of Lin Fan's abilities.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Daoist Master Lee," Lin Fan bowed and greeted the old man.
He continued and said, "I'm here to borrow the artifacts against the Ghost Cultivators. They are already creating havoc in Hong Feng City."
"Ah. The artifacts. Great to see young cultivators taking up the responsibilities of upholding the righteous Dao." Daoist Master Lee moved slowly and opened a small bundle next to him.
There were two items inside it.
One was a Peach Wood Sword, and the other a mirror in the shape of an eight trigram.
The Peach Wood Sword reminded Lin Fan of the one Jiu Shu used when he battled with Lin Fan.

The mirror looked ancient with some small cracks on it.
"This Peach Wood Sword can slice and maim any evil spirit. As for the mirror, it can repel the attacks of evil spirits. However, it can't affect evil spirits that are anything more than Soul Transformation Level."
Daoist Master Lee explained how the artifacts worked.
"But first, I need them to recognize you as their master," he said and motioned for Lin Fan to come forward.
"What do I need to do?" Lin Fan asked.
"Just give me your hand."
Lin Fan raised his right hand and extended it with the palm facing up to Daoist Master Lee.
He immediately felt pain in his right hand as he saw Daoist Master Lee swipe his finger across his palm.
Without any effort, Daoist Master Lee was able to cut Lin Fan's palm open.
Soon after, blood seeped out of the wound and Lin Fan saw some droplets of his blood fly towards the artifacts.
A chant echoed in the air.
Daoist Master Lee chanted softly in words that Lin Fan couldn't comprehend.
He immediately felt some of his energy draining away.
The artifacts started shaking violently.
Beads of sweat formed on Daoist Master Lee's forehead.
It was as if he was trying to make the artifacts recognize Lin Fan as their owner.
An attribute of artifacts that were Divine Level.
Lin Fan couldn't help with what Daoist Master Lee was doing.
He could only look anxiously as Daoist Master Lee tried his best to make the artifacts recognize him.
There were moments when he thought it was over when Daoist Master Lee had to stop and catch his breath.
Ho Ming and Ho Jie frowned as they looked on beside them.
"Huh!"
With a final loud gasp, Daoist Master Lee stopped his chanting and wiped the sweat off his forehead.
The artifacts lay still on the bed subsequently.
Daoist Master Lee then leaned his back against the wall and let his hands down.
He was now like a balloon, deflated of his energy.
Lin Fan quickly held onto Daoist Master Lee's shoulders.
"Thanks... You can take the artifacts with you now..." Daoist Master Lee said, and his eyes closed again.
Lin Fan checked his pulse and was relieved that it was not still.
He quickly helped Daoist Master Lee to lie down on the bed.
"Let's go and allow Daoist Master Lee to have some rest," he said and took the artifacts in his hands.
Images of previous battles with Ghost Cultivators came into his mind when he touched the artifacts.
They were all gruesome and tough battles as the Ghost Cultivators were without morals and used whatever they could to their advantage.
The knowledge of how to utilize the artifacts also came into his mind.
He had to inject his Qi into the artifacts to activate their attributes.
This exposure to the battles against Ghost Cultivators made Lin Fan wary of the battle ahead with Li Rong.
He was sure that she was already up to something sinister.
When they emerged from the temple, the scuffle between the constables and the disciples was already over.
All that was left were bloodstains on the ground and items left behind like shoes strewn around.
Few were on the streets; only people wandering around were those men he had seen on his way to Hong Feng City.
"Back to the inn first," Lin Fan said.
It was the best place to gather information for him to make sense of what was happening.
Ho Ming and Ho Jie nodded and followed him.
When they arrived at the inn, the waiters were guarding the entrance with wooden staffs in their hands.
What do you think?
