From Beast Abilities to Sect Grand Master

Zhang Xi came up to Lin Fan and asked, "Where is my father?"

She gave out a sigh of relief at the good news and turned anxious again.

Scenes of what might have happened to Zhang Yi Nian went through her mind uncontrollably.

Lin Fan shrugged and said, "Hey, what about me? Your beloved junior martial brother. Don't I deserve some care and concern too?"

He teased Zhang Xi trying to make her calm down.

She nudged at Sun Hai with her shoulder.

Sun Hai quickly slapped the back of his head and gave out a hearty laugh.

"Enough. You think I wouldn't know you are already scheming up with tougher cultivation routines for me?" Lin Fan said as he walked over to the dining table and poured himself a cup of tea.

"Speaking of cultivation. It's time for you to be in charge of getting new disciples," Zhang Xi said.

Lin Fan held his teacup in the air and froze for a moment.

He continued to bring the teacup to his mouth, took a sip, and said, "I shall try my best."

It was something he had expected sooner or later.

The Physique Peak had some new disciples previously, but they were all dead due to the Lady Saint.

And with his ambition of getting to be Sect Master, it was a must to have more disciples under the Physique Peak.

"Come, sit down and talk over dinner." Ho Jie emerged from the back with two plates in his hand.

He placed them onto the table and invited Zhang Xi and Sun Hai to stay for the meal.

They nodded their heads and sat down at the table.

Lin Fan briefed them on what had happened and how, Zhao Ming Ye, wasn't out of danger yet.

Zhang Xi and Sun Hai frowned at what they heard.

Times would be much more unstable going forward.

Throughout the dynasties, any violent change of the Emperor often led to untold sufferings for the citizens of the empire.

"So, how do I go about recruiting new disciples for the Physique Peak? Wait till the next enrollment period?" Lin Fan asked.

He remembered how he had to wait for winter to pass before joining the Qing Feng Sect in spring the following year.

Zhang Xi with a piece of meat in her chopsticks, held it in the air, narrowed her eyes, and said, "Don't worry, I have a plan."

Lin Fan feigned a smile and continued to munch on his food.

Her plan was what he was worried about. He thought silently to himself.

As usual Lin Fan walked out into the woods to test out the new abilities.

He walked to the river and stood in the middle of the river to test his new abilities.

He did so as he didn't want to risk starting a forest fire.

When he activated the Magma Cataclysm ability, the water in his surroundings started to boil.

Steam rose, covering Lin Fan.

He let some of the magma seep out of his hands and dripped some of it into the water.

Boom!

A violent reaction occurred, and the water exploded.

Satisfied, Lin Fan leaped into the air using the Inferno Comet ability.

He shot up into the air like a fireball and left an orange trail in the sky.

When he came down back onto the ground, he was twice as fast.

Finally, when he hit the ground, the ground exploded.

Water that was flowing parted away and a crater could be seen where Lin Fan was standing.

Magma flowed inside the crater.

When the water finally flowed into the crater, steam rose again due to the high temperature.

Lin Fan then roared at the water flowing down into the crater with the Volcanic Roar ability.

The heat wave generated caused the water to evaporate, and the molten embers pelted into the water, creating pillars of rising steam all around the river.

Having tested out the new abilities, Lin Fan went back to the wooden hut.

As he walked back, he enjoyed the chill wind of the night and the howls of the night creatures.

With the Dark Lord and Emperor gone, the pressures that were constantly on his chest were finally gone.

He was finally able to enjoy some respite in these unpredictable times.
