Chapter 1081
Chapter 1081: 500 Water Cloud_1 Chapter 1081: 500 Water Cloud_1 “Did you find out?” Marcellus Dankworth took a drag of his cigarette before questioning his subordinate.
The subordinate respectfully handed over several pictures, Dankworth extinguished his cigarette in the ashtray and began to look through the photos.
The person in the photos was Aubree Groove, however, the angles were clearly taken secretly.
But even these unflattering angles, nor the high blur filter, couldn’t hide the young lady’s innate nobility.
“Perchers Goods Company?” A confident smirk spread across Marcellus’s face.
“It seems even God is helping me.”
“Get Alexander White to see me.”
His subordinate hesitated, “Alexander…
...
he is ill.”
“Ill?” Dankworth frowned, “His failure at a crucial time will cost him greatly.”
The subordinate wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, “Sir, there’s something eerie about this woman, and Alexander suffered a great loss under her.
I believe…”
The subordinate was delicately suggesting that she was not someone to be messed with.
Nevertheless, Marcellus, utterly consumed by desire, didn’t listen.
His mind was filled with the woman’s subtlest expressions; he couldn’t wait a moment longer.
“If I don’t see her tonight, then don’t bother showing up again.”
The subordinate hesitated before saying, “Sir, you have an appointment tonight with Mr.
Alvarez.”
Dankworth’s face darkened.
He had lost a lot of money in the stock market and had covertly used company funds.
The gap continued to widen, forcing him to sell a chemical company under his name to plug the deficit.
It should have been done before the New Year, but Bria Alvarez had gone abroad to negotiate business, thus leaving things for tonight.
Pressure from the company was growing, and should his father discover his misappropriation of funds, his disapproval would likely turn to disappointment.
He couldn’t afford to let the inheritance fall into the hands of Adam Dankworth.
After thinking, Marcellus decided the woman wasn’t going anywhere but the urgency of the funds was paramount.
“Then, tomorrow night.”
The subordinate had no choice but to comply and he reluctantly left.
Dankworth picked up his phone and noticed several missed calls, all from Vivian Hayes.
Having lost her child, Vivian Hayes was of no more value to him.
——
“Master McKay, here are all the materials on Blaise Group, please review.” In a five-star hotel suite, Finnian Moore respectfully handed over a tablet.
Master McKay hastily found a plausible reason to see the Mistress, but his non-stop journey had been exhausting.
“Tiernan Chemical Co., Ltd.?” Agave Rinto frowned.
Moore replied, “The Blaise Group is involved in import and export trade and maintains healthy partnerships with various companies.
Among them, Tiernan Group is a major producer of chemicals like perfumes, pharmaceuticals, and so on which are exported overseas via Blaise Group.”
This trip to Lostswa was merely an excuse for McKay to discuss acquisitions here, no more than a simple detour.
While the Blaise Group was not large, it had significant potential for development.
McKay planned to expand his industry in Lostswa, making the Blaise Group an excellent starting point.
The Rintos possessed the largest seaport and ships in Pethkids.
Establishing a logistics channel between Lostswa and Pethkids for the upgrade of the industrial chain would bring immense benefit to both parties.
While this could be seen as a casual detour on further consideration, it was apparent McKay had ulterior motives.
Moore appreciated his foresight.
“Master McKay, Tiernan will soon be sold to the Blaise Group, they will be one company.”
Agave Rinto’s eyes narrowed slightly as he let his fingers slide over the screen, scanning page after page.
“Does the company that produces PMK (Piperonyl Methyl Ketone) used in perfumes and pesticides have an export license?”
Moore was taken aback, “I’ll look into it immediately.”
PMK is a raw material for drug production and strictly regulated by customs, McKay seemed to have noticed something.
Such matters could be big or small.
Recently there was a smuggling case involving a shipping group, which crossed McKay’s line and he promptly ordered Ricky Wood to rectify it.
The larger the conglomerate, the more employees it had, thus making it harder to control.
A momentary lapse could cause a potentially critical problem.
Just as Moore was about to leave, Agave Rinto stopped him, “Clear up those rumors online, I don’t want to see any more negative news about her.”
Aubree Groove was unbothered, but he couldn’t tolerate it.
Moore acknowledged immediately and hastily left to handle it.
Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, the two o’clock afternoon sun shone diagonally on him, Agave Rinto raised his hand to rub his temples.
Lostswa was a city with intricate power dynamics, he shouldn’t have gotten involved.
But all he wanted was to have the ability to protect her when the storm arrived.
That’s all.
——
“Mr.
Alvarez, are you taking advantage of my vulnerability?
What happened to our agreed pricing, all of a sudden it changed?”
What do you think?
