Chapter 370 361 landing

"Nan Ma, don't you and Mr. Hu plan to do something?" Bai Zhongqi spoke up as the violent shaking of the spaceship forced him to hold onto something, while Bai Zhongqi Number Four had just been thrown out and slammed into the interior wall of the spaceship. If not for his sturdy body, his bones might have been broken.

Nan Ma sat calmly in his chair, defending himself, "Your Majesty, I'm not being lazy, it's just that even if I killed some of these creatures, it wouldn't help our situation. We don't know how many there are, but we do know that they can't breach our ship's shield. Rather than wasting my Star Energy, it would be better to save it in case we encounter other creatures when we land."

At that moment, Mr. Hu also added, "I really didn't expect that in a century, my planet would have become completely unrecognizable and even filled with dangers..."

Bai Zhongqi could tell that Mr. Hu was genuinely bewildered, not pretending. He had once suspected that Mr. Hu had led him into a trap, but it seemed that wasn't the case.

"Pilot, we need to make an emergency landing."

The small landing spaceship then adjusted its flight attitude, and although countless bat-like creatures with dog heads kept attacking, trying to tear and bite at the spaceship with their claws and gaping mouths, the spaceship was unscathed and started to descend towards the ground.

Even though Bai Zhongqi commanded an entire civilization, with strong technological and military power, on such a desolate and mysterious planet, he still had to deal with these creatures' taunts.

As the spaceship shakily descended to the ground, miraculously, the moment it settled motionless on the ground, all the dog-headed bats, as if blinded, ignored the spaceship on the ground, took flight, and dispersed.

Chief Bai Zhongqi, supporting himself on the window, watched as the sun slowly appeared and felt as though someone had played a trick on him.

"Do these creatures rely on something like ultrasonic waves to navigate? Once we landed, the ultrasonic feedback from our spaceship merged with that from the ground, so they couldn't make out the difference and left?"

"Or could it be that these creatures are simply the masters of the sky, possessing a strong territorial sense, hence they don't allow other flying objects in the sky? If that's the case, it might explain why our drones went missing."

Bai Zhongqi made two speculations, from the recent flight, he had clearly noticed that there was a strange situation in the planet's atmosphere: the effectiveness of radar was exceptionally short, meaning all electromagnetic waves were heavily dampened within the atmosphere. Waves that could detect hundreds of kilometers on Earth could only detect a kilometer on Taoran Star.

There were many things Bai Zhongqi couldn't be sure of, everything was filled with unknowns and mysteries, but this also caused his adrenaline to surge, sparking his interest.

In fact, he felt as if he were playing a VR game, seeing through the eyes of five Autochthonous Warriors, experiencing what they sensed through parameters shown in his neuro-nexus. Although this mode wasn't as real as using the Deep Sleep System, it was somewhat reminiscent of the burgeoning VR from the old days on Earth.

It was only then that Nan Ma unfastened his seatbelt and stuffed the cell phone he'd been holding back into his pocket. He chuckled and said, "If Your Majesty's guess is correct, and these creatures do not allow any flight, then we shouldn't continue using the spaceship as a vehicle."

Bai Zhongqi nodded, troubled by the issue. Post-enhancements in power and energy, Earth's vehicles were generally airborne, unfettered by terrain and more flexible. However, if flight capability were abolished, many vehicles from Iridium Star would lose their true purpose.

"Our Individual Armors are also capable of flying, but I still suggest we go old-fashioned and just walk, consider it a journey," Nan Ma suggested, even turning on his phone and setting it to video mode, ready to take a selfie.

Bai Zhongqi covered his face, "Don't record videos while working."

Nan Ma laughed out loud, not at all embarrassed, and stuffed the phone back into his pocket.

Bai Zhongqi Numbers One to Five took several cubic boxes out of the spaceship's storage. He pressed a button on one of the boxes, and the sides quickly assembled into a pair of wheels. These contraptions, resembling toys for children on Earth, were actually all-terrain solo vehicles manufactured by the Iridium Star people.

Upon opening the hatch, Bai Zhongqi jumped onto the two-wheeler, and his Battle Armor's feet immediately integrated with the vehicle, effectively turning it into an external component of the Battle Armor, controllable by it.

"I almost had these things removed from all landing ships originally, thinking that since the Battle Armors could fly, they were unnecessary. Now, it seems they really do have some use," Bai Zhongqi remarked. The structure of the all-terrain solo vehicles was not too complex, and the technology was simple, posing no cost issues for the highly capable manufacturers of Iridium Star, yet the vehicles were fast and could handle mountains and water with ease.

Nan Ma also got on with interest, saying, "This thing isn't bad, huh? Isn't there a civilian model?"

Bai Zhongqi routinely ignored him.

Mr. Hu originally didn't have Battle Armor, but for the mission, Bai Zhongqi Number Three took out a set from the spaceship, disabled some features, and handed it to Mr. Hu.

Mr. Hu wasn't familiar with how to operate it, so Bai Zhongqi assigned a Bionic Human to help him.

After the preparations were complete, Bai Zhongqi left three Bionic Humans to guard the spaceship and switched it to stealth mode.

Bai Zhongqi, along with Nan Ma and Mr. Hu, rode the two-wheelers rapidly across the vast grasslands. The grasslands were immense, low grass no more than ten centimeters tall covering the entire plain, leading to distant, gently rolling hills, presenting a liberating sight.

With such beauty, Bai Zhongqi couldn't help wondering if he had returned to the great Mongolian steppes of Earth. Yet the grasslands were eerily silent, no animals in sight, only grass everywhere. Enjoy more content from My Virtual Library Empire

"What could be the reason there are no animals on this grassland?" Mr. Hu wondered aloud.

Bai Zhongqi looked into the distance and replied, "Animals seek benefits and avoid harm. If a place is filled with danger, naturally they won't reside there."

Taoran Star was different from what had been imagined earlier; the radiation levels had dropped to safe levels, but the planet was still filled with oddities.

"So, are there still any humans on this planet?"
