Chapter 380 371 Not discussing cooperation

The terrified girl Ti looked on as her maid was dragged away by several thugs, her clothes torn apart, exposing the flesh beneath, and being violated by the assailants.

Ti couldn't imagine such things happening to her; she had never witnessed any ugliness from birth up to now. The Shelter was like her paradise, where she was carefully protected by her father, insulated from the ugly faces of the powerful.

She naturally assumed that everyone in the Shelter was her family, that all were kind-hearted. But when chaos erupted, those she considered family, the thugs, broke into the living quarters of the privileged and committed heinous crimes.

She closed her eyes; she lacked the courage to resist, but she was also unwilling to be humiliated by the thugs.

She dearly wished for someone like the heroes in the novels she read, to emerge from nowhere, defeat the villains, rescue her from this torment, and end this tragedy.

The thug in the lead reached out to Ti with a lustful sneer, but she dared not meet his evil gaze.

But after a moment, that hand never landed on her.

One of the thugs shouted, "Are you an idiot, why aren't you taking action? If you don't touch her, I will. This girl is the most beautiful in the Shelter."

Ti was afraid, but still, no one touched her,

She didn't dare open her eyes, instead cowering in the corner, trembling.

It wasn't until a hand was placed on her shoulder that she felt something different; this hand did not grope around, it simply rested there, gentle and somewhat warm.

Opening her eyes, Ti then saw a bald head...

"You're the foreigner from this afternoon," Ti said in surprise.

Nan Ma helped Ti to her feet, his grin as nonchalant as ever, as if completely unaware of the events unfolding around them. He asked, "Are you okay?"

Ti nodded and wiped the tears from her cheeks, "I'm fine."

It was then that Ti noticed the thugs from earlier were as if frozen in place, unable to move. Their faces still showed their grotesque lustful expressions, one hand still outstretched, but they were immobile.

"What happened to them?" Ti asked curiously.

Nan Ma chuckled, "They're stuck, can't move, it's obvious."

Ti tilted her head while looking at Nan Ma, "Did you do this? It's incredible."

Nan Ma chuckled stupidly, rubbing his bald head, "It's nothing."

He continued, "This Shelter is in chaos, the Hunting Group wants to seize power, and the lower-class residents have started rioting too. I reckon your dad won't be able to hold them off."

Ti found it hard to believe, "Why is this happening, why would everyone turn against my dad?"

Nan Ma shrugged, "I'm an outsider, I don't know what's going on here. Whether your dad survives, I can't say, but at least I can protect you."

Ti clasped her hands together, pleading, "You're so powerful, can you please help my dad? He's not a bad person, everyone must be mistaken."

Nan Ma shook his head, "Whether your dad is a bad person or not, whether others have misunderstood him, it won't change the fact that this uprising is happening."

Ti was extremely disappointed, but there was nothing she could do. She could only bow her head and remain silent.

The chaos in the Shelter had continued through the night before finally coming to an end.

The Hunting Group led by Bu ultimately overthrew the elite class, whose most relied upon security forces had been decimated by Bai Zhongqi in the early unrest at the prison block, and most of the security equipped with extraterrestrial weapons had been killed off as well.

The Hunting Group launched attacks at several key positions, and Bu took the opportunity to capture the mayor directly. The security personnel either surrendered or were killed by the members of the Hunting Group.

But Bu's heart was still not fully at ease. After taking control of the Shelter, the first thing he did was not to arrange any grand political affairs but to take Bang and others to his own place.

There, they made room for Bai Zhongqi the First, who was now "sleeping" inside.

Bu waited outside the room with great patience. He knew very well that it was these extraterrestrials who would ultimately decide the fate of the Shelter.

Watching his nephew standing there still harboring some minor grievances, Bu patted his shoulder and said, "Don't complain."

Bang muttered, "At a time like this, that guy is actually snoring away in the room."

Bu shook his head and said, "These extraterrestrials are not like those who organize the big alien marketplaces. They look just like us, and I imagine their thinking and behavior patterns are similar as well. Unlike the previous extraterrestrials who did not get involved in the affairs of the planets, these ones are a bit more proactive. If we can leverage their strength, perhaps we can achieve something even greater."

Bang, who was aware of his uncle's ambitions, asked excitedly, "Can we, like our forebears, eventually establish our settlement on the ground?"

Bu nodded emphatically, his eyes brimming with sharp light, "We definitely can."

Bai Zhongqi the First opened the door, pretending to rub his eyes as if he had really been asleep. As an Agent, his body certainly didn't require rest. While Bai Zhongqi did sleep for a while, it was on the comfortable, soft bed in the captain's quarters aboard the Sacred Falcon, not in the cramped, narrow single-room Shelter.

"Wow, to think so many people are waiting just for me to get up." Bai Zhongqi smiled and said to Bu, "Mr. Bu has come to find me specifically. May I ask what it is about?"

Bu, bowing his head, appeared very humble as he said, "Mr. Bai, we have taken control of the Shelter. Now the Shelter is ruled by its own people, and I would like to ask for your opinion. Do you have any instructions?"

Bai Zhongqi said, "You said it yourself; this is your Shelter's people's territory. What's the use of asking me?"

"You are our esteemed guest and important friend, so naturally, your opinion is very important to the Shelter. Now that the Hunting Group holds power in the Shelter, I hope to engage in deeper cooperation with Mr. Bai and the powerful civilization behind you."

Bai Zhongqi shook his head. "Cooperation is a matter of scale, and you do not know the size of the civilization I represent."

Bu, finding Bai Zhongqi's stance difficult to navigate, bit his lip and said, "We know that to you, our Shelter's power is too insignificant, but we are, after all, the local power. If there is anything you need us to do on Taoran Star, we will certainly do our utmost to complete it for you."

Bai Zhongqi laughed, "In exchange, do you hope to gain benefits from me?"

Bu nodded in acknowledgment.

"That's not impossible," Bai Zhongqi gave a reply.

He said, "We can talk about other things later. Right now, I need to take a look at the alien's big marketplace."

Bu knew that this was Bai Zhongqi's main goal and immediately agreed, "We will assign specialized Hunting Group personnel to accompany you, ensuring that we help you achieve your goal."
