Although it was different from truly ruling a stellar system, the celestial collector still used his "Virtual Universe System" to exploit these celestial bodies as much as possible.

In the glass bead slot of the Virtual Universe System, Bai Zhongqi saw several beads that were originally used by the Elder Race. The device was not activated, so the worlds inside the glass beads remained frozen in time.

According to the records in the hardcover book, the celestial collector would directly place glass beads containing resource planets into the system. Once time was initiated, mining machines would enter. Due to the control of time flow, the celestial collector was able to turn an entire planet into sorted materials for the production of various other products within an extremely short actual time.

The energy supply was also simple. The technology of the Elder Race was highly developed. Aside from basic nuclear and antimatter energy sources, the Elder Race could even collect Void energy produced when the existence of matter was eradicated. This energy was difficult to gather, but sometimes after a universe perished, large amounts of energy would disperse chaotically into the Void. With the right collection methods, this energy was virtually inexhaustible.

The Virtual Universe System could connect to the energy on the Golden Great Sail Ship, and Bai Zhongqi saw a simpler method: the celestial collector had procured three glass beads containing stars, then used the energy released from the stars to sustain life on the celestial bodies and supply various mining and other devices.

"Even the technology of the Iridium Star people seems like that of kindergarten children who haven't started school yet in the face of the unfathomable technology of the Elder Race," Bai Zhongqi couldn't help but marvel.

What slightly regretted him was that the ship originally had many Virtual Universe Systems, but now only this one was operational, with a limit of 32 glass beads. It could create a pseudo-universe galaxy. But Bai Zhongqi did not possess the relevant technology, meaning he couldn't replicate the Virtual Universe Systems.

By following your ideas and continuously collecting DNA, the evolution of the Swarm has exceeded expectations. It has now reached the standard of a Level 25 Civilization. Although the Swarm Civilization may not be as balanced as many others, in terms of warfare, the vast armies of the Swarm with their 'ocean of insects' tactic are indeed terrifying."

Bai Zhongqi nodded and said, "In that case, perhaps we should enhance the scale of the Swarm's Enslaved Beasts."

Initially, when Bai Zhongqi left the First Universe with Ling'er five thousand years ago, due to the appearance of the Supreme Command, the Enslaved Beasts she had created mostly broke away from the Swarm and became part of the Iridium Star. Bai Zhongqi later acquired some DNA from certain planets and expanded to some extent, but it was still relatively limited.

Expansion for a bio-technological civilization like the Swarm wasn't much different from other civilizations—it undoubtedly required two things: matter and energy.

"We've acquired celestial bodies from the Golden Great Sail Ship; the former collector had already separated a large amount of spare materials. Energy supply isn't an issue, either. I'll place the Insect Nest in the Virtual Universe, accelerate time to the fastest I can manage, and continuously produce Enslaved Beasts."

Ling'er asked with a smile, "There is no time in the Void—are you planning to build a Fleet powerful enough to crush the Star Alliance before seeking revenge?"

Bai Zhongqi sighed, "I too wish it were that simple. We've merely traveled through the Second Universe twice, and eighteen years have passed. I've roughly figured out the pattern. Although the Mothership's self-contained Universe allows us to progress, the law of cause and effect will still influence our actions. Staying in the Void indefinitely could mean that the next time we emerge, we might jump decades or even centuries into the future, which would be very disadvantageous for us."

"Time really is a complex and intricate concept."

Bai Zhongqi had done the basic calculations. The fastest time flow he could adjust would allow the Insect Nest to experience at least ten years in the Virtual Universe System. Then, he would have to return to the Second Universe. Otherwise, the temporal continuity he had painstakingly established might be disrupted.

Ling'er didn't need to enter the Virtual Universe herself. She simply followed Bai Zhongqi's instructions, sending all of her Insect Nests to a glass bead planet in the Virtual Universe. An endless stream of various material elements was sent to the gaping maw of the Insect Nest. While continuously absorbing materials and energy, it also gave birth to a multitude of new Enslaved Beasts.

These new Enslaved Beasts, born under high-level civilization conditions, bore diluted characteristics of insectoid creatures. Ling'er's established Swarm was heavily influenced by Bai Zhongqi's reverse biomimetic ideas. Later on, Bai Zhongqi conducted research and decided that it might not be entirely suitable for the Enslaved Beasts to completely resemble human-made devices or spacecraft. Hence, by integrating bio-technology and reverse biomimetics, he redesigned a batch of semi-insectoid, semi-mechanical entities.

Bai Zhongqi could leave the Insect Nest in the Virtual Universe indefinitely. The stars within the Virtual Universe could endlessly provide energy, and the Mining Machines could turn the planets directly into the raw materials needed for the Insect Nest to spawn Enslaved Beasts. Even if Bai Zhongqi and Ling'er returned to the Second Universe, the Virtual Universe could continue operating ceaselessly.

The Swarm was already a civilization considered to be cheating. Now, equipped with Bai Zhongqi's "Time Modifier," it could rise from a third-level disaster to the most threatening existential threat.
