Chapter 563: 550 Twelve Divine Weapons
Linyin felt that both You Mi'er and Bluefin didn't seem like bad people, and with the good reputation of the Champion Mercenary Corps, she gradually let her guard down.
Having left the Star Alliance eighteen years ago, she was taken away by that flat-chested, green-haired lolita, who she found utterly annoying, and had since been doing some backstage work for the galaxy's songstresses, including designing dreamlike stages and even working as a music producer. Although Linyin enjoyed her days with the galaxy's songstresses, she always found it rather boring.
Her true passion lay in scientific research. As the galaxy's songstresses became more popular across the Galaxy, and earned a great deal of money, the green-haired individual had set up a research institute for her. While it couldn't compare in scale to what she had back on Earth, it at least allowed Linyin to do some of the things she enjoyed.
The green-haired agent, despite being unreliable—spending her days either as an online gaming addict or grilling something as big as a whale-dinosaur that she'd somehow hunted down—was still very resourceful.
Three years ago, the green-haired one brought a familiar face to Linyin, Taschwe, the ace pilot formerly of the Star Alliance Universe Army.
Taschwe told Linyin that many survivors of the Star Alliance Universe Army were secretly arming themselves—the Rebel Army. Although they had not instigated any coups or notable actions, the Rebel Army continued to strengthen itself in a quietly unnoticeable manner.
At that time, Linyin asked Taschwe, "Does no one really know what happened to the Chancellor, I mean the real Chancellor, whether he'll come back or not? By engaging in such rebellious activities, risking so much, are you truly that loyal to Bai Zhongqi?"
Taschwe shook his head and replied, "Believe me, Miss Linyin, probably no one in the Rebel Army is loyal to him. If possible, some even wish the Star Alliance had no Chancellor at all, whether their surname is Bai or Xiao. What they're doing is for themselves. They want their homelands to become what they wish for—a place of freedom and hope, not a tyrant's arena."
Linyin always curled her lips at this; she looked down on these Earth people (and not just Earth people). Although she never said it out loud, deep down in her heart, she agreed with Bai Zhongqi. As an Iridium Star person, she'd been brought up with this teaching—that the Chancellor was everything. Her interactions with Bai Zhongqi had brought the lofty concept of the Chancellor down to her level. She thought the Chancellor was not a bad guy and could even be considered a friend.
Linyin wanted to get back at Xiao Yu, the bastard who had wronged her friend. The green-haired agent told her that Bai Zhongqi would return, so, as a trustworthy buddy, Linyin wanted to help Bai Zhongqi return the favor.
Though they had different reasons, their opposition to Xiao Yu was the same, so Linyin agreed to collaborate with the Rebel Army Taschwe belonged to and began researching weapons and other things for them.
Until recently, Taschwe, covered in dust, sought her out to share a piece of information.
Linyin instinctively moved her legs, guarding her box.
It was a legend circulating within a small circle, Taschwe told Linyin. The rumor claimed that the Elder Race, upon their departure from the Universe, had created Twelve Divine Weapons to preserve the peace of the Galaxy. These were weapons of such devastating power that even the terms 'annihilating worlds and shattering heavens' seemed an understatement; they were essentially twelve supreme mechas. Any single mecha, once controlled, could destroy an entire fleet. Each Divine Mech could be regarded as a guardian of a civilization, or a harbinger of its doom.
Initially, the Rebel Army didn't take this information seriously until they heard that the Star Warrior Sect had acquired such a mecha, possessing invincible strength. Then their interest was piqued.
Perhaps these people could never build a civilization to rival the Star Alliance. The might of the Supreme Command filled them with dread, but if it were weapons fashioned by the Elder Race of the Remote Ancient Universe, they might be able to suppress the fleets controlled by the Supreme Command. If they could secure several mechas, maybe the great cause of the Rebel Army might be within reach.
The Rebel Army tasked Linyin with gathering intelligence on a Divine Weapon named "Divine Scourge." After receiving their materials, Linyin found the location of the Divine Scourge herself, hastily set out alone, and arrived at the far-flung Wilds of the Galaxy, Achilles Star.
Her spaceship was damaged due to a malfunction, and in the end, she was stranded on this ice planet. Fortunately, the communication system was still functional, and she sent out a distress signal, which brought people from the Champion Mercenary Corps from a nearby planet to rescue her.
In her box, there now lay a small ice figure, which looked just like an ice sculpture toy. But Linyin believed that it was a Divine Mech, though she could not transform it into a true Divine Mech. So she planned to take it back to her own research institute for thorough study.
If the Divine Mech truly reverted to its mecha form, Linyin had no intention of handing it over to Taschwe and the others. In her view, the Rebel Army was nothing but a group of shamelessly selfish individuals with no loyalty. She intended to keep the Divine Mech safe, waiting for the return of the true Chancellor, Bai Zhongqi.
The rescue spaceship had already arrived at Sumer Star, descending slowly, and Linyin saw the landscape of this planet. It was a rather barren world, with little greenery and little blue, giving it a dull, dusty feel, and quite uninteresting. Yet, even such a world was the most suitable for life in the Wilds of the Galaxy; the other places, like Achilles Star, were mostly death zones for life.
Linyin thought silently, "It seems I will have to deal with these people for a while, the Divine Mech absolutely cannot fall into other's hands."
The hatch opened, and You Mi'er was the first to walk off the ship. Heading towards him was a handsome young man with black curly hair, always wearing a mischievously smiling face.
"Hey, You Mi'er, I heard you brought back a super beautiful girl, hurry up and let me see her; maybe I'll fall in love on the spot."
You Mi'er, however, smiled wryly and kept pushing the handsome young man away with his hand, saying, "Wali, she's someone who has just survived a catastrophe, consider her feelings a bit, will you?"
Wali sized up You Mi'er carefully and said, "I didn't see it before, but you're quite a tender guy. I thought you were only interested in our commander; what, are you planning to change targets now?"
"That's not true, never will be." You Mi'er's gaze was firm.
Just then, You Mi'er saw a woman with long legs and short hair walking behind him; where she passed, everyone stopped their work to salute and greet her.
You Mi'er's heart warmed.
"Commander!" He saluted the woman approaches.
The high and mighty beauty, who seldom smiled, returned his salute and asked, "Where's the person you brought back?"
At this moment, Linyin, dragging a chest from inside the cabin that she could barely carry, moved out, and when she looked up, she suddenly felt the person in front of her looked familiar.
"Xu Lanzhou?!"
"Linyin?!"
What do you think?
