Chapter 18: Class Advancement Quest

They stepped out of the car and entered the main gates.

Beautiful shrubs and flowers were lined across the path. The group followed the path towards the administrative office.

"Catherine will take you guys from here, and after you receive your Class Advancement Quest, come find me."

Eleanor took her leave.

The remaining three entered the administrative building. They climbed to the empty second floor.

"This is where the students come to take there Class Advancement Quests. This facility is only available to those affiliated with Master of Sanctum."

Catherine took them to the counter.

A beautiful woman with light green hair and pointed ears stood behind it.

"Greetings, Miss Catherine. It has been a long time since we met. I suppose you are acting as the guide for these special class students?"

"You are right. The Vice Principal told me to get them Class Advancement Quests from you."

The receptionist raised her brow and looked at Isaac and Emily in surprise.

"They are Lv. 10 Initiates already? That's quite fast even for special class students."

"Special class students? What are they?" Emily asked.

"Special Class students are classes made for demihumans and humans with S-rank or higher Talent."

Ruby noticed Emily's confusion and clarified,

"Some monster species can gain sentience. They can awaken Talent along with their bloodline abilities. We call these sentient monsters demihumans.

"The child of a demihuman and a human is also called a demihuman."

Isaac nodded from the side.

Emily had awakened a Talent, and she had a few skills which probably came from her Netherborne Phantom Empress Bloodline.

She was a demihuman.

While Isaac wanted to ask more about demihumans, there was another pressing matter at hand.

"What type of Class Advancement Quest will I receive?"

"Show me your hand. I will give you the Class best suited for you."

"...?"

"Do as Ruby says. She is the AI Assistant of our City and the one who controls the City. It's thanks to her that the Master of Sanctum can provide a perfect Class for every Talent," Catherine said.

Isaac nodded and showed his palm.

Ruby held his hand.

She closed her eyes. Her eyes moved furiously behind her closed eyelids.

"That is an interesting Class. It's my first time seeing something like this."

Ruby opened her eyes and looked at Isaac with newfound interest.

"You can see my status?"

"No, I can only see your Class. It is one of my inbuilt functions that was added to help me choose the perfect Class for the visitors.

"Give me a minute; I will bring you the Class Advancement Quest."

She retreated to the back and opened one of the small cabinets standing next to the wall.

The insides of the cabinet was pitch black. The darkness seemed to be sucking the light out of its surroundings.

She put her hand inside it and, after a lot of shuffling, took out a large stack of documents.

The documents were too big to be stored inside the cabinet.

Ruby ignored the dissonance as she brought the documents back to the counter.

Isaac read the title on the front page.

Isaac noticed Emily and Catherine did not react upon seeing the rank and name of his Class.

Seeing his confusion, Ruby clarified,

"They can't see the title and content of these documents. It's a privacy protection skill."

Isaac was impressed by the technology.

Ruby opened the document and looked through the index.

Genetic Harvester, Ruinblood Conqueror, Worldroot Sage...

Ruby flipped through the page before Isaac could read more.

She tore the first page and gave it to Isaac.

"The other Classes are for when you reach higher ranks. This is the one you need to get for your Adept rank."

Isaac took the paper.

Following Ruby's instruction, he tore it. The page broke into clusters of light and entered his chest.

Requirements:

Enhance one of your Talent skills to perfection. Find or create a Tier 2 Seed and harvest it. Absorb a Genetic Catalyst. Survive the Evolutionary Trial.

'An SSS+ rank Class...'

'It was a good choice I came to Master of Sanctum.'

'Other universities would have given be an S-rank Class at best, and it would not have suited my Talent.'

'Just by looking at this Quest, I can tell it's for my Talent.'

Isaac wondered what Fortified Cities were. Ruby was the City's AI assisstant, which must've been the reason she could get a Class Adavnacement Quest for an SSS+ rank Class.

"I'm as surprised as you. I didn't think you would've recived a Class of that rank."

"You didn't know?"

"The cabinet I took out the Class Quest from is an Lost Civilization Relic. It gives the Class Quest according to its recipients' Talent. I have no control over it."

She turned to Emily.

"I will give the Class to you now. Show me your hand."

Emily received a Class in a similar fashion. Isaac noticed he couldn't read anything on the documents that were brought out for her.

Afterwards, Catherine took them to Eleanor's office.

"My job here is done. See you guys later."

She left quite quickly. Isaac believed he would see her soon, or else she would've been a bit emotional due to her separation with Emily, given the two were close.

Isaac knocked on the office door and entered after he got permission.

A faint lavender scent wafted in the air. There was an office desk in the center and a sofa in the close left corner. The window was open, allowing the cool night air to enter the office. A few potted plants were placed on the windowsill beneath the window.

Eleanor sat behind the office desk. She welcomed the two of them.

"Come sit."

"Thanks."

"Do you know why I called you two here?" she asked after they took their seats.

Isaac shook his head.

"It's quite simple. I wanted to tell you that this is a university. It is a place where we help you master your skills, level up, and reach your full potential."

"I don't understand what you are trying to say."

"I want you to be completely honest. What are your current stats and skills? We can create a nurturing program suited for you only when we know these details.

"I know you have high stats. Catherine told me about your Constitution, and even if she didn't, it was quite clear.

"There is no way the lady disposed of the assassins by herself. She has no training. You must have helped her, and for that, you need high stats.

"So, what are your stats and skills?"
