Gender Swap: The Introvert’s Broadcast

Chapter 44

It was familiar for Yeram to come at this time, so I quickly brewed a cup of coffee and handed it over.

Of course, I took the money.

It’s a rule to accept money from customers.

Even family isn’t exempt from that rule.

“Why not just give it for free?”
“If I give it for free, you’ll get spoiled.”
“Ugh, what...”@@novelbin@@

I was serious about that.

In a way, I was probably giving Yeram some social education right now.

“Hello?”

At that moment, Shin Yewha, who had been quietly observing from the side, spoke up.

Shin Yewha had never spoken to me before, but today, it seemed like she wanted to say something.

“Huh? Oh, you’re the older sister I work with. I’ve seen you around a lot.”

Thus, Shin Yewha and Yeram exchanged brief words, and then naturally, the conversation came to a halt.

It seemed like they didn’t have much to talk about.

I thought they’d have plenty to discuss since Yewha had bravely greeted her.

“Then, since I have work to do, drink your coffee and go home to rest.”
“Yeah.”

Yeram casually nodded, took her coffee, and headed to the empty table.

She’d probably chat with her friends for a while and then go home when time passed.

With that thought, I returned to my spot and fiddled with my phone.

‘Not many customers today.’

For some reason, there weren’t many customers today.

It wasn’t that having many customers would necessarily benefit me, but if too few came, even I, as a part-timer, would feel a bit uneasy.

It seemed like the owner hadn’t visited the store for a while.

“Yawn.”

I yawned and logged into Red.

There was no better way to pass the time.

[Ifrit Gallery]

Once again, I logged into the Ifrit Gallery and started scanning the posts.

It was okay to check old posts one by one, but it was more efficient to check the concept posts.

There was a gallery member who regularly compiled and organized the current gossip, so it was easier to just check their posts.

[Title: Today’s gossip log]
[Content: From 1 AM to 3 AM, Transformer gossip.

From 3 AM to 7 AM, side dish gossip.
From 7 AM to 9 AM, novel gossip.
From 9 AM to 12 PM, soccer gossip.
From 12 PM to now, confession gossip.
End]

Hmm.

It seemed like the usual gossip was going around again today.

It wasn’t surprising.

There were only so many things to gossip about anyway.

It wasn’t that strange.

With that thought, I decided to write a post.

[Author: Uncover the secret of London]
[Title: Back in middle school, I used to watch Nextpot...]
[Content: Back then, it was when Rimaldo was streaming, and I used to skip school to watch him play.]

I had mentioned before that although I didn’t watch much internet broadcasting, Rimaldo’s stream was the only one I regularly watched.

It just suited my tastes.

That’s why I didn’t bother joining Rimaldo’s stream directly.

I didn’t want to cause trouble in his chat unnecessarily.

‘By the way, I haven’t played Doll Game in a while.’

I wasn’t particularly fond of card games, but I had played Doll Game for a long time, so it randomly came to mind.

While I was having these scattered thoughts, a notification came in.

Ding-

It was an alert for several comments.

I immediately checked them.

L: Nextpot is legit haha
N: Seriously, wasn’t skipping school to watch Nextpot the norm when we were kids?
N: What kind of life have these guys been living?
N: These guys are the real deal lol.
N: Is it normal to skip school to watch internet broadcasts?
Fact: Rimaldo only streams about seven times a month, so skipping school wasn’t all that frequent.
Seven times a month? That’s practically nothing lol.
L: Stop mentioning Doll Game... It still stings to have been eliminated from the qualifiers in that tournament.

‘Back in the day, Nextpot was really fun.’

It’s no longer around, but there are still streamers on Twis who bring up that nostalgic vibe.

Though I only watched Rimaldo’s stream, so I didn’t know much about others.

Thinking about that, I closed my phone and went back to work.

Later that day

“Wow, my rank has gone up a lot.”

When I came back home and started the broadcast, I checked my rank, and it had gone up significantly. It was surprising enough that I thought, when did I climb this high?

I was Platinum 2.

According to the viewers, even though I just started playing Reore, getting to this tier was a sign of talent.

‘Honestly, I think so too.’

I did think so.

But I wouldn’t say it out loud.

Saying such things would only bring trouble.

[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Hm, yeah, yeah]
[You really have climbed a lot.]
[Hwanhee: You’ll probably run into a lot of other broadcasters soon lol]
[But why has your viewership increased so much?]
[It’s probably all thanks to Haehoo...]
[Haehoo has been editing like crazy lately lol]
[Kang Hoo-min here: After seeing Dama’s comment yesterday, they’ve been working so hard.]
[I don’t understand why they’re working so hard without even paying. lol.]

Anyway, there was a reason the viewers were talking about my current viewership count.

[Viewer count: 201]

The viewership had really spiked.

There were so many possible places where this increase could have come from that it was hard to pinpoint.

‘There’s Salok, Mangming, Harin, Kang Hoo-min, YouTube...’

There were too many places related to me for me to guess why the viewership increased.

I just assumed it was from some random event.

“Ah, and I know you won’t listen, but... I’ll say it again. Don’t cause trouble in other streams. And if you do, don’t say anything weird. I don’t want to see you getting sued.”

It wasn’t really my problem if the viewers got sued, but still, I couldn’t help but feel concerned.

That reminded me of a friend from high school.

Back then, there was a quiet kid who always walked around with his head down. I only greeted him casually when we met, and we never really talked.

‘We weren’t really close.’

We weren’t close enough to consider us friends.

I hadn’t heard from him since high school, but I happened to learn what happened to him.

When he entered college, during the freshman orientation, in front of the entire department, he got flustered and ran away.

It wasn’t a huge deal, but the way my friend described it was so vivid that I still remembered it.

I guess I felt embarrassed for him.

‘Ugh.’

Anyway, I didn’t like seeing people associated with me suffer embarrassment.

That’s why I gave advice like I did today.

[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Are you worried we’re gonna get sued?]

[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Are you trying to be sweet?]
[Why are you so sweet?]
[First time I’ve seen a sweet guy like you.]
[N: Temporarily banned!]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: No need to sow discord!]
[Hwanhee: Yeah, sowing discord is bad...]
[But it’s kind of true.]
[Kang Hoo-min here: I have a foolproof tip to avoid getting sued, don’t worry.]

I honestly kind of hoped he’d get sued.

With those random thoughts in mind, I continued discussing what happened today.

“- So, I was four hours late today? I thought I was in real trouble.”

[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Four hours? lol]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Unbelievable.]
[Is this what part-timers do?]
[Hwanhee: Was your start time 9 AM?]

“Huh? How did you know my start time?”

I only mentioned I was four hours late, so how did they know?

[Hwanhee: Just guessed.]
[Hwanhee: You always start at 9 AM.]
[Hwanhee: Part-timers usually do.]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: I see.]
[If you’ve never worked part-time, you wouldn’t know. Upvote for you, lol.]
[Upvote, lol.]
[Yeah, it makes sense.]

I guess 9 AM was the standard start time.

With that thought, I started another game of Reore.

“Alright, let’s do one more round.”

I always enjoyed playing top lane with unconventional champions, and lately, it had been even more fun.

Trying to beat broken champions with unexpected picks was just enjoyable.

‘Maybe I’ll beat an Aatrox this time.’

I’d never seen a champion with such ridiculous healing in Reore.

With that thought in mind, I queued up for another game.

Ding!

The game started right away.

This time, I was assigned top lane.

As usual, I picked a random champion, and as the game began—

[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Why is Harin on the enemy team? lol]
[Why is Harin here?]
[Hi, Harin.]
[I see you here lol.]
[You weren’t streaming today, but you’re streaming now.]
[Hwanhee: Haha~ (Meaning “Harin hi”)]

Harin had been assigned to the enemy team.
