Chapter 48
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Alright, here comes the explanation]
[Can't resist an explanation lol]
[Cthulhu’s explanation, oh wow]
[This is it, this is it]
[How is he going to explain this? I’m so excited, lol]
[How much explanation can Dama’s manager provide? I’ve got the recording ready]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Please control yourself]
[Lol]
[The manager is too intense ㅠㅠㅠ]
After a brief ruckus, the manager explained what had happened.
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: We met in a ranked game, Harin posted it on YouTube]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: And the views exploded]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: That’s basically it, lol]
[What? That’s it?]
[Are you ignoring the fact that the video was posted on Harin’s channel with 340k subscribers?]
[Ignoring the fact that it’s on Harin’s channel is kind of messed up]
“That wasn’t anything special.”
I thought it was something big, but turns out it wasn’t a big deal at all.
The only thing that happened was that I ended up on Harin’s YouTube.
I shook my head, feeling a bit dumb.
“Why make such a fuss over something like that? Nothing changes just because I’m on Harin’s YouTube channel.”
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: No, it changes a lot]
[First of all, your viewership skyrockets, what are you talking about]
[This is why being a beginner broadcaster is hard]
[You’re blowing up now, lol]
[Hwanhee: But if you’re watching Harin’s stream, don’t you already know about Dama?]
[Harin hasn’t posted anything about Dama on her YouTube]
[Kang Hoo-min: They probably didn’t post it because they thought it was just viral at first]
When I think about when I first introduced myself to Harin, it makes sense.
After all, I was a complete unknown to her.
“Hmm… but if the viewers really increase, that’s kind of a problem.”
I can’t really stop the increase in viewers, but I didn’t want too many either.
Having too many viewers might actually be bad.
To be precise, I felt like I wouldn’t be able to interact with all of them properly.
With those random thoughts in my head, I spoke up.
“How much can viewers really increase anyway? Let’s just play the game.”
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: You’re not watching Harin’s YouTube?]
[Let’s watch Harin’s YouTube! Let’s watch Harin’s YouTube! Let’s watch Harin’s YouTube!]
[Not watching this is seriously dropping your vibe, lol]
[You’re losing your touch after less than a month of streaming, lmao]
[A 2-week streamer, haha]
[Hwanhee: There was never any vibe to begin with]
[Kang Hoo-min: Just watch the YouTube already]
As much as I wanted to jump straight into a game, the viewers were too persistent.
I would’ve ignored them before, but now that I’ve built some rapport with my viewers, I couldn’t just ignore them.
I had to respond, somewhat.
“Why watch that? I’m sure there are a lot of nasty comments about me in the replies.”
When you’re a regular viewer of a YouTube channel and suddenly a different gendered streamer appears,
you’re bound to receive some bad attention.
That’s why I didn’t want to watch the video.
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Why would anyone hate on you?]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: There were only positive comments]
[Just went there and came back, left a ton of hate comments]
Temporary ban applied!
[Why is Harin’s manager not clearing up Dama hate? You’re done for, lol. Just wait till I email you]
[Starting the usual drama again]
[Always causing trouble, haha]
[Kang Hoo-min: I’ll cause trouble in the chat too if I want]
[Why are they fighting in the chat?]
But when I looked at the chat, I realized I couldn’t just ignore it.
So, reluctantly, I stopped my game and went to YouTube.
“Sigh... fine, I’ll watch it just once.”
I didn’t want to cause trouble for Harin,
but it wasn’t a live broadcast, so YouTube seemed fine.
My streams might have some troublemakers, but they weren’t as bad as Mangming-level trolls.
[Harin]
When I typed Harin into the search bar, her channel popped up immediately.
She had 340,000 subscribers.
That’s a lot.
Meanwhile, I only have about 2 subscribers on my YouTube account.
‘How did I even get subscribed by someone like this?’
I rarely comment on videos, but it was strange. I clicked on the most recent video.
It had a clickbait thumbnail, so it was obvious that I was in the video.
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: That clickbait lol]
[Yeah, Harin needs to make money]
[Clickbait is important]
[When someone shows up, you gotta promote it openly lol]
[Hwanhee: But this feels like some national pride YouTube channel lol]
[Is this for real?]
[This is just ridiculous, lol]
[Kang Hoo-min: Yeah, this is totally Harin’s vibe]
“Couldn’t they at least make a cool thumbnail? ‘The mysterious guy from solo queue, top laner’ sounds better.”
It would’ve been cooler if they’d called me a hidden skilled player, but I guess that’s not how it worked.
Thinking that, I watched the video all the way through, about 17 minutes long.
“My stream reactions are getting copied.”
[But did you get permission for this? Aren’t you supposed to get permission?]
[You should’ve asked for permission for reactions from the stream]
[Did you get permission for this?]
[Hwanhee: I don’t think they asked for permission]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: They probably asked Dama for permission]
[Oh, I see]
“Wait, why did you give permission? I never gave permission.”
What’s this?
I never gave permission for this.
Why are they saying they did?
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Ah]
[What the hell, if you’re going to do it, go stream yourself]
[Oh, damn, what the hell]
[Manager level, lol]
[What’s wrong with him?]
[He was doing fine as a manager, what’s up with him now?]
I was a bit taken aback.
I never gave up the authority to make decisions, and now they’re saying they acted on their own.@@novelbin@@
‘Well, even if I had been asked, I probably would’ve said yes.’
But that’s not the point.
I needed to scold them.
“No, you can’t just do whatever you want. Even though my stream doesn’t have many viewers and there are a lot of crazy troublemakers, you still need to ask for permission. And come to think of it, why didn’t you ask me first?”
That’s when it seemed strange.
Normally, don’t they ask the streamer directly first?
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Oh, that]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: I sent you a whisper, but you didn’t check it]
[It was sent to you]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: And Harin’s editor came to ask for permission]
[Did you give them permission?]
[Ah, damn]
“Eh, why are you giving permission? I never gave permission.”
What’s going on?
I never said yes to this.
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Ah]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Was I not supposed to give permission?]
[What the hell, if you’re going to do it, go stream yourself]
[Oh, damn, what the hell]
[Manager level, lol]
[What’s wrong with him?]

Why are they saying they gave permission without asking me?
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Ah]

[Did you give them permission?]
[Ah, damn]
“Well, then, if you need to ask about something like that, just report it to me first. Don’t make decisions on your own.”
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Well, after the stream ends, how am I supposed to contact you?]
[That’s true, lol]
[You can’t contact me separately, but still, I asked you to report it]
[Hwanhee: This is a bit...]
[Just contact me through the gallery]
Well, that’s true.
Other people might not be able to, but the manager should have some way of contacting me directly.
It wasn’t like when I had 20 viewers—now, with ten times the number of viewers, a more structured system was necessary.
“Okay, I’ll give you my contact info later, and we’ll sort this out.”
I felt like I could just give them my contact info.
Considering how long I’ve known Cthulhu, I didn’t think he’d leak my number to anyone.
We’ve been on good terms for about five years.
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Ah, okay]
[What are you planning to do by giving the manager your contact info, damn]
[Do you have soup in this room too?]
[Lol, it’s funny that there’s soup in this room too]
[From Dama’s perspective, Cthulhu isn’t even seen as a woman, lol]
[Hwanhee: Cthulhu has done so many dumb things, I wouldn’t treat them as a person lol]
[Kang Hoo-min: Probably treated like livestock 1?]
“No, what do you mean by treating someone like trash?”
Of course, in the past, I hadn’t treated them as a person, but these days, I was at least acknowledging them.
I continued with the broadcast, letting those thoughts sit in the back of my mind.
How much longer had I been streaming, I wondered.
“Well, see you tomorrow.”
[The broadcast has ended!]
I ended the broadcast and logged into the Ifrit gallery.
Then I searched for “Omniscient Cthulhu.”
‘I just need to give them my contact info.’
I figured I didn’t need to share my phone number.
Thinking that, I logged into the ‘Gallery Log’ that only Cthulhu could see and left my contact info there privately.
After a while, I received a message.
[Jeong Ye-wool: Hi?]
Someone contacted me.
What do you think?
