Chapter 556 "It Hurts Me Too..."
"AH! I wish I had gone to the capital! To think I missed such a great opportunity." Ma Li deflated in her seat as she heard Xin Yan share Noah's adventure.
Naturally, she did not tell anyone about what Noah did with Long Xiang or how she was secretly impersonating a Royal army official to watch Noah torture that man up close.
It was not just Ma Li, Noah could see a little disappointment in the eyes of all the disciples.
"Sorry, little one, but there is no way your sect master would have allowed you to join because of the dangers lurking in the empire." Xin Yan smiled at them with a warm expression, causing their dissatisfaction to fade away.
When they heard the woman speak of the hidden dangers, their expressions turned solemn. By now, they were all aware of the Red Dawn Cult and the danger it posed to the world.
"Where is Master? Is he still looking for the traces of the cult?" Yuan Ming decided to ask Noah after a moment of hesitation.
"He did find some traces of the cult, so he decided to take care of them before returning. He should come back in a few months or a year." Noah decided to hide Wuhan's identity and told a white lie to them.
After a few more questions about their trip, the girls decided to ask Xin Yan to help them with their cultivation. Seeing no reason to decline, the blue-haired beauty chose to guide them along with the two boys.@@novelbin@@
The mood remained light and joyful. Noah could feel the genuine warmth that radiated from everyone, especially from Xin Yan, whose newfound peace was almost palpable.
He couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment as he observed her interacting with the others, her previously cold and distant demeanor now replaced by a soft, nurturing presence.
After giving a last glance at the people in the room, Noah moved to walk out of the room.
Xin Yan saw him leave from the corner of her eye but did not say anything and simply smiled slightly.
Walking out of the room, his eyes landed on the familiar figure of the woman.
"Are you not going inside?" Noah paused in his tracks and asked softly. Standing in the corner of the hallway was Shisan, leaning her body against the wall. Her eyes, which were fixed on a distant scene outside the window, shifted in his direction.
She did not immediately reply to his words but instead asked a question of her own. "Is there something you are hiding about the young miss from me?"
As she spoke, a gust of wind flew across the hallway, causing her long hair to flutter across her face. Even though she spoke in an indifferent tone, Noah could sense deep sadness and pain hidden in her voice.
"Why do you ask?" The same pain in her voice forced Noah to pause in his tracks and pay attention to the woman. He sighed upon seeing the look in her eyes. As if by instinct, she was hiding her emotions well, but Noah could sense her feelings from her soul.
"I just have a feeling…" Shisan replied in the same tone, but Noah saw her eyes shifting away from him. "I have been with the young lady since the day she turned three years old. Never in her whole life have I seen her like this…
It pains me!"
Noah's eyes remained calm as she opened up to him. After a moment of silence, he sighed before shaking his head.
Shisan looked puzzled when she saw Noah turning away from her and walking, but upon hearing his words, her gaze changed. "Come with me."
She hurriedly followed behind the boy as they moved down the hallway. She wanted to ask where they were going, but when she saw him turn in a familiar direction, her words got stuck in her mouth.
She immediately knew where they were going.
It was the dungeon where Song Liu was locked inside!
Rumble!!
With a few taps of Noah's fingers, the passage revealed itself to both of them. Noah gave Shisan one last look before entering the dungeon. With her mind filled with confusion and curiosity about what he wanted to show her, she silently followed behind him.
The dark and gloomy atmosphere of the dungeon did not have any effect on the two seasoned warriors. They could see through the darkness as if it were broad daylight.
Ignoring everything around her, Shisan kept her gaze on Noah until she stepped into the cell block where Song Liu was being held.
Upon noticing their arrival, the chained beauty, who had been sitting with her eyes closed, opened them to meet their eyes.
Seeing Noah and Shisan, her eyes shook before an intense cold light flashed through them. Ignoring her coldness as if it wasn't even there, Noah unchained Song Liu with a swift motion of his hand.
"Starting today, you will be cultivating under my supervision," Noah declared while looking deeply into her eyes. His voice remained calm and undisturbed by the sharpness in the young woman's eyes.
Ignoring the look of confusion and worry on Song Liu's face, Noah looked at Shisan. "Now let's talk about the thing I have been keeping away from you."
Shisan's eyes shook. Her hands clenched in frustration, knowing they had been keeping something about Song Liu away from her. But her expression remained indifferent, though that did not last long as Noah continued with his words.
Song Liu, who had been hearing their interaction from the corner, was first surprised, but knowing she had no power in front of the two of them, she calmly sat down to cultivate. Explore more adventures at My Virtual Library Empire

Whatever happened inside the dungeon was only known to the people inside the dungeon and two other women. By the time Noah walked out of the dungeon, the moon had risen into the sky, marking the night.
Silently, he made his way outside the mansion towards the backyard. Only after he was in an open area did he stop.
Just then, Noah sensed someone walking toward him, but he did not react or look in that direction and kept looking at the moon. The person came closer and silently took his hands in their own.
Noah lowered his head, feeling the surrounding environment shift slightly. The gentle breeze turned into a sharp wind. The clear sky started to get cloudy.
"Did you have to tell her that?" A voice, hollow enough to echo in the turbulent area, sounded in his ears.
Noah slowly nodded before looking at the green-haired fairy in her eyes. The hands she was holding had traces of injuries that were slowly healing.
Seeing the sword wound on his hands, Elysia trembled as if someone had stabbed her own hand. She could feel dark thoughts clouding her heart and mind as she thought of the woman who inflicted the injury on the man she loved.
Elysia's grip on Noah's hand tightened, her eyes clouded with concern and fury. The sharp wind around them seemed to respond to her emotions, growing colder as she struggled to contain the storm of thoughts swirling in her mind.
Noah ignored the changing surroundings and smiled softly. His warm smile worked its charm as it removed the darkness swirling in her eyes. "I don't want to be an unreasonable person who became the source of her pain. If she hadn't thought something was up, I wouldn't have told her anything."
Noah took hold of Elysia's hand and placed it on his cheek to feel the warmth of her body. Seeing his action, the woman also felt her anger slowly dissipate.
"You!" Elysia closed her eyes, taking a deep breath, allowing the warmth of his skin beneath her hand to calm her. The sharp wind that had been swirling around them gradually softened, as if mirroring the change in her heart. Elysia did not know what to say when she saw Noah in such a state.
Complex emotions swirled in her eyes as she erased the distance between the two of them. She placed her other hand on Noah's vacant cheek before looking deeply into his eyes.
Noah could feel his heartbeat speeding up when Elysia's warm breath hit his face, her flushed cheeks as she looked at him with a gaze full of love and affection, as if she was drunk on his love.
"Your pain hurts me more than it hurts you," Elysia murmured, her voice softer now. Elysia closed the distance between their faces as well, her lips capturing Noah's in a passionate kiss.
The warmth of her embrace enveloped him, and for a moment, the world outside seemed to disappear. Her touch, tender yet desperate, spoke of her love, concern, and the deep connection they shared.
As if affected by Elysia's emotion, the air around the two of them glowed with a mythical light. The atmosphere turned warm and cozy, highlighting their mood even more. The garden, which had faced the onslaught of the raging winds, became the beacon of spring for the lovebirds.
What do you think?
