Chapter 600: The War Is Merciless
"Noah… he..." Ma Li collapsed on her knees as she saw the lifeless body of Noah in Xin Yan's arms. Tears streamed down her eyes as memories of their time together flashed through her mind.
Not just her, but the rest of the girls, including Ruo'er, were also shedding tears. The boys also showed pained looks on their faces.
"Oh yeah, we have to heal Shisan, or she might die for real." Just then, a voice interrupted their grieving.
"Elder Shisa–" Ma Li, who jerked her neck to look at Shisan, froze when she saw the familiar figure looming over the unconscious woman.
"Hmm~ why are you all staring at me like that?" Feeling their glares, Noah turned to look at them with a confused look on his face. "Wait! Did you really think that that guy could kill me?"
"Oof!" Noah moaned as he felt a figure crushing him. He looked down and saw Ruo'er silently sobbing in his arms. "Why…"
Her voice became muffled between her sobs, making it difficult for anyone to understand, but Noah could understand her. Instead of answering immediately, he looked at Xin Yan, who looked away from him as if telling him to deal with his own mess.
Even Ming Ye chose to ignore the man's existence at the moment and focused on stabilizing Shisan's breath.
"What the hell?" Tian Heng asked the question everyone was thinking, a look of disbelief in his eyes. They were all looking at the place where they had last seen Xin Yan and Noah, and saw a very dead Noah in a very devastated Xin Yan's arms.
But their figures no longer looked real and started to fade away as if they were nothing but an illusion, which was also the truth!
Noah sighed and patted the head of the little girl in his arms, running his fingers through her hair as if soothing her pain. During her time in this sect, it was not only Xin Yan she got closer to; she even came to treat Noah as her own family, as the warmth she received from both of them was something she never got from her own family.
"This is no place and time to talk about this," Noah said with a bit of seriousness and raised his other hand toward a certain direction.
A streak of light flashed in his hands, and Shisan's severed arm appeared in his palms. Suppressing the pain and questions in her heart, Ruo'er composed herself. She cleaned her tears with qi and turned to move back.
"Do you know any healing techniques? But rejoining the limbs of someone at her level would not be an easy feat," Ming Ye looked at Noah's hands with suspicion. Simply based on low-level pills, one cannot join severed limbs.
"Let's go inside first." Noah did not explain anything but once more activated the barrier around the sect. As the illusionary shield of energy fell from the sky, covering the sect in the shape of a dome, the dead bodies from the war moved inside the sect.
As if thinking of something, Xin Yan's figure flashed, and she started collecting the bodies of the dead beasts in her storage ring. The others wanted to help but did not have storage rings that could fit those colossal beasts inside of them.
So they did the only thing they could do—they followed Noah inside the mansion with Shisan floating beside them.
"Squee!" Hei Guina jumped from Yuan Ming's arms onto Noah's shoulder, leaving the boy with a look of cold betrayal. Seeing his reaction, Tian Heng patted him with a supportive look on his face.
…
"Young Master Noah, are you okay? I got scared just from hearing the commotion," Wu Ping rushed towards them while holding her son in her arms. They had been hiding in the sect the entire time. Only after they saw Noah coming back with the rest of them did the two of them dare to come out.
"Where is Lady Xin Yan?" She looked around and asked with a worried tone upon not seeing Xin Yan.
"Don't worry, we won, and she is outside and will come back soon, but we have an emergency. Can you please prepare a clean room for everyone here?" Noah softly reminded her that there was an injured person beside him.
Seeing everyone in a haggard state, Wu Ping froze before hurriedly nodding with a solemn look on her face.
Noah followed behind the woman and entered a clean room where he placed Shisan on the bed while the others sat anywhere they found space.
Some were on the sofa, while some even sat on the ground. On the other hand, Noah stood beside Shisan and placed his hand over the injured side of her body.
His hands glowed with a green light, which shocked Ming Ye. "This is… the rare healing technique!"
Noah did not respond to his words and continued to treat the woman on the bed. Xin Yan suddenly walked into the room with Wu Ping following behind her. Her son was no longer with her.
Wu Ping was carrying a bucket of hot water in her hands. With a subtle nod from her master, she walked towards the kids and cleaned their wounds one by one.
Xin Yan walked towards Noah. Upon seeing Noah miraculously closing the wound on the side of Shisan's chest, she couldn't help but ask softly, "How is she?"
After the wound was fully closed without even leaving a scar, much to Ming Ye's astonishment, Noah turned to look at Xin Yan. "She is out of danger. I used the leftover recovery energy in her body to speed up the healing of her wound."
As he spoke, Noah looked at Xin Yan carefully, searching for any kind of wounds on her. Only after seeing she was unharmed did he sigh in relief. He also did the same with the others and found only signs of exhaustion and surface injuries. There were some deep wounds that could leave a scar, but nothing he couldn't fix.
"What about her arm?" Xin Yan smiled upon seeing his worry for them and even walked closer to him but left enough room for him to work without distraction.
"That is easy. Just watch me." Noah showed a smug smile before getting back into action.
What do you think?
