Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 551 Statham's Plan

551  Statham's Plan

The slain vampires should have turned to ash like they used to be. They could never be healed or regenerated.

However, Statham noticed that their souls had somehow lingered. It stayed around for a while as if they had turned into specters!

To be exact, it seemed as if they had turned into some sort of wraiths!

Statham had no idea how this could happen but he immediately recalled that Shane had a necromancer in his side. However, he didn't expect that a Necromancer could do this. After all, he had already eliminated several Necromancers and the most they could do was summon undead creatures.

He had never seen a Necromancer do this at all!

Unfortunately for him, this wasn't done by a Necromancer at all. Instead, it was Ghostcaller Sol who had done this.

From behind the walls, her pale hands were actually raised as she chanted an incantation to summon the souls of the dead.

It didn't end there, she had twisted their fate and bound the lost souls to her command!

The souls had become Spectral Wraiths that could now be commanded by Sol.

Statham exhaled slowly as he saw the movement of those wraiths.

'He was prepared for this…' He mused after realizing that they already possessed a huge number of silver bullets and various means to attack his kind.

Furthermore, the Barrier that Shane had built around his shelter was also quite troubling.

He had expected to lose this battle as he wanted to see what kind of anti-vampire items they had in their possession. But the appearance of Eclipse Domain's hidden strength was both fascinating and infuriating.

Shane's fortress was not just well-guarded—it was a death trap designed to lure overconfident invaders to their doom.

And now, Statham knew exactly what he was dealing with.

Silently, he turned away from the massacre as he had already seen enough…

"I need to start making my move…" Statham muttered.

He believed that Shane would not leave this area for some time since he seemed to be interested in raiding some other Zombie Lord Territory nearby.

It means that he wouldn't have any issues as long as he shifted his focus against the other shelters that Shane and his team could not reach at the moment.

He planned to expand his forces, find more Survivors he could turn into Vampire Knights before returning to fight Shane.

To be honest, he was confident that he could break through the walls, barriers, automated turrets, elven arrows, and even the magicians that Shane had arranged to defend his territory.

However, even if he managed to enter the Shelter, he wasn't sure whether there would be more traps inside that he might fall into…

With that in consideration, he needed more than just Vampire Knights to assist him. He needs stronger allies!

Just like that, Statham returned to his lair and after a few hours, set out taking all of his vampire army with him to raid weaker shelters all over the continent.

However, a few hours ago, when Statham and his army arrived near the Eclipse Domain, Shane had actually been monitoring them…

He planned to make his move once Statham took the matter into his own hands and attacked his shelter. It seemed that Statham and his army weren't aware that he knew about their presence. Because of that, Shane ordered his men to act as if they didn't notice the vampires yet.

As expected, as soon as they started having their meal, the vampires decided to finally attack, believing that they had caught them off guard.

The wave of vampires advanced toward the fortress—five hundred lesser vampires with ten Vampire Knights leading the charge.

At this time, Shane's face remained calm, almost indifferent. This worse was weaker than the third Zombie Wave he had faced before. It was nothing and it seemed that Statham only wanted to probe their strength.

"I guess I have to show some of my resources so he'll think that this is all I can do." Shane muttered.

"They took the bait," Lysandra murmured beside him as she adjusted her sniper rifle in her hands. "Just like you predicted."

Shane smirked. "Of course. Statham is testing us. He wants to see if this place is worth his real effort."

Behind them, the Eclipse Domain was silent, waiting for the enemies to arrive.

They already knew what to do as Shane had already given them all the instructions they needed to follow.

In any case, the first sign of the Eclipse Domain's might came when the invaders reached the outer perimeter.

The five visible turrets activated as they fired out streams of high-velocity rounds.

The vampires in the front ranks disintegrated on impact. There were barely any Silver Bullets among them but their bodies were shredded into nothingness before they could even reach the walls.

Only those Vampire Knights were able to barely defend against such bombardment. These Vampire Knights were definitely incredible and they could cause some problems if they got inside.

After all, in terms of strength, there weren't a lot of Survivors who could fight against them with brute force.

But that was when the hidden defenses activated.

From within the walls, fifty hidden automated turrets emerged from their concealed stations.

Shane didn't even have to give the command as Cloud knew what it needed to do…

Well, he spent over 20,000 Zombie Cores, 8,000 Reputation Points, 1,000 Spirit Stones, and tons of materials he found in the research facilities and abandoned buildings just to make these Turrets.

They may not be as great as Mk-IV but they were still Mk-II and were quite good.

"Fire."

Together with the two magicians, the night was soon filled with gunfire and magic.

The Vampire Knights, thinking themselves invincible, didn't get that far at all.

They were welcomed by a rain of upgraded bolts that could pierce their armor… They were then hit by Ice Spears, burned by the Fireballs, and shot by the Turrets.

Some managed to deflect the projectiles with their greatswords and their speed, but it was futile. As soon as the snipers started focusing on them, they could no longer advance! @@novelbin@@

From the watchtowers, ten snipers, including Lysandra shot at them using upgraded silver bullets.

"They're really impressive… These Vampire Knights will be a problem if hundreds of them are attached at the same time." Shane muttered as he saw that their armor was incredibly tough and their claws were also able to destroy most of the projectiles thrown at them.

They were only struggling if the projectile was as fast as bullets.

"It's a good reference." Shane thought as he felt that these Vampire Knights were as strong as fully armored Super Soldiers. That was definitely a compliment since the Super Soldiers could fight against high-tier Zombies as long as they had the equipment to do so.

In any case, the moment a Vampire Knight staggered, the elves started using their Nature Abilities. They used their enchanted arrows and struck the Vampires.

"Sona… Otto… Use your strongest attacks. I want to see it." Shane commanded.

After all, they weren't inside a chamber where allies could be affected.

But this time, the target was outside their shelter.

In short, any form of destruction that their spells could do would be just fine.

"As you wish…" Sona replied with a smile while standing on the walls.

"My attack with take longer, so you can go ahead and attack first." Otto said. At this time, many Survivors in the shelter were simply watching the event, unworried about the attacks of the Vampire.

They were Tundra, Shenlong, and those who had just arrived in the Shelter this morning. These people were Layla and Bartholomew who had brought several crates of new drinks for consumption.

Furthermore, it could be seen that Sparky, the evolved Thunderbird…

All of them could tell that everything was under control and simply watched the battle unfold.

"The magicians are finally going to get serious." Tundra muttered.

"They're already casting strong spells for a while. So they still have other strong spells. They're really impressive." Layla muttered. She had actually come here to ask for help.

Well, she also wanted to kill a Zombie Lord, or to be exact, she wanted to obtain an item similar to Tundra's new emblem that enhanced his talent. After all, her current Telekinesis was only Master Grade. It was just not enough and she felt that her growth had become stagnant.

Even if she levels up, only her stats would increase and not her Talent after all. There were just too few things she could do with a Master Grade Talent.

"Ahhh… It's here… Sparky…" Bart suddenly said as he pointed at the hundreds of sharp icicles forming above Sona.

A cold wind had actually blown carrying sharp icicles with it!

Sona called forth a storm of icicles that engulfed the battlefield. Frostbite spread across vampire flesh…

Then came the fire. They could not move or escape at all because of the ice that was covering them. They could only watch as the massive fireball descended from above, crashing into the strongest Vampire Knight in front of them!

Boom!
