Chapter 598 598: New Shelter
With everyone's current Perception Level, they easily heard Tundra's words and glanced at him. However, none of them spoke, so he could only scratch his head as he turned to help the injured or starving people they had rescued.
None of them could deny that Eve was indeed beautiful but it didn't seem appropriate to talk about it since she was surrounded by modified humans who could be sensitive right now because of their current appearance.
In the end, Shane tasked Raze, Lysandra, Klara, Laura, and Layla, to assist these new recruits and brief them on their situation.
"What are you planning to do with them?" Klara, who had a Rare Grade Elemental Manipulation Talent, asked.
"They'll be staying here… This fortress will be repaired since I'll be using my Shelter Crystal to make this our territory." Shane said as he took out a Beginner Shelter Crystal.
Unfortunately, he already used the Advanced Shelter Crystal when he built the Eclipse Shelter. Then, he also used a lower quality of Shelter Crystal on Silver Mine Camp…
Because of that, he was only left with Beginner Shelter Crystals in his inventory.
"That's…" Raze saw this and immediately held Shane's hand.
"I have an Advanced Shelter Crystal here… Do you want to buy it from me? Just designate a bit more Spirit Stones to me." Raze said as she took out her Advanced Shelter Crystal.
Shane certainly has no issues with that but he suddenly recalled that the mining of the Spirit Stones could not be increased at the moment. According to Diana, the Silver Mine Camp was undergoing some massive changes as they were trying to expand.
"Wait… How about these Mana Stones instead? I can give you some of them right now." Shane said as he decided to trade some Mana Stones to Raze. Furthermore, they weren't Unrefined or Low-Purity ones, instead, they were the High-Purity Mana Stones found in the Fairy Realm.
"W-what's this…" It was Raze's first time seeing such a magical stone and she wasn't even sure if she could use this.
However, Roan, who was currently in her arm tattoo, felt extremely excited and begged Raze to take all of them!
There was no doubt that the Dragon was able to sense how valuable it was!
Shane smirked at this as he also realized that the tattoo mark was glowing. With that, he knew that Raze was talking to Roan and confirming the effects of the Magic Stone.
Because of that, he no longer had to explain what it was.
Shane just waited for a few moments before Raze smiled and accepted the Mana Stones… "I'll be taking them then."
Raze said as she gave the Advanced Shelter Crystal to Shane…
After the transaction was made, Shane quickly checked if the Advanced Shelter Crystal he received would have a similar effect to the ones he obtained before.
[ Advanced Shelter Crystal: This artifact has the power to claim and fortify a vast territory, transforming it into a self-sustaining stronghold. Once activated, the crystal will generate a powerful repelling force, pushing back zombies and other hostile entities from the designated area until it reaches full energy capacity.
It significantly boosts Production Speed, Culture Points, Shelter Durability, Defensive Structures, and Resource Generation.
When the crystal's energy is fully charged, low-tier and mid-tier zombies will be repelled entirely, and even high-tier zombies will hesitate to approach unless certain events occur. Additionally, the crystal grants access to unique defensive capabilities.
Starting Energy: 50%
Shelter Crystal Special Effects: Durable Fortress Effect and starts with three Barrier Generators.
[ Strong Fortress: All defensive units stationed within the Shelter receive enhanced reflexes, increased resistance to mental and physical exhaustion. Automated defenses and turrets gain increased accuracy and energy efficiency. ]
Shane read the effects and confirmed that it had different Special Effects. After all, the Eclipse Domain's Shelter Crystal granted him free 10 Ballista and 2 Automated Turrets before.
It was such a huge help in their defense during that time.
On the other hand, the Advanced Shelter Crystal this time could grant him three Barrier Generators which was definitely useful, considering how big this fortress was.
He just hoped that the Barrier Generators could cover the whole fortress.
"This is pretty good. But why did you not use it?" Shane asked Raze.
"What? Do you think I'm capable of running a shelter? I don't think I have the patience to do that." Raze replied while shaking her head.
There were simply too many responsibilities in making a shelter, especially for a large one.
She would need to find a stable source of food and water, builders or laborers, warriors to defend it, and other tasks from important to simple ones like finding doctors, cooks, and even those who would clean the surroundings.
There were simply too many things she needed to consider.
On the other hand, Shane seemed to have unlimited resources…
He would even bring various crops that she had never seen before as if he had a hidden farm that was not known to them.
Furthermore, Shane's recruits were all too loyal to him for some reason. Apparently, not everyone should be completely loyal to them since according to the conversation she had in the chat, many recruits would decide to leave if they found themselves capable of living on their own…
However, all of Shane's recruits were loyal to him even if he wasn't observing them. They would complete their tasks fairly and not cheat with food and their work even without supervision.
Lastly, Shane's wealth was too immense… If he wanted to build a road, Raze knew that Shane was truly capable of doing it.
In any case, Shane was happy with this, since getting more territories would give him a chance to upgrade his Territory Lord Title.
***
Soon, Shane found himself back in the Zombie Lord's Chamber.
He felt that this was the center of the fortress and of course, he planned to set up the Advanced Shelter Crystal here to be safe.
At this time Raze and a few people had joined him to watch how this would unfold.
"You sure about this?" Raze asked again before Shane could activate the crystal.
"This place reeks of death. We might be able to find a better location."
However, Shane wasn't dissuaded at all. "Exactly why we're keeping it…"
With that, he raised the crystal high—and activated it.
[ Do you wish to spend 10,000 Spirit Points to claim this piece of land? ]
This question popped out, and Shane was already quite familiar with this.
The amount of Spirit Points just differs depending on the Shelter Crystal's capacity.
Nonetheless, with his current Spirit Points, it wasn't really a big deal.
Anyway, Shane also observed the image that had appeared. It showed the map of the surroundings, and there was a highlighted portion on it that included a small portion of land outside the Fortress perhaps for farming or a pasture.
'Interesting…' Shane gently nodded as also confirmed that within this area, all the buildings he'd make in the future would have better durability, and any productions here would be faster.
It means that they would have a higher yield when farming.
"Yes…" Shane answered.
[ Spirit Points deducted: 10,000.]
[ Area claimed successfully. Zone established: 1,530 meters x 840 meters. ]
[ Shelter Crystal activation in progress… ]
The activation process didn't take that long as if it only scanned the territory he was about to get.
[ Advanced Shelter has been established. ]
[ Shelter Crystal has successfully established the first building: Advanced Shelter Core.]
[ Building effects: +100% Building Durability, +50% Production Speed within the territory.]
[ Shelter Defense: Zombies and undead creatures of Tier 2 and below will be repelled.
[ Energy Charge: 80%.]
[ Estimated time to full charge: 48 hours.]
[ Warning: The Shelter Crystal must be placed inside the territory to maintain its effect.]
The moment Shane channeled his energy into the crystal, a pulse of radiant light erupted from its core, spreading outward like a shockwave and started forming the platform where the Shelter Crystal could be placed…
Then, the ground continued to tremble as the fortress itself began to reshape, its broken walls started reforging and its shattered gates even mended itself like magic!
[ Territory Name: Dreadnight Fortress ]
[ You can change the name of the Shelter name once. ]
[ Do you want to change its name? ]
"Yes…" Shane immediately said as he didn't like the name Dreadnight. It sounded evil and he didn't want his shelter to be perceived as such.
"Name it New Genesis Fortress."
[ Territory Name: New Genesis Fortress ]
[ Current Territory: Springriver Manor ( 100% ), Silver Mine Camp ( 100% ), Eclipse Domain ( 59% ), New Genesis Fortress ( 8% ) ]
As soon as he finished naming the shelter, Shane continued to receive notifications from the system.
This time, it was about the three Barrier Generators that had appeared in three different locations within the fortress. She was quite excited about this part since the Barrier Generators must be something he could analyze with Cloud and his Otherworldly Mechanic Talent.
Then, with the Anima Store, he believed that he had a chance of copying it if they could produce better barriers than the current ones he could build with his blueprints.
What do you think?
