Chapter 745: Chapter 392: Roarer Jump Device
Taurus Star Domain, Gleaming Star, near the Stargate Base Station.
In the Taurus Star Domain, the controlling powers were two Duchies, each anchored by a Battleship, whose families fell just shy of the top tier. Although the area of the Taurus Star Domain wasn’t large, and its resources were not dominant among the twelve star domains of the Chenxing Principality, the ownership of “Gleaming Star”—this mid-range Stargate Base Station—still allowed both families to live quite comfortably.
It was only the occasional incursion of Star Thieves that would cause some minor headaches for the two families.
Precisely because of this, the Battleships of the Alpha Family and the Wu Family were generally stationed at the Gleaming Star Base Station in turns.
Of course, all Battleships were forbidden from engaging in any form of internal strife, a rule even the Star Thieves could not defy. Otherwise, should the situation escalate, there would be no need to involve the Torch divisions of the Four Great Empires; both the Chenxing Principality and the Yaohan Kingdom would be the first to object.
The Battleships of the Alpha and Wu families primarily served as a deterrent. After all, the merchant fleets coming from the Yaohan Kingdom had a bit of arrogance about them. Without the presence of a formidable High Rank Warship to oversee the situation, it’s uncertain what troubles they might stir up.
That day, the ordinarily peaceful Gleaming Star mid-range Stargate Base Station welcomed the arrival of a ten-thousand-meter-long Battleship. However, this event didn’t cause much stir since in the past half-month, many Battleships had appeared, and the Low Rank Torch Ship Captains in the station had become quite accustomed to the sight.
“Prime Ancestor, what’s happening?”
Seeing the Warship suddenly halt, both Song Chi and Song Ze were puzzled.
Given the current status of their Song Family, it stood to reason that the Alpha and Wu families should have arranged the optimal transfer times as a priority, yet they were told to wait for two days—why so?
The Prime Ancestor shook his head slightly.
“There’s a problem with the mid-range Stargate; it’s currently undergoing emergency repairs!”
Faced with this reason, the three of them had nothing to say and could only wait.
The next day, Song Chi was engaged in Visualization. However, Song Ze was considering a stroll outside.
“Shall we go out for a walk? The Torch Ship Captains at this Gleaming Star Base Station come from varied backgrounds, many from the forces of the Yaohan Kingdom and the East Soil Star Domain. It’s said that quite a few good items often appear!”
Song Ze was rather interested. Had his body’s Spectral Energy been restored, he would have dragged Song Chi out the day before.
Song Chi did not refuse.
His Guidance Technique had hit a major bottleneck, and there was no point mentioning the snail’s pace at which his Spiritual Force was improving. It would do him good to walk about.
The Gleaming Star mid-range Stargate Base Station was not particularly large; after all, it was nothing like the Dinghai Transfer Base Station, which could connect every star domain in the Duchy. It only had one transfer drop point, to the Yaohan Kingdom’s East Soil Star Domain.
The orbit’s diameter of the base station might not rival the Dinghai Transfer Base Station, but “small but complete” was the best description. It consisted of a docking area, ship repair area, maintenance area, trading area, supply area, entertainment area, and so on.
Naturally, Song Chi and Song Ze were only interested in the trading area, which was located at the very heart of the station and the busiest part of it.
A variety of shops were aligned on both sides of the orbit, and in the corners near the entrances of these shops, one could find numerous small personal stall spaces—as space was indeed at a premium at the base station and the trading area was especially limited.
“Cousin, look at that stall over there; they actually have an Orange Quality main cannon component.”
Following Song Ze’s gaze, Song Chi looked towards a nearby stall. Although it was just a small personal stall placed at the edge of a corridor, there were several Purple Components and one Orange Component on display, which was quite eye-catching.
Song Chi naturally had little interest in this main cannon, but it was different for Song Ze. His Flagship had also just advanced to Cruiser status, and although his great-grandfather from the previous generation had promptly secured a second Main Cannon Component for him, it was only Purple Quality.
After much haggling, Song Ze ultimately shook his head in resignation. The seller’s price was too high, and he didn’t have enough Floating Land Origin on hand.
“How much are you short?”
Song Chi asked. He had plenty of Third Rank Floating Land Origin at hand, so supporting this cousin, with whom he had a fairly good relationship, was possible.
“I need four hundred strands of Third Rank Floating Land Origin.”
Song Ze was delighted and did not refuse, well aware that as a member of the family hierarchy, Song Chi had financial resources far beyond his own.
Once Song Chi produced four hundred strands of Third Rank Floating Land Origin, Song Ze happily secured the Orange Main Cannon.
“Consider it a loan. I will pay it back when I can…”
Song Chi paid no mind to the latter part of Song Ze’s assurance. His attention was now fixed on another stall nearby.
“Is this a Fifth Rank Void Crystal?”
Approaching the stall, he picked up a small, exquisite crystal.
The stall owner was a Torch Ship Captain who had recently entered the Third Rank of the Guidance Technique, sporting a harmless smile. Upon seeing Song Chi approach, he promptly nodded in greeting:
“Good eye, customer. This is indeed a Fifth Rank Level Void Crystal. It took a great deal of effort to acquire it…”
Song Chi waved his hand, cutting off the vendor’s uninformative chatter. The man appeared quite ordinary, but under Song Chi’s Double Pupils, he could see the thick murk of blood energy surrounding the man—an indication of personally slaughtering many Living Beings.
Remember, the key point was personal slaughter, not controlling a Warship.
“One strand of Sixth Rank Floating Land Origin, will you sell?”
Without any superfluous words, he offered his price, which was the going rate for such an item. He was willing to pay more if the seller disagreed.
Fifth Rank Void Crystals were necessary for the further Enhancement of the “Enslavement Medal” Component towards Sixth Rank, and they were also a fundamental requirement for the “Silver Apple Mother Tree” to continue its advancement to Sixth Rank.
What do you think?
