God of Systems: Maker of Heroes and Villains

Chapter 262: Let's Renew The Deal, Princess

Thousands of people all over the continent saw a miraculous screen appear in front of them early in the morning. Most of them had the same notification of being selected by a god, but there were some who received special messages instead.

This included medium to big name merchants and nobles of all three regions.

A random man who worked as a blacksmith woke up to see the bright blue screen in front of him that had a really short message.

[Congratulations, you have been selected to become a devotee of the great God of Systems. Would you like to accept? Click on the word to select your answer.]

[Yes | No]

[Note: By accepting, you will receive multiple perks and a huge chance of awakening.]

The blacksmith read the contents on the screen multiple times and rubbed his eyes just to check if he was seeing right.

His hands shook as his finger got close to the "yes" option on the screen.

"An awakening…." he muttered as he recalled his childhood when he ran around posing as a great hero who could kill hundreds of bad men while the people of his empire celebrated his heroism.

[Congratulations, you are now a follower of the God of Systems.]

[Awakened Ability found.]

[Talent: D grade]

[Awakened ability: Ice Creation]

A few hundred kilometers away, a rich merchant woke up beside his mistress before he too saw the system screen.

[Congratulations, you have been selected to become a devotee of the great God of Systems. Would you like to accept? Click on the word to select your answer.]

[Yes | No]

[Note: By accepting, you will receive multiple perks and a huge chance of awakening. Some of the perks include long distance communication and trading.]

Unlike the blacksmith who had gotten way too emotional, the merchant recklessly clicked on the yes option without much thought.

[Congratulations, you are now a follower of the God of Systems.]

[Scanning Genetic Code… user is an Awakened. Gathering Data.]

[Scan Complete]

[Talent: F grade]

[Awakened ability: Mental Calculator]

[Giving access to Global Chat.]

[Giving access to Global Trade.]

[Would you like to read the rules for the trade and chat functions?]

"Yes." the merchant said as he ignored the grade of his awakened ability because even though it was an F grade, it had helped him reach his current position.

[Chat Rules:]

[All of the user's chats will be exposed to the world as long as they use the global chat.]

[User will get one free global message once they activate their system. Once it's used, the subsequent global messages will cost 10 grams, 100 grams and 1000 grams of gold based on the type of message the user wishes to send.]

[Chats between friends will be free for one month. But from the next month onwards, the users will have to pay a small membership of 1 Brak/Barom/Bronze coin weekly.]

[Users have the permission to create guilds, with each guild having a maximum capacity of 200 members and the guilds can also form alliances with other guilds.]

[Guilds will require to pay a maintenance fee of 8 Zen per month and the members of the guilds will not need to buy a weekly membership to communicate in the guild chat.]

[Trade Rules:]

[Users can trade with gold and silver only. This is due to the upcoming war that will take place soon and trades independent of the currencies of various regions will keep the server trade market stable.]

[5% is taken by the system as a trade tax for the convenience it will provide.]

[There will be no restrictions on the things you can trade.]

[Those who are caught using the loopholes in the system will be punished. Example: using trade system to transport objects for no money.]

'So the first month is free… even with all the fees, it's really worth it. I can also keep my trades secretive so I wouldn't have to pay as much taxes as before…. Or maybe the others can see my name? Yeah how else are they going to identify that it's me?'

The merchant had many questions but he got no answers.

There were similar situations happening all throughout the continent and unfortunately for Keith, such a huge movement did not go unnoticed by his enemies.

In many of the houses where the systems appeared, there were extremely small spiders that were silently spying on the humans.

On a small boat that floated on the vast ocean, a mini skeleton and a tall, slender woman sat on two opposite ends.

The women had her eyes closed during the entire trip, but she suddenly opened them before frowning.

"Master's plans are going to take way too long… compared to master's clone. I must relay this message to him no matter what." she said and stood up, but the skeleton grabbed her by the ankle.

"Master's words are absolute. He told us to take our army to that continent and wreak havoc during the war and that is our only job. I will not allow you to go against his orders." the skeleton said as he looked up at her.

The women hissed as her arms and legs tore and split, forming six meter long legs that were as thin as a twig. A huge bulge appeared on her backside as she completed her transformation.

"If I transform, I'll drag you down to the ocean. Do you really want to fight me, you venomous witch? Your acids and venom can't do a thing to me." the skeleton said as his body began to slowly grow bigger.

"….." the humanoid spider stared at the skeleton for a few seconds before turning back to normal. She then silently sat down in the boat while the skeleton followed suit.

She glanced at her current partner for the mission and sighed, "I get a brainless pile of bones this time… I'd appreciate someone with the ability to make rational decisions instead."

"Just tell your spiders to relay the message to master instead of complaining." the skeleton said, but the woman spit on his skull before giving him a scornful look.

The saliva eroded the skull of the skeleton, but the hole quickly recovered back to normal.

Seeing this, she gave him a direct answer, "My babies can't get past the barrier around Master's cave. Only the five generals can get in but I can't expect someone who was promoted to one just a few weeks ago to understand now, can I?"

The skeleton shrugged and put his bony hand into his mouth before magically pulling out a huge sack filled with an extremely stinky material.

He then pushed the sack towards the spider lady and pointed at the ocean, "Don't forget the reason we are taking this long route instead of just teleporting to that continent. Get to work."

"Hmph!" she snorted grumpily as she grabbed the sack and threw it high up into the air without exerting much of her strength.

The skeleton immediately jumped into the ocean and instantly gigantified itself, displacing a huge volume of water. It's hand went up while the woman transformed into a giant humanoid spider before shooting out a thick web from her backside.

Once the web came in contact with the skeleton's hand, it turned extremely hard and this propelled the spider higher until it reached the sack.

Once she got close, she stopped ejecting the web and turned midair by using her legs to push the top of the hard web pillar. She spun like a high speed spinning top and smacked the sack with her legs.

First hit burst the sack open while the next few hits helped the contents inside spread in the air. Just two seconds later, she fell back down but just before she reached the water, she stabbed her sixteen sharp legs into the pillar of hard silk to slow down her landing.

The skeleton silently watched her land smoothly on the boat and once this was done, he grabbed the pillar with his free hand and pulled. His palm came off along with the pillar of spider silk, but he didn't care and simply threw it into the ocean before shrinking back to his miniature form.

Spider lady shot out a thin stand of silk towards the skeleton, which he grabbed and used to pull himself back to the boat since he couldn't really swim.

"Done… now we move forward for another few kilometers and repeat the process once again." he said as he climbed onto the boat and sat down.

The spider lady ignored him, but he didn't care. All that mattered to him, was his master's mission and to complete it without any mistakes was his only goal.

*************

Unaware of the danger that was approaching the continent, Keith leisurely walked into Third Prince Mathew's room and saw Leora sitting graciously in front of the tea table.

"I'm back… but I wanna negotiate my payment." Keith said as he walked towards one of the chairs and sat down.

Leora frowned when she heard this and turned to look at her brother who shrugged, "I don't know about your deal."

"Don't worry, I'm not asking for more money." Keith said and sighed, "I've helped by giving you almost twenty thousand soldiers if we include Duke Arthur's contributions. Did I get that right?"

Leora nodded, "Yes, we can round it up to twenty thousand to make the calculations easier."

"Right. I'm here to propose a new deal. Out of those twenty thousand, I want five thousand for myself. I'll train them into elite soldiers and they will fight on your side. But, they'll belong to me after the war ends. What do you say? In return, I don't need any money."
