Ryu's intent gaze on the obelisk paused as he looked off into the distance. He only gave it a brief glance before he snorted, his gaze turning back to the obelisk.
The density of darkness around him deepened and he released a growl. It couldn't be seen, but veins popped up across his skin beneath the plumes of blackness. His strain increased considerably in a brief instant, but he stood there unmoved.
He wouldn't fall here. No one could stop him.
He would rewrite everything if he had to.

Ailsa felt something ripped out of her. The tendrils of darkness quickly accumulating vanished.
