Ryu tilted his head to the side, his gaze becoming more focused.

These three weren't using great attacks. The Almighty wasn't even forming up powerful waves of Control. It was akin to throwing light jabs rather than all-out roundhouses.

Whether it was Zercius or Primus, the two of them were only painting in the lines, the former sending out chains that restricted movement and attacked, while the latter was drawing strokes of runes into the air that carried similar and amplifying effects.

The well-roundedness of the three combatants was probably the scariest part. Not one of them was solely focused on Control, or defense, or attacks.

They were all doing all three, and because of that, there was no easy and obvious weakness to target. At most, Ryu could rank them in terms of difficulty to deal with, with Almighty being first and Primus being dead last.

But that alone wasn't enough to change things at all. There was nothing to exploit.

Worse of all, the armies in the surroundings seemed to have come to a complete stop. One would think that they would take this opportunity to rush after Ryu's wife, but they didn't move a single inch, just boxing Ryu in.
