Rhys stood there like a statue. He knew the call was cut off, but her words were echoing in his mind. Something bad had happened. She was not telling him because of the family head.

Rhys felt it must be related to his own son, Charon. He couldn't even stay calm for a second. He wanted to leave right away. He quickly made a decision and started packing his things.

Meanwhile,

Donna was at home. She was honestly scared. The whole Perry Family didn't want Rhys to return until they found the killer of Charon.

Otherwise, with Rhys's character, he might charge into the True Elements Society. She understood Head Cooper's worry, but she couldn't refuse Rhys's words.

That's why she gave him an indirect message. She hoped that the family would find the culprit soon.

The following day,

I went to class to attend the lectures as usual. When the lectures were over, I went to the mana chamber to practice.

The only thing I could focus on was to increase my status little by little. After practicing for a few hours, I returned to the dorm room at night.

To my surprise, Leona was not here to stop me. But I wouldn't be stopping my vigilance. The day ended without problems just like that.

A few days passed by.

The Perry Family was still looking for the killer, but they were unsuccessful. The Perry Family Head, Cooper, even invited some wizards with special magic to look for Charon's corpse.

But they were unsuccessful in the end as well. Every visitor deemed Charon's death a mystery to them. It became so complex to crack that the visitors felt the Perry Family had offered someone powerful.

It was a job way over their pay grade and strength. They didn't want to offend any new enemy while helping the Perry Family.

Cooper was not naive. He could see the change in the attitude of the people while leaving. They were basically conveying that they wouldn't be returning to this place.

It had been a couple of days since Charon's death. The outside world thought that Charon had taken a few days off to relax, but only the family knew the truth.

In his office, Cooper saw the unread messages. He had used his connections for help. These people were recommending a number of individuals with unique and weird magic.

Some of them were dark wizards who did jobs for money. He had even sought help from them, but like the others, they had failed as well.

Leona Perry walked in. She sat in the chair opposite him.

"Dad, is there any breakthrough?" she asked.

Cooper shook his head before replying, "I didn't expect the killer of Charon Perry to turn out to be powerful and mysterious."

"No one was able to find any small clue, including the dark wizards. It looks like Charon Perry's death did not happen all of a sudden."

"I think it's pre-planned. Otherwise, you can't find the mysterious wizards just like that," he said in a serious tone.

Don't know why, Leona Perry thought of Vincent Carey. She then shook her head again. At first, she had this thought as well.

But over the past few days, her father had invited really powerful wizards to look into the case. Each one of them could be called an asset to the wizard organization.

Even such people had failed to find the culprit. So she thought Vincent Carey's appearance was pure coincidence.

"What's your grandfather doing?" Cooper asked.

"He is at his residence," she replied.

"Watch him. If he leaves his residence, inform me," he said.

Leona got confused. She looked at her father for answers.

Cooper saw through her doubts and replied, "Father wants to investigate the case himself. He thinks that the killer has already escaped and we are just wasting time with the investigation."

"But we don't know the killer yet," she said.

"He thinks that kid, Vincent Carey, knows the truth. He wants to capture and interrogate him," Cooper replied.

"Impossible! He is just a level-6 wizard. I think he was there by pure coincidence. And we know who is standing behind him."

"None of their profiles match the killer," she said.

Sigh!

"I think the same as well. But father doesn't want to leave any chances. He wants to be thorough. So I'm working to find the killer before him," Cooper replied.

"Okay, you can go to class and continue your studies. You don't have to be involved in this matter anymore. If someone powerful is involved, then your life will be endangered as well," Cooper said.

Leona nodded her head. Then they spoke about a few other topics before leaving. When she left, Cooper let out a sigh.

It had been tiring for him. Somehow, the aristocratic families were able to learn that the Perry Family was working on something. Everyone thought it was for the Aristocratic Faction.

But they didn't know about Charon's death.

Time passed.

At night, the former family head, Callen, left his residence just like that. No one was able to sense his presence. He was a Magic Lord.

When he saw numerous shadows hiding in the dark to monitor his residence, he shook his head. He thought Cooper was worrying too much.

The Perry Family was not weak. In the worst case, their growth would be halted. It might take decades to recover.

But if they remained silent, then they might have to face the same situation again.

Callen left the Perry Family estate and went to the Perry Family Hotel. Ever since Charon's death was confirmed, he had been visiting the Perry Family Hotel late at night without informing anyone.

The room where Charon had stayed last time was declared forbidden to enter, but he had been coming to this room to find any clues. The staff had seen Charon sleeping on the bed before his disappearance.

Then Charon was nowhere to be seen when they came to check on him a few minutes later.
