Chapter 1258 Part 2: Rhys Perry's last card
Main City:
Aaron Perry spoke to the family head before ending the call.
"Lord, the family head has summoned me just now," Aaron said with hesitation. He didn't know whether this madman would allow him to leave.

"It's already past noon. I doubt that kid will come," Rhys's eyes flashed with a chill.
"You can return and come back after the meeting," he added.
"Okay," Aaron Perry felt as if someone had granted him his life.
So he left the place immediately. He hoped that the current family head would give him some other task. He could use the opportunity to escape from the madman.
When he was gone, a cold smile appeared on Rhys's face.
"It looks like it's time to use this trash," he said to himself. He had already fixed the date of Aaron Perry's demise. Before that, he wanted the other party to finish his job.
He immediately took out a small bottle. A dark black liquid was squirming inside. It was deadly poison.
"I originally didn't want to use it, but Aaron Perry has spoiled the plan. Now he can only pay with his life," Rhys said in an icy tone.
...
From MC's Perspective:
I was at Elder Paul Lin's office again. I had been coming to his place a lot. It would be better if they had classes here.
Creak!
Then I opened the door to walk in. My gaze fell on Elder Paul, who had a heavy expression on his face.
"Elder, what happened?" I immediately sat opposite him.
Paul raised his head and replied, "Head Howard is not here. He seems to have gone somewhere without informing anyone."
"We don't know when he will return. On top of it, Rhys Perry's return has added pressure only Head Howard can handle," he added.
Hearing that, my eyes flashed with doubt.
"Elder, I have always wondered why everyone relies on Head Howard. What about the Palace Masters?"
"They are part of the True Elements Society as well. Shouldn't they take some responsibility to quell the unrest here?" I asked.
Paul Lin showed a bitter smile.
"The Supreme Wizards are not all loners. Some have sponsors and families as well. These Aristocratic Families have been sponsoring some Palace Masters with magical resources."
"You can see why they are daring to go against Head Howard," Paul Lin replied.
Hearing that, I sighed inwardly. This organization was totally different from the Yellow River Academy. Everyone was practical and acted based on their own self-interest.
Maybe it's the mentality of the powerful wizards.
"Elder, have you spoken to Elder Stella?"
"What did she say?" I asked.
"I told her your story. At first, she was in disbelief. But then, nobody knows about Rhys Perry's name. It was something that happened a decade ago."
"Even some of the elders don't know about it. So she believed you," he said.
Hearing that, I asked, "Is there any photo of him available?"
"I want to be careful of this man again in the future," I insisted.
"This... you can only request Elder Stella. She has access to the database," Paul Lin replied.
Sigh!
A sigh left my mouth. I didn't want to drag this matter on any longer.
"Elder, look at this." After saying that, I handed him the letter. Before coming here, I had already put the black token in the storage ring.
"Letter?" Paul Lin raised his eyebrows in surprise.
Then he unfolded the letter and began to read it.
His expression changed drastically.
"What is this?" he asked.
"Elder, I guess the letter was sent by Rhys Perry," I replied.
"Why?"
"But there was no sender's name. Yet the person wants you to meet him in the main city," Elder Paul Lin said.
"Elder, didn't I tell you yesterday? Someone was stalking me. Apart from the Perry Family, no one could make the dorm mates pass the letter into my room," I replied.
Hearing that, a look of understanding dawned on his face.
"Again, we can do nothing without Head Howard. We can't even disclose the news to the other elders."
"If everyone learns about this, then it might trigger the Perry Family to act differently. So just wait until Head Howard returns."
"I will give the letter to Elder Stella," Paul Lin replied.
Hearing that, I nodded to him. I didn't have to reveal the black token. Since Head Howard was not here, I doubted the elders would take any proper action.
So it was better not to tell them about the black token.
Then I stood up and left the office.
...
Time passed,
Nighttime arrived. Rhys Perry never left the private room. His eyes were reddened with anger. He thought Aaron Perry would return right away.@@novelbin@@
But he didn't come back. Rhys was not naive. He thought that trash might have used this opportunity to escape from him.
If not for the urgent situation, he wouldn't have tolerated the trash. But he wanted Vincent Carey dead. Since the kid didn't come today.
He thought the plan was foiled. There was no need for him to wait here. Since he had deadly poison, he decided to sacrifice Aaron Perry.
He then immediately contacted his father. The former family head Callen answered the call. When he heard his son needed the assistance of Aaron Perry for intel gathering...
He didn't ask any further questions. He immediately ordered Aaron Perry to return to his son's side. When the call ended, Rhys Perry cracked a cruel grin.
He was going to feed the poison and slowly torture him. To think a trash dared to disobey him.
Meanwhile,
Aaron Perry, who got the news, was petrified on the spot. He had known the madman was up to something.
So he had used the family head's summoning as an opportunity to slip away. But he didn't think that madman would call the former family head for help.
Aaron Perry could feel a bad premonition. But if he refused to obey the order, then the former family head would skin him alive.
With a heavy heart, he left the place.
What do you think?
