Chapter 1316: Vincent Carey is missing?
From MC's Perspective:
"He is from my neighboring country. He is my enemy as well," I replied.
Sharon Lee frowned. She finds it troublesome now. It's because that old man was powerful. His potential seemed to have been exhausted after reaching the Supreme.
But he is part of the Sub-Taboo Faction as well. His Meteor Magic was not qualified to enter the door of the Taboo Faction.
She then said, "You have brought me a new problem now. Your enemy is from the Sub-Taboo Faction as well."
"What are you going to do?" she added.
Hearing that, I didn't know what to say. But I felt better after telling her the truth. I didn't want any complications to happen later.
"Both of our home nations are hostile to each other. But there is no personal enmity. I doubt whether he remembers me," I said to her.
A look of understanding dawned on her.
"If it's not personal enmity, then there is no huge problem," she said in a relaxed tone.
Phew!
I heaved a sigh of relief.
Shortly afterward,
Palma Wonders came alone. Her eyes were wet. Clearly, she had cried her heart out. But no one pointed it out.
Then we left the wonders shop and appeared high above Brendan City.
Sharon Lee took out a sleek advanced aircraft from her Storage Artifact.
Upon seeing that, my eyes gleamed with a twinkle. From its design alone, I could tell that the aircraft's speed must be fast.
The aircraft then expanded to a large size in front of her eyes.
Creak!
The cabin door opened the next moment.
"Get inside," Sharon Lee told us.
Hearing that, Palma and I entered the cabin. We each sat in our favorite seats. As usual, I sat in the window seat.
Then I noticed Lord Sharon entered the cabin. She put the aircraft on auto-pilot mode. The aircraft would reach Mage City once the destination was set.
I was amazed inside. This level of advanced tech could only be found in Mage City.
Sharon Lee then sat in her seat.
Swoosh!
The blue aircraft turned around and started flying towards the destination. The speed was so fast that the sound of air tearing could be heard.
Inside the cabin, I was feeling thrilled. I didn't know about the defense capabilities of the aircraft.
Nobody in Brendan City was aware of this except Palma's parents. If they knew someone from the Mage Union had come, not only them, even the Brendan Clan behind them would have been alarmed.
...
True Elements Society:
Inside the special mage department, the students had returned and started attending classes as usual.
On the other hand, the renovation work was going on. Many of the buildings that were destroyed earlier were now being rebuilt.
Yet there were some buildings that were left alone. They were the buildings of the Magic Palace Masters. Many Supreme Wizards left the organization in the face of the threat at that time.
Those who rebelled and fought inside the campus were all killed. But there were a few Supreme Wizards who had left the territory completely. They had yet to return.
Considering their actions of betrayal, there was no possibility of them staying here. If they returned, they might face threats from Head Howard.
So far, there was no news about them. That's why the Magic Palace buildings were left alone.
At this time, Paul Lin was worried about something else. The True Elements Society had returned to normal, but there was no news about Vincent Carey.
He had thought Vincent Carey would return after hearing the news. But he had yet to come back. Paul Lin had tried to contact him.
But there was no connection whatsoever. The messages and calls were not reaching Vincent Carey. He couldn't help but feel bad.
He thought something worse had happened to Vincent Carey. When this feeling grew stronger, he immediately left the Special Mage Department.
He was going towards the Intelligence Tower. He planned to talk with Stella. Earlier, when he spoke to Stella, she hadn't taken it seriously.
Shortly afterward,
He arrived at her office cabin. Seeing that she was inside, he informed her before walking in. Stella was sitting behind the desk.
She was not surprised upon seeing him because she had seen him enter the Intelligence Tower a few minutes ago.
Paul Lin sat in front of her. His expression was serious. A bead of sweat could be seen on his forehead. His overall appearance looked bad.
"What happened?" Stella asked.
"This kid isn't picking up the call. I don't even know whether he is alive or not," Paul said in a serious tone.
Hearing that, Stella frowned. She understood what this was about.
"Our relationship with that kid has been estranged ever since we used him as bait against Rhys Perry," Stella said in a sad tone.
She didn't know whether it was bad timing or what. She had tried to convince that kid. But bad things had happened quickly.
Before they could resolve their misunderstanding with Vincent Carey, the former Perry Family Head Callen attacked the campus.
They hadn't had time to check whether that kid was okay or not. Now that the threat was gone, that kid was supposed to come back. So why was he not coming back?
"What do you think?" Paul asked.
"I had already told the elders to look for Vincent Carey. But I hadn't received any information so far," she replied.
"During the battle, Head Howard had asked me to protect Vincent Carey. If he knows that Vincent Carey is nowhere to be found, he would be pissed off," Paul Lin said with a trembling tone.
"Does she know?" Stella asked.
"Supreme Wizard Phylia," Paul Lin uttered.
To that, Stella nodded her head.
Sigh!
"She is busy finding other Supremes. She doesn't know," Paul Lin said.
"First, we need to find out whether he is alive or not," Stella said.
"I can check the life Artifact. But Head Howard banned anyone from checking the Life Artifact for the time being. He wants to weed out traitors first," Paul Lin said.
"It's troublesome. We can only inform him then," Stella said. Because she thought if Vincent Carey was in real trouble, then they would have to rescue him.
"Okay, let's go and meet him," Paul Lin said right away.
About ten minutes later,
They came to Head Howard's cabin. Upon receiving their arrival, Howard allowed them to come in.
He was sitting behind the desk. Since that incident, he had been busy capturing the traitors. He had forgotten about the two of them.
Both of them then entered the room and sat opposite him. Howard noticed the gloominess on their faces.
"What happened?" he asked.
Paul Lin showed complicated emotions on his face. Before he could speak, Stella decided to talk first.
"We have been trying to contact Vincent Carey. But we couldn't reach him," Stella said.
Hearing that, Howard frowned. He recalled ordering Paul to find and protect that kid.
"When did he leave?" he asked.
"I don't know. When I tried to find him during the attack, he was nowhere to be found," Paul Lin admitted.
Howard was getting angry. He knew what had happened during his absence. When he was outside trying to find resources for that kid, these people had created an unsafe environment here.
They even dared to use that kid as bait. If not for Supreme Wizard Phylia, he didn't know what would have happened.
If it were others, he would've punished them. But these two were loyalists. They had stayed back even during the attack.
Right now, he needed their assistance in managing the organization's operations as well.
"First, check the life Artifact," Howard said.
Hearing that, Paul and Stella felt a huge weight lifted off their shoulders. They thought Head Howard would punish them.
After some talk, they left to check Vincent Carey's life Artifact.
About twenty minutes later,
They were inside the Special Mage Department's Treasury. Paul Lin quickly found the life Artifact of Vincent Carey.
Seeing the gravity mana pulsating inside the glass, he was relieved. The life Artifact was created by a powerful wizard who had awakened the talent to craft life Artifacts.
So there couldn't be any mistake. Stella sighed in relief as well. Vincent Carey was sponsored by the Mage Union.
If something bad happened to Vincent Carey, then they would be answerable to the Mage Union. Now that he was fine, their next job was to find him.
"He is alive!"
"But how can we find him?" Paul Lin asked.
At this time, they both walked out of the treasury.
"There is a way. We can find the Fate or Mysterious Wizards to deduce his location," Stella said.
"But where can we find them?" Paul Lin asked.
"I'm going to ask around a few of my connections. If there is no result, we will report it back to Head Howard."
"As a Magic Lord, he must have powerful connections," Stella said.
Paul Lin's mood brightened after hearing that. Then they both got separated. They would be shocked to the core if they learned about Vincent Carey's plan.
What do you think?
