Chapter 357 - 246: I am the Great Sage Equalling Heaven
Although he hit Sun Wukong’s back directly with the World Suppressing Stele, Sha Wujing’s face was devoid of any joy. Without so much as glancing at Sun Wukong, who was spitting blood, Sha Wujing immediately turned around and swept his heavy crescent shovel in front of him. However, this confident sweep of Sha Wujing’s hit nothing but air. In fact, the place where Sha Wujing’s crescent shovel struck was already empty.
To onlookers, Sha Wujing’s actions seemed extremely abnormal; after striking Sun Wukong with the World Suppressing Stele, he immediately turned and swept his crescent shovel through the empty air behind him. After the miss, Sha Wujing appeared very puzzled, so he subconsciously turned back around. Then, a fist enveloped in black, white, and yellow light brutally smashed into Sha Wujing’s face.
Of course, the punch was delivered by Sun Wukong. Looking at him now, he didn’t show the slightest sign of injury. His merciless punch sent Sha Wujing flying backward. Sun Wukong took one step forward, and his figure instantly vanished, followed by a loud shout that boomed through the air, thundering as if from above the Nine Heavens, "Sha Wujing, won’t you wake up?" Amid the shout, Sun Wukong stepped across the void, appearing in front of Sha Wujing instead.
This time, although Sha Wujing was caught off guard by Sun Wukong, he managed to stop his body at the last moment. Then, turning around, he hurled his heavy crescent shovel fiercely at Sun Wukong. The forward momentum of his body combined with the full force of the throw sent the crescent shovel flying towards Sun Wukong with unbelievable speed. Find exclusive stories on Freewebnovel
The sequence of combat just now happened in the blink of an eye. Possessing the Fire Eyes of Extreme Evolution, Sun Wukong had long noticed that the Sha Wujing inside the broken water tornado was no longer his true body. He continued to attack because he wanted to deliberately expose a flaw. Indeed, as Sun Wukong had planned, when the doppelganger of Sha Wujing inside the water tornado broke apart, Sha Wujing’s true body emerged behind Sun Wukong.
What shocked Sun Wukong was that Sha Wujing directly used the World Suppressing Stele to smash him. Sun Wukong, who had not yet mastered the Wasteland Soil Divine Skills, used to love smacking people with the World Suppressing Stele. It was so lethal that a mere touch meant certain death. Knowing the power of the World Suppressing Stele, Sun Wukong decisively used his most powerful Space-time Divine Power, Reset, at the critical moment. He conjured a doppelganger nearly identical to his true self, though this doppelganger lacked any attack power.
So, Sha Wujing’s attack landed squarely on the doppelganger, which, under Sun Wukong’s control, didn’t vanish but instead spat out blood. Meanwhile, Sun Wukong planned to launch a sneak attack from behind Sha Wujing by breaking through space. However, as soon as a hint of his presence emerged, Sha Wujing detected it. Left with no choice, Sun Wukong had to use Reset once again, and his figure reappeared where it had originally been. @@novelbin@@
In truth, Sun Wukong’s research and application of the nearly heaven-defying skill of Reset were still quite superficial. Even so, the existence of this skill already filled Sun Wukong’s battles with endless variables. Sun Wukong had even wondered whether Reset could bring the dead back to life, but he never had the chance to try it out, so he gradually let the thought go.
The scene cuts back to the present, where Sun Wukong’s Jingu Bang was slowly raised in his hand just as the crescent shovel was thrown. With a gentle flick, the crescent shovel was sent flying away, and Sun Wukong’s own speed increased rather than decreased. However, fast as Sun Wukong was, Sha Wujing’s reaction was no slower.
As the crescent shovel was thrown, Sha Wujing’s hands slapped down on the Ultimate Water Stele number eight of the World Suppressing Stele. With his slap, two arm-thick deep blue water columns surged out from within the stele. The two water columns transformed into two water dragons that twisted around each other, tearing towards Sun Wukong.
If they were just ordinary water dragons, Sun Wukong would undoubtedly choose to dodge. But he dared not underestimate these water dragons condensed from the Ultimate Water Stele. His own Heavenly Stele contained Primordial Earth, so the Ultimate Water Stele surely possessed Primordial Water. Seeing the two water dragons appear, Sun Wukong decisively activated his own World Suppressing Stele without a moment’s hesitation.
Two giant hands formed from Three Thousand Barren Sands then reached out to grasp the two water dragons. As Sun Wukong activated the World Suppressing Stele, he suddenly paused, then looked puzzledly down at one of the four individuals still engaged in fierce combat below.
The person below seemed to sense something and looked up at Sun Wukong, then made a very discreet hand gesture. Sun Wukong’s expression changed, and after deeply regarding Sha Wujing, he sighed somewhat helplessly. His entire aura then burst forth, and behind him, two imposing, yet indistinct figures radiating black and white light emerged. These two figures just appeared, and Sun Wukong’s whole demeanor suddenly shifted to that of a supreme being to whom all beings must submit. Even though each figure was only three to four meters tall, they imparted the impression of standing between heaven and earth, venerable figures that inspired fear at a glance.
As the two shadows, one black and one white, appeared, they each lifted their left and right hands respectively. As they did, the black and white light on Sun Wukong’s body began to fluctuate violently and, as though being drawn, converged into the palms of the two shadows. After absorbing the two-colored light, the originally vague shadows became somewhat solidified.
Without further hesitation, Wukong’s Divine Sense stirred, and suddenly two patterns appeared behind him, looking very much like some kind of magical array. Then, an unparalleled black and white light erupted from the two array patterns, and Sun Wukong charged towards Sha Wujing with a speed beyond imagination. His body friction against the surrounding air and space was so intense that he burst into flames in an instant.
Not only that, but at the same time as Wukong’s figure moved, a pair of pale yellow wings formed entirely of the Three Thousand Barren Sands materialized behind his shoulders. As Wukong dashed forward, the wings flapped and subsequently transformed into two massive hands. All these events happened in the blink of an eye, and at that moment, Sha Wujing could only manage to react with one move, which was to defend. He mobilized the Ultimate Water Stele with all his might for defense.
Sha Wujing, not skilled in speed or evasion, found that in the instant Wukong launched his attack, a deep blue, almost black, column of water erupted around him and began to spin violently. This was the same move that had once blocked the attack from Ling Weiyang of the Myriad Demons Country, but now it was formed by the control of Supreme Primordial Water.
The next instant after the more than five-meter-thick and twenty-meter-tall pitch-black water column materialized, Sun Wukong had already become a fireball and smashed into it with force. Facing Primordial Water, Sun Wukong did not hesitate at all and crashed straight into it. However, a careful look revealed that although Wukong slammed hard against the column, his body did not touch the furiously spinning water; instead, the two massive hands extended from his shoulders, made of the Three Thousand Barren Sands, were pressing directly upon it.
The moment the two made contact, there was no thunderous roar or explosion, just the sound of the wind brought up by the spinning water column. By then, both the pitch-black column and the hands formed from the Barren Sands were visibly diminishing in size. As a result of the column’s rotation, a large clump of mud, loaded with the Elemental Power of water and earth, was rapidly flung away. Fortunately, water and earth elements were relatively stable; otherwise, an intense explosion would have probably occurred at the moment of contact.
Even so, the mud clumps formed from the melding of the two still contained terrifying power within them. After being flung by the column, they didn’t fall to the ground but remained silently suspended in mid-air. Soon, the pitch-black water column shrank more and more, and the two hands on Wukong’s back rapidly decreased in size. Finally, through his fiery-golden eyes, Sun Wukong could see Sha Wujing within the column, and it was indeed his true form.
Without waiting for the water column to dissolve completely, Sun Wukong let out a low shout, and the two arms detached from his back and instantly merged into the spinning column. Engulfed by the massive amount of Primordial Earth, the column merely spun a few symbolic revolutions before inertia scattered it all around.
The two shadows behind Wukong, standing side by side, extended arms close together, and as the water column vanished, they simultaneously struck out towards Sha Wujing. The black and white light that had appeared in Wukong’s body and merged into the two phantoms now concentrated on the two arms.
"I am Sun Wukong of the Water Curtain Cave on Flower Fruit Mountain, the Great Sage Equalling Heaven!" A dominant roar erupted from Sun Wukong, and following the thunderous voice, the two hands accelerated. The countless clumps of mud floating around also seemed to be drawn by something and plummeted towards the direction of the Primordial Palace.
Finally, the two enormous arms, seeming slow but in fact moving very fast, had already reached in front of Sha Wujing. At the last moment, Sha Wujing remained unfazed, chanting a Buddha name loudly, and his body radiated Golden Light. A huge Buddha statue filled with a serene aura emerged, enveloping Sha Wujing within.
And when Sun Wukong saw the suddenly appearing Buddha statue, two lines of tears slid down from his eyes!
"Master, Master!"
What do you think?
