Chen Feng's eyes narrowed to a single point, sharp and cold like a distant star.
The Liushang Sword in his hand trembled slightly, emitting a faint hum as all of Chen Feng's strength coalesced into a single, unified force, channeled directly into the blade.
Kill!
In that instant, only one thought remained in Chen Feng's mind.
To kill. To use the sword in his hand to utterly annihilate the enemy before him.
His body and mind became one, the sword an extension of his very being. With a fierce slash, the blade tore through the air.
A dazzling sword light split the atmosphere, leaving behind a thin, blinding line, like the horizon where the sea meets the sky.
Though the sword light was slender, its brilliance was unparalleled, as radiant as the midday sun.
Lei An's eyes instinctively squinted, stinging as if they might be blinded by the light.
Fast!
The sword strike was impossibly fast, faster than anything Lei An had ever seen. It felt as though his reactions were lagging, the air around him turning viscous.
As he swung his copper staff to block, the sword light had already passed through his burly frame.
One strike, one kill!
Lei An's body disintegrated in an instant.
Chen Feng staggered, a wave of soreness and numbness spreading through his entire body. It felt as though he had been completely drained, as if he had pushed himself far beyond his limits.
"Is this the power of the Thirteen Ultimate Swords?"
Despite his pale face, Chen Feng couldn't help but smile.
What he had just executed was only the first form of the Thirteen Ultimate Swords, yet its power was so immense that even a prodigy like Lei An, with his energy refined five times, couldn't withstand it for a moment. He had been instantly obliterated.
There were drawbacks, of course. After using that single strike, Chen Feng's vast reserves of energy were nearly depleted. Even the robust physique he had cultivated through the first level of the Mixed Heaven Sword Body felt weak and fatigued.
The strain of this technique was more than ten times greater than that of the Windshadow Annihilation Strike from the Fifteen Windshadow Swords.
"This move can only be used as a finishing blow," Chen Feng thought to himself.
He didn't rush to continue his challenge. Instead, he took a moment to recover his strength.
At the Mixed Heaven Battle Tower, more and more people were gathering.
Yang Xuening walked over, her face cold and unapproachable.
"It can't be him. It must be someone with the same name..."
She repeated this thought to herself, over and over.
News of Chen Feng's ascent through the Mixed Heaven Battle Tower had spread throughout the outer sect, inner sect, and even the seventy-two peaks.
Yang Xuening had naturally heard the rumors.
Her first reaction was disbelief. But the name mentioned in the rumors—Chen Feng, the true disciple of Juejian Peak—seemed to point to only one person.
After all, Juejian Peak currently had only one disciple.
The idea of it being a coincidence, someone with the same name, was nothing more than self-deception.
Yang Xuening arrived with a heart full of resentment and bitterness. She wanted to see for herself, though her emotions were a tangled mess.
Hatred, fear, and yet... a strange sense of anticipation.
When she arrived, her gaze fell on the Hidden Dragon Stone Tablet, where a name shone with silver light.
Chen Feng!
The familiar characters were now ranked ninth.
In that moment, Yang Xuening felt as though her scalp was on fire, her soul fleeing her body.
"Chen Feng... he's too strong..."
Li Xinyue, who had left the battle tower some time ago, stared at the name on the stone tablet, her sharp eyes filled with intense excitement.
Her gaze drifted downward to the very bottom of the list, where her own name, Li Xinyue, now appeared.
That's right. Li Xinyue had also successfully challenged the tower, defeating the hundredth-ranked disciple and taking their place.
This level of strength surpassed that of the vast majority of Body Tempering cultivators in the Mixed Heaven Sect, but Li Xinyue felt no pride. Instead, she felt an immense pressure.
As Chen Feng's follower, she couldn't afford to fall too far behind him. But the gap between them now was almost unimaginable.
While she had barely managed to defeat the hundredth-ranked disciple, Chen Feng had already climbed to ninth place.
Then, before her eyes, Chen Feng's name on the stone tablet shone even brighter, leaping to eighth place, pushing the previous occupant down.
This caused another wave of shock and awe among the onlookers.
Seventh!
Sixth!
Fifth!
Fourth!
Not long after, a beam of light shot out from the Mixed Heaven Battle Tower, and Chen Feng emerged.
"He's out! He's out!"
"Senior Brother Chen Feng, you're amazing!"
"To reach fourth place on your first attempt at the Mixed Heaven Battle Tower... that's unbelievable!"
Someone noticed Chen Feng's appearance and immediately exclaimed, sparking a wave of heated discussion.
Chen Feng, however, paid them no mind. He was still reflecting on the battle he had just fought on the ninety-eighth floor.
The guardian on that floor was no longer a core disciple but a true disciple. Though their energy had only been refined five times, the nature of their Mixed Heaven Energy far surpassed that of Mixed Origin Energy.
Moreover, true disciples possessed king-grade divine talents, which were even more powerful and potent than spirit-grade talents.
The guardian was also a few years older than Chen Feng, with more combat experience and mastery of incredibly powerful martial arts.
Even after unleashing the first form of the Ultimate Sword, Chen Feng had only managed to wound the guardian.
"The guardians on the last three floors are likely all true disciples, with Mixed Heaven Energy refined five times and king-grade divine talents..."
"But energy can be refined up to nine times. It seems that the top hundred on the Hidden Dragon Stone Tablet aren't necessarily the strongest hundred in the Mixed Heaven Sect."
Chen Feng mused to himself.
The Mixed Heaven Sect was vast, and there were undoubtedly more true disciples at the Body Tempering stage than those listed on the Hidden Dragon Stone Tablet. The upper limit of energy refinement couldn't possibly be capped at five.
What Chen Feng didn't know was that true disciples lacked for nothing in terms of cultivation resources. Their focus was on continuous self-improvement, and they had peers of similar strength to spar with. The trials of the Mixed Heaven Battle Tower and the contribution points it offered were of little importance to them.
This was unlike Juejian Peak, which had only three or four members.
Wang Yuandao and Yang Tao couldn't exactly serve as Chen Feng's sparring partners, could they?
Both were at the Transcendent Realm, making them completely unsuitable.
Li Xinyue wasn't a suitable opponent either.
The Mixed Heaven Battle Tower was the best option.
"I wonder what the Strongest Body Tempering Ranking is like?" Chen Feng pondered, feeling a sudden urge to find out.
Just then, a figure stepped in front of him. Chen Feng looked up and frowned.
"Chen Feng, it's me... your Xuening..."
Yang Xuening stood before him, her voice trembling, her face a picture of sorrow and regret, enough to make anyone who saw her feel pity.
"I was wrong. Please forgive me. Let's start over. I swear... I'll treat you right this time..."
Chen Feng ignored her, stepping around her without a word.
"Chen Feng... Chen Feng..."
Yang Xuening lunged forward, trying to embrace him, but Chen Feng sidestepped, causing her to stumble and fall face-first onto the ground.
"I was really wrong... You can scold me, hit me... I beg you..."
She quickly got up, tears streaming down her face as she pleaded.
"Move aside!"
Chen Feng coldly snapped, suddenly feeling a sense of weariness.
Back on the Sky Patrol Giant Ship, he had publicly humiliated Ye Yunqi, venting some of the anger in his heart. Yang Xuening had also been publicly slapped by him, and now she was in such a pitiful state.
The hatred he had once felt seemed to dissipate, leaving him with no desire to continue seeking revenge.
She was nothing more than a pitiful wretch.
Besides, Chen Feng knew that once the details of today's events were uncovered, Yang Xuening's reputation would be utterly ruined.
Wasn't that more satisfying than simply killing her?
Yang Xuening tried to lunge at him again.
"Get lost!"
A cold voice rang out as Li Xinyue stepped forward, delivering a powerful slap that sent Yang Xuening flying several meters. She landed hard, rolling several times before coming to a stop. Half of her face swelled up instantly, her hair disheveled, making her look like a vengeful ghost.
"Uncle Yang, let's go back."
Chen Feng decided to put aside his thoughts of challenging the Strongest Body Tempering Ranking for now. He turned to Yang Tao, who had been standing nearby.
"Alright," Yang Tao nodded. A sword light enveloped Chen Feng and Li Xinyue, lifting them into the air. In the blink of an eye, they soared a thousand meters into the sky, disappearing from the sight of the crowd as they headed back to Juejian Peak.
