Chapter 633: Dimensional Door

"Brother! Brother! What is it?" Valerian merrily ran circles around Adam as the two descended the stairs, heading towards the latter's underground laboratory.

"Be patient, you brat!" Adam reprimanded lightly.

"Aw, fine..." Valerian's ears drooped a little.

Seeing this Adam chuckled, "But I assure you, you'll love it."

"Really?!" The young dragon started jumping in joy. "Okay, let's go!"

They descended a spiral staircase of polished marble and arrived at the basement. To others, this small storage room would appear to be nothing special. However, Adam had hidden the entrance to his laboratory behind an unassuming wall.

He walked toward the brick wall as he weaved a series of hand seals. Then, he pressed his palm against it. A ripple of mana spread outward, touching every corner of the wall.

A faint rumbling sound echoed in the basement, followed by the wall slowly separating into two, revealing a secret passageway that led to Adam's laboratory.

The youth's personal laboratory was divided into distinct areas, each serving a specific purpose.

One area was used as his herbalism workshop. Along the wall on that side stood a long table cluttered with all sorts of apparatuses used in potion concoctions.

The shelves above the workstation held jars of colorful powders, preserved herbs, and vials of sparkling liquids, each meticulously labeled. At the center of it all was a large cauldron which Adam had paid a great amount of gold to purchase. This was also where he brewed wine.

The center of the underground laboratory was dominated by his rune-crafting station. Scattered around it were thick tomes on rune magic that Adam had acquired from the Brotherhood.

At the far end of the room, rows of locked cabinets were reinforced through various spells. These served as storage vaults where the youth kept some valuable belongings.

Directly adjacent to it was a small research library. Wooden shelves filled with books and scrolls lined that wall, organized by subject: herbalism, summoning, illusion, invocation, and runes.

The air quality was perfect despite the laboratory being underground. Adam had made sure to implement several complex spells that regulated the airflow.

Adam looked around the place and thought out loud, "Hmm, where should I place the teleportation door?"

The circular disk that Saratoga had given him before vanishing had a spell model of the Rank 4 Spell: Dimensional Door inscribed on it.

But considering how far the teleportation distance truly was, Adam suspected that the disk had been reinforced by layers of runes.

"This is undoubtedly the most secure place in my manor," Adam mumbled, "and considering that I'm going to expand this place after buying the surrounding properties..."

His gaze fell on the wine cellar in the corner of the laboratory, causing his eyes to light up. "Hehe, no one will expect the cellar to have a teleportation circle."

"Come, Val, follow me," he said as he walked into the cellar.

The area was lined with four wooden rows were several barrels full of wine were placed. He walked toward the end of the cellar and knocked on the ground a couple of times.

"Hmm, this should do."

He then took out the circular disk from within his robes, then, with eyes filled with anticipation, he injected mana into it and pressed it on the ground.

RUMBLE!

The entire underground room trembled ever so slightly. The runes inscribed upon the disk merged with the ground, forming a large circle. Following that, the disk turned to ashes.

After the runes had merged with the ground, they glowed with a blinding light for a few moments before everything returned to normal.

"Brother, what was that?!" Valerian panicked. He could feel a powerful burst of mana radiating from the disk. He had never felt such powerful energy before.@@novelbin@@

"Haha," Adam laughed nervously. "The power of a Mana Core Magus is truly something else." He then glanced at his familiar and grinned. "Val, come here."

"Myu!" The young dragon jumped into his arms.

The very next moment, Adam released mana into the ground. A brilliant light flashed, following which, the two disappeared from the spot!

...

A similar light flashed the very next second inside the enormous treasure vault, and Adam and Valerian appeared standing atop a mountain of gold coins.

The youth looked around the vault from the high vantage point and his heart skipped a beat. "This is truly... a lot of money."

He could feel Valerian's fat and furry body tremble in his arms. He lowered his head and saw the young dragon looking around in absolute shock while gasping for air.

"Hahaha!" Adam burst into laughter. "Say, Val, what do you think?"

"Brother..." Valerian glanced at Adam with teary eyes. He pressed his paws against the youth's cheeks and asked with a shaky voice. "Is this... is this all ours?"

"You're damn right it is!" Adam grinned.

Pearls of tears fell down Valerian's furry face. "Brother... is this really ours? Are we... are we rich?"

"We're filthy rich! Kahahaha!" Adam couldn't contain the excitement any longer and laughed out loud.

"Myu!!" Valerian jumped away from the youth and started running around the vault eagerly. "Myu! Myu! Myu!!!"

Seeing his dear familiar act so animatedly, Adam couldn't help but laugh louder. He fell back and lay down atop the mountain of gold. He gazed at the arched ceiling that was reflecting the gold all around and couldn't help but deeply sigh.

"Who would have thought that a farmer's son like me would come to acquire such an

enormous amount of wealth?"

With the amount of treasure inside this gigantic vault, Adam believed that he would never have to worry about money for as long as he stayed on this planet.

Of course, that was only valid if he didn't spend recklessly-no, even then it would be very difficult to burn through all the money in the vault.

Saratoga had truly made his deepest wish come true!

He sat back up and looked around with a satisfied smile on his face. Perhaps the only way I can spend all this money is if I decide to build a Magus Tower in the future...

Then he shook his head. But that's not possible. The tower would require a large-scale mana- gathering formation which would suck the mana from the surroundings and contain it within the

tower. But that's just one problem.

Haa, there are too many restrictions for building a Magus Tower. It's something that cannot be built with just money. No wonder, I haven't heard of any reputable Magus here having one.

Adam slid down the mountain of gold and landed on the floor. Then, he casually strolled

around the vault, whistiling a merry tune.

"Now, let's see if I can find something nice in here."
