Liao De looked at the mer who was clutching his arm tightly and turned to look at Yu Dong and the rest of the family before saying, "Can we not bathe? I am fine but he is yet to overcome his fear. When we were locked up in the shack the women of that village would throw water on us until our clothes were soaked."

Though Liao De did not say it explicitly, everyone understood why the women soaked these two mers with water. Even though they were too young to be taken to bed, those women who were feeding and giving them a place to stay must have thought that it was only right if they took a bit of advantage of these two mers.

Liao De stiffened when he heard that they could not stay next to the two babies. He turned to look at the good-looking boys and his heart moved a little before he turned to look at Feng Liang.

"L…Let’s go and take a bath. If we don’t then we cannot play with little brothers," said Liao De.

"Yes, don’t be afraid," said Ye Liu as he walked over to the two kids. "Let us take a bath. Once you are clean and fragrant, you can play with the little brothers. You also want to wash off the dust and grime right?"

"Let us wash the dirt and start anew," chimed Shen Li as he clapped his hands and smiled at two mers with a sweet voice, he said, "Uncle has a nice fragrant soap that makes bubbles, do you want to play with bubbles?"

"I...I want to wash with them," Feng Liang agreed but he also put forth a request as he pointed to the two little boys who were crawling on the floor. The two babies were really cute and being next to them made Feng Liang feel really calm.

"We cannot do that, the babies are still young and they cannot bathe in the bathing tub," Shen Li said as he coaxed the little mer. "They only need a little wipe and nothing else."

"Why?"

"Because it’s dangerous," Shen Li said to the mers. "The little brothers can drown in the bathing tub."

Feng Liang looked at the two babies who smiled at him. His gaze was fixated on Ah Feng whose toothless smile was really radiant while Liao De looked at Dou Dou whose tearful smile was both encouraging and aggrieved.

Seeing that the two were looking at her sons, Yu Dong chuckled. Of course, no one could resist the charms of her son, they were not only good-looking but were also very sweet and loving children.

She immediately threw in a bait and said, "If you take a bath then you can hug the two brothers."

The two mers looked at one another upon hearing Yu Dong’s words. They stayed quiet for a while before jumping down the couch and raising their arms in front of Ye Liu and Shen Li.

"Take us to the bath."

They wanted to play with the little brothers!

Once they were gone the door of the house burst open and a rather angry Xiao Hua came inside the house.

Seeing his face scrunch like this, Yu Dong felt her heart jump.

"What’s wrong?" Yu Dong asked. Did something happen at the mer bar?

"It’s nothing," Xiao Hua walked over to where Yu Dong was standing and hugged her around the waist. "When are you going to marry me?" His outburst was so loud that even Fang Chi raised his head and looked at Xiao Hua much less Chen Mi who was beside Yu Dong.
