Harem Streamer System: Every Crime I Broadcast Wins Me a Superheroine

Chapter 176: Chain-Like Emotions

Metro City – South District

Scott's body was frozen.

Not by time, not by some external force ── no, by pure, incomprehensible shock.

His brain refused to process the image before him.

Lady Fortress' body was limp — now, she was just a lifeless shell with a bloody gaping hole in her chest.

Her blood pooled beneath her and soaked the cracked pavement as it spread in tendrils. The way she fell — it wasn't like a wounded warrior struggling for breath.

No, it was final. Unmoving.

Dead.

Scott couldn't breathe.

He barely registered the voice speaking.

Mega Man chuckled, shaking his head.

"You know… I didn't even have business with the cute, young lady."

His tone was casual, light, like he was discussing some boring game from the other night.

"My only — and I repeat — ONLY concern was with you… the disappointment bearing my son's name and face. But she thought it'd be a good idea to get in my way."

His lips curled into an amused smirk.

"That's not very smart of her, is it?"

The man couldn't stop smiling.

"You know, women aren't exactly the sharpest tools in the shed. They do something stupid, and when you call them out on it, they somehow make you feel like the idiot. My boy wasn't the type to put up with that nonsense — when Martha tried pulling that on him, oh man, you should've seen it."

He looked so thrilled talking about it—in fact, there was a clear excitement in his eyes, almost like he was turned on just by looking at or even thinking about the half-dead corpse of his wife, Martha McQueen.

"The way he drove that spear right through her empty skull… absolutely satisfying. The way he killed his own mother, the way he sees women as nothing more than tools for pleasure and vessels to carry his bloodline—it all just proves to me that he's truly my son. And as his father, I couldn't be prouder."

Scott barely heard him.

His ears were ringing. His heart pounded so loudly it was all he could hear. The rubble around him pressed against his broken body, but none of it hurt as much as the sight of Fortress lying there.

Mega Man sighed and crouched beside her.

His bloodied hand reached out, pressing against her face.

Then, slowly, deliberately, he wiped the thick, dripping blood from his fingers onto her skin, her super suit—her lifeless body, as if she were nothing more than a filthy, torn rag to clean himself with.

Scott's breath hitched.

"She's such a mess…"

Mega Man mused, dragging his fingers down her cheek to smear the blood across her lifeless eyes.

"Ah, but I simply can't wait for time to resume… that version of my son—"

He glanced at Scott, smiling.

"—is sure to have such a lovely reaction. He's such an emotion-driven fool, don't you think?"

Scott's fingers twitched.

His nails dug into the dirt beneath him.

Mega Man chuckled again.

"He wasn't raised with the focus and dedication to surpass everything. No, you were shackled by emotions, by bonds, by all those disgusting little chemicals in your brain that trick you into loving a woman."

He scoffed, then wiped the last of the blood off on Fortress' body. Then, satisfied, he stood up, clasping his hands behind his back like a teacher who had just finished a lesson.

Scott's teeth gritted.

His bones were broken. His body was shattered.

Every nerve in him screamed to stay down.

But he couldn't. He wouldn't!

With a slow, agonizing effort, he shifted.

The rubble that buried him rolled away as he forced himself up. His legs barely held him, trembling like glass about to shatter. Every inch of him was screaming in agony, his lungs burning, his ribs fractured beyond recognition.

But none of it mattered.

"… You," Scott rasped with a dead voice.

Mega Man raised an eyebrow and just watched as Scott forced himself upright. His expression quivered with brief surprise before he masked it with his usual calm smile.

"Wow…"

He mused, tilting his head.

"You can move in stopped time?"

He let out a short, impressed laugh.

"That's absolutely ravishing. Even the stars, the planets, all things beyond a god's authority stop when I command time to halt. And yet…"

He gestured toward Scott.

"You, with broken limbs, a broken body, a broken soul… still manage to stand."

Mega Man clapped once.

A sharp, deafening boom spread through the air.

"… Truly, I'm amazed. Perhaps… even excited."

His lips twisted into something darker.

"Even my unruly son couldn't break out of my hold. And yet you, in all your averageness, somehow manage."

Scott ignored him.

His right arm trembled as he reached to his side.

The blue technophage surged and coated his arm with the Anti-Disaster Suit in an instant.

The System immediately relayed data to him:

[⚠️ WARNING: The blue technophage is undergoing recovery. Due to the attacks sustained from Mega Man, 60% of defense mechanisms are down, 40% of attack power has been lowered, and 30% of speed modulators and agility control interfaces have been lost.]

Scott's stomach sank.

"… Tch."

His breath came out ragged.

Two attacks.

That's all it had taken.

Just two. And he was already in worse condition than after his fight with Red.

『This is crazy… I can't beat this guy. I'll die.』

His vision blurred. His body begged him to collapse.

Mega Man sighed, watching him struggle.

"Are you still planning to fight or—"

He never got to finish the sentence.

In an instant, Scott moved.

A blitz.

A spear tackle that shook all of Metro City.

Scott's shoulder slammed into Mega Man's stomach with the force of a meteor, sending a sickening crack through his own body as his fractured bones shattered even further.

But he didn't stop.

With a roar, he drove Mega Man forward as their bodies crashed through buildings like tissue paper.

Concrete, steel, glass—none of it mattered.

BOOM! BOOOOM!! BOOOOOOM!!!

Buildings collapsed in their wake, reduced to rubble.

Cars were sent flying like toys, streetlights twisted and snapped like twigs.

Scott's throat burned as he screamed—

"YOU BASTARD! I'LL KILL YOU!!"

His speed surged — his rage fueling his movement — until he spotted a gas station ahead.

Without hesitation, he forced Mega Man into a beeline straight for it.

And then—

BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

The explosion ripped through the entire South District.

A towering inferno erupted and consumed everything in a massive, earth-shaking detonation.

Buildings were obliterated.

Windows from miles away shattered.

The very sky was momentarily blotted out by the sheer scale of the explosion.

But the people? The only saving grace was the common sense of Metro City's citizens. The moment Mega Man arrived, everyone had already run for their lives.

The city stood in flames. The streets were reduced to ruin.

And in the center of it all, amidst the raging fire and crumbling destruction—

Scott stood, panting.

His body screamed. His vision swam. His very soul felt like it was on the brink of collapse.

But his rage?

Still felt like a thousand spartan soldiers.

Scott planted his foot firmly on a broken slab of concrete, his breath ragged as his chest heaved like a machine running on its last drops of fuel. Blood dripped from his nostrils, mingling with the ash and smoke that clouded the burning ruins around him. His half-scorched face was red and bleeding, but he barely noticed it.

"Huff… Huff…"

His eyes were fixed on the pile of rubble and twisted steel where Mega Man should have been buried. His fingers curled into trembling fists and his entire body screamed at him to just stop.

But he wouldn't. Not after what Mega Man had done.

His voice was raw, cracked.

"Son of a bitch… You really thought you'd just walk away from this? After killing Fortress?"

His lips twisted into something between a smirk and a grimace as he panted.

"I hope you're having fun now… this is what you wanted, right?! RIGHT──?!"

The flames didn't answer. They just burned, flickering wildly as they reflected the fury in Scott's bloodshot eyes.

His armor was barely even armor anymore—jagged, broken pieces hung off him, exposing bruised and bloodied skin. His so-called "indestructible" cape was now nothing more than a collection of tattered scraps barely clinging to his shoulders.

His whole body ached, his ribs felt shattered, his lungs burned with every breath.

But it didn't matter.

Not as long as he could still stand.

Then, without warning—

THWACK!

A massive, charred hand shot out of the fire and grabbed Scott's head like a doll.

Pain exploded through his skull as the grip tightened. His bones creaked, cracks forming along his forehead. Scott barely had time to scream before a voice, cold and heavy with amusement, rumbled through the chaos.

"Did you really think a little firework show would kill me?"

Mega Man stepped out of the flames, completely unharmed as his cold gaze locked onto Scott's mangled body. His voice was smooth, condescending — like a teacher scolding a particularly slow student.

"How funny… I thought maybe this version of you would have a brain, since you clearly don't have the power to back up that arrogance. But…"

He lifted Scott higher, letting him dangle for a moment.

"… YOU'RE JUST AS DUMB AS YOU ARE WEAK!!"

Then—BOOM!

Mega Man slammed his fist straight into Scott's face.

Scott's vision blurred.

His ears rang.

His body rocketed through the city like a bullet and crashed through buildings, shattering glass, leaving behind a trail of dust and blood.

Before he could even land, another punch came.

CRACK!

Scott's skull fractured further.

His head snapped back violently.

His body spun uncontrollably through the air. Then—

BANG!

Mega Man appeared beside him in an instant, driving another fist into Scott's ribs. Something inside him crunched. Scott coughed up blood, his body twisting midair.

Then another punch.

And another.

And another.

Shockwaves tore through the sky.

Buildings trembled. The earth itself seemed to groan under the sheer force of the onslaught.

Scott couldn't even scream anymore.

His lips moved, but all that came out was blood.

His teeth were shattered.

His face was barely recognizable—swollen, broken, his left cheek completely split open, exposing the glistening white of his jawbone.

Mega Man's voice cut through the storm of destruction.

"You really don't get it, do you?"

A heavy fist slammed into Scott's gut.

"You're not some kind of main character."

Another punch, even harder.

"You're not special."

A brutal backhand sent Scott spiraling downward.

"You're a worthless, powerless fool!"

Mega Man shot downward, slamming both fists into Scott's stomach with enough force to cause a shockwave that blasted apart everything within a mile radius. Scott's eyes bulged and his throat spasmed as more blood burst from his mouth.

He was sent flying, crashing through a massive high-rise, then another, then another. Each impact shattered more bones, tore through more flesh, reduced him to a barely conscious wreck.

Then, as if fate itself had decided to mock him, his entire body stopped — impaled halfway through a building.

Massive steel rods had torn through his chest, stomach, and joints, skewering him in place like some grotesque, lifeless decoration.

His limbs hung limp.

Blood poured freely from his wounds, pooling beneath him like a crimson rain.

He was done.

Or at least, he should've been.

Instead, Scott forced his mouth open, his voice barely a whisper.

"… Uooohhh… that… hurt…"

It wasn't even a joke.

Just a miserable, pathetic observation.

Mega Man landed in front of him, then cracked his knuckles as he looked more irritated than amused now.

"God, just looking at you pisses me off."

He flexed his fingers, eyes full of cruel anticipation.

"And the fact that my son — a version of you — is supposed to be the 'just another' Scott? It's disgusting. There's nothing special about you. You're weak. Worthless. Why would the universe choose you to be its prime timeline Mael?! It just pisses me off! I'll keep breaking you, over and over again, until your pathetic human brain finally understands that reality doesn't give a shit about you."

He pulled his fist back.

It shimmered with cosmic energy.

This was it.

The finishing blow.

Scott barely had the strength to move, let alone dodge.

He could only watch, wide-eyed, as Mega Man's fist came barreling towards him—

—Until a searing blast of plasma energy struck Mega Man from the side, sending him crashing through a nearby building.

Scott barely managed to turn his head as his blurred vision settled on the silhouette of a man standing atop a pile of rubble.

A high-tech suit of silver-white and dark armor gleamed in the firelight, slightly bulky, radiating raw power. A bright green core pulsed at the center of his chest plate.

It was Isaac Volkner — Xenon.

Scott let out a weak, painful chuckle as his lips twitched into a half-smile.

"…'bout time…"

Mega Man burst from the ruined building as flames licked at the edges of the crumbling walls behind him.

He stabilized himself midair as he surveyed the battlefield below.

And then, there he was. Xenon.

Mega Man's lips curled into a smirk as he wiped away the thin trail of blood running down the side of his head.

"Well, I'll be damned…"

He sounded so amused… so excited.

"The useless son of the Volkners finally grew a pair."

He let out a quiet chuckle, shaking his head.

"It's quite amazing… I never thought you'd actually have the guts to face me, Isaac."

His gaze scanned Xenon's armor from top to bottom.

Next, he scoffed.

"And somehow… ohohoho, somehow you managed to build something this advanced? I gotta admit, you really outdid himself this time, boy."

He rolled his shoulder as the aches of battle settled in.

"Tch. A shame he's dead."

Then, with a slow exhale, his smirk widened.

"But still…"

He looked down at the blood on his fingertips before flicking it away.

"Even with all that effort, both from Isaac and your dear, departed parents… I can't understand how this is the best you could come up with?"

He gestured lazily toward Xenon's suit, unimpressed.

"What, all that genius, all that drive, and you're just wearing a suit that spits out slightly hotter flames?"

He chuckled as his expression darkened.

"Disgraceful."

Lowering himself to the ground, his boots landed with a heavy thud.

Xenon stood still as his breathing steadied and his hands clenched into fists at his sides. Through his HUD, he locked eyes with Mega Man before his gaze shifted to the battered figure hanging in the distance — Scott.

A slow exhale left Xenon's lips.

"As much as I know you're not him, Scott… I can't lie. It feels damn good to watch someone with that face get pummeled into the dirt."

His voice was calm, but beneath it, there was what felt like unresolved emotions laying there.

"The fact that you're still breathing right now is a miracle."

He paused, then added in a quieter tone.

"You're just lucky Emma managed to convince me. If not, I don't think I'd have helped you…"

His fingers twitched slightly as his mind drifted to her.

"Somehow… she knew. Just from looking into your eyes, she could tell you weren't the same Scott."

His fists clenched tighter.

"And yet…"

A dry, bitter chuckle escaped him.

"You know, I spent all this time trying to take care of her. Making sure she was happy. Showing her love in every way possible, hoping maybe—maybe—she'd love me back."

His voice grew distant, as if he were speaking more to himself now than anyone else.

"But that was always unlikely, wasn't it?"

He lowered his head slightly, a shadow crossing his face.

"And yet somehow, somehow, she looks into your eyes—the eyes of the man who tore her spine out—and says she felt loved."

His jaw tightened.

He took a deep breath to calm himself.

"I always knew… I always knew I'd never have Emma for myself."

His voice softened, carrying what dwindled between regret and resignation.

"But it still hurts… that I never once looked at her in a way that made her feel loved."

His grip loosened as his shoulders dropped slightly.

"And yet you, Scott… somehow, you managed to say everything I wanted to say, make her feel everything I wanted her to feel… without even speaking."

A heavy sigh left his lips.

Scott stirred, his beaten body barely able to move.

He wanted to say something. Anything.

But nothing came out.

『I wonder if… that's how Isaac from my world feels… I know this isn't my world… their feelings and conditions shouldn't matter to me, but at the same time I can't help but just feel that way, you know? It's weird…』

Then—

A loud, exaggerated yawn shattered the tension.

Mega Man stretched his arms above his head and gently rolled his neck.

"Goddamn, are we seriously doing this?"

His voice dripped with irritation.

"Can we skip the whole love drama part? 'Cause I swear, my entire being is aching to beat the ever-loving shit out of the both of you."

His smirk returned, but this time, it was far more menacing.

"So… how about we get to the fun part already?"

Xenon slowly lifted his head.

He locked eyes with Mega Man.

The regret, the sorrow—it didn't matter anymore.

All that mattered now… was finishing this.
