Healing System

Chapter 263 Revision

[Michael's POV]

What did I just see? he thought in wonder, holding his hurting head.

In mere moments, the events of what had supposedly happened to Mikhail played out in his mind, and they were much different from what he was initially expecting.

God was murdered by someone, and Mikhail had become a candidate for god.

Then how did he end up as a system? Helping Michael around for the last 10 years?

It seemed a bit unreal, but these memories were definitely real, coupled with the billions of other memories he received in an instant.

Thankfully, instead of rejecting them, his mind neatly sorted them out into individual folders, as though a computer.

And the memory he had just seen was the one that was highlighted.

Is this what the system meant back then when it said it would disappear? Michael pondered before shaking his head. There's no way, right?

The memories of his first trial came into play, but this time, he had a full picture of them—ranging from how that particular Michael lived all the way to how he died.

That went for the second trial as well, and the Halls of Reflection too—all of those memories were his now.

But what was most important for Michael was his current strength. The memories? He could deal with them later.

After all, he did sign away his freedom in exchange for power, and he'd be sitting by for a whole year inside here.

Nonetheless, calming down and standing up—albeit with difficulty—he took a few glances around and froze.

The mana formation that had been present a few moments ago seemed to have scattered, but in return, all that lost mana was heading toward him instead, further reinforcing his body.

Michael took a glance at his own mana core and, yet again, was left speechless.

There were no threads anymore. Instead, a single, completely white marble was placed in the middle of his solar plexus, with his Flow core now completely gone.

The new mana core kept exuding mana with each breath he took, but at the same time, it also sped up the rate at which it absorbed the excess mana from the surroundings.

All in all, his strength at this moment was like night and day compared to what it had been just a few moments prior.

Michael turned to the side when, all of a sudden, a small fissure formed—just enough for a single being to squeeze through.

And one did—Pardoth. "I've come to check up on yo—!" He halted, taking shocked glances around until eventually, his gaze landed on Michael. "What did you do? Do you know how fucked I will be because of you now?"

"Apologies, it was an honest mistake," Michael replied, his voice slightly deeper.

However, the long golden hair was slightly bothering him, so he cut it off, leaving it at shoulder length.

That was when Pardoth finally took notice of Michael's strength, appearing before him.

But Michael was able to clearly see it, as the speed was frankly nothing impressive.

"Hmm?" Pardoth raised his brow in confusion. "You were able to see my movements?"

"Were you trying to go fast?" Michael shot back, making Pardoth let out a laugh.

"Hahaha! Yes, it seems like you have gotten some sort of boost in strength, but..." Pardoth narrowed his eyes before once again widening them. "I can't feel your mana core?"

I wonder why. Michael rolled his eyes.

It would be strange for anyone other than the angels and Seraphims to see the white mana core.

After all, it was the same one that god apparently had, and now it was firmly placed inside Michael, making him stronger by the second.

However, he was not very confident in taking Pardoth on, since just a few hours ago, he had seemed like an unbeatable opponent, and now, being able to see his moves was a bit off-putting.

But a Tier 16 like Pardoth was definitely not someone Michael could joke around with just yet.

"Anyways, is there a problem? Why would you check in on me?" Michael asked, feigning ignorance.

"Why wouldn't I? It's been a day," Pardoth said before pointing to the side. "But it seems like you have messed up the area for my side of the agreement, and I want you to know—I am not giving you another one. This one will already cost me a limb to replace."

"It's fine. I don't think it will be of much use anyway," Michael replied with a shrug before putting on a serious expression. "So where's the Eldritch being you want me to make a body for?"

"In light of your newfound strength, I won't make you pay for the damages," Pardoth grumbled before taking an eye out of his pocket. "Here he is. I call him William, but he's just an idiot. I wonder if making a body for him would even change anything."

"...Why him? Aren't there better candidates?" Michael asked.

But Pardoth merely shook his head. "I have 365 bodies ready in no particular order. This one just happened to be the first one I picked out." He narrowed his eyes. "And I'll have you know that despite him being an idiot, his strength more than makes up for it."

A strong idiot... Fantastic. Michael sighed before approaching the eye and whisking a small amount of mana toward it.@@novelbin@@

However, it turned out to not be so small, as Michael had heavily underestimated himself. Instead, he sent out a giant wave of mana, encompassing the eye and blinding Pardoth.

It did not take even a moment for a body to construct, and frankly, it did not resemble Michael in the slightest. Instead, it took the form of some burly, bald man with two now-green hollow eyes.

That hollowness soon disappeared as the man blinked a few times—until eventually, he toppled over, falling onto his back.

"Did you kill him?" Pardoth asked, sending a weak kick right at the body's side.

"...I don't think so?" Michael replied, unsure himself.

However, they soon found out, as the eye occupying the body opened its mouth and spoke.

"I don't know how to walk."

"No shit..." Pardoth let out a loud laugh that sent reverberations across the entire space.

Nonetheless, Michael stretched out his mana again and reconnected with the body, making walking an instinctual feeling—which the eye immediately seemed to grasp.

"Oh," the eye—William—said before stretching out his hand and sending a punch directly at Michael.

However, since it was incredibly slow, Michael merely tilted his head, dodging it.

Yet what he wasn't expecting was for the space behind him to shatter, forming a massive fissure.

"Woah, what the—" Pardoth's surprised voice rang out as he suddenly let out a green misty mana, patching up the fissure before it could expand further.

Then, he turned toward Michael, shock visible on his face. "What did you do to him? Why is he... you know... so strong now?"

"Beats me. I guess my technique improved," Michael shrugged it off.

However, deep down, his excitement was immeasurable.

After all, he had just managed to create something like that from an absolute idiot.

Albeit, that idiot was strong already, but by Michael's estimations, William went from what looked like a Tier 7 to a Tier 14 in an instant.

Of course, it likely had something to do with god's mana core, as, after all, it was much different from everyone else's.

It seemed to have absorbed 80% of the mana Pardoth had used to close up the fissure, and in turn, Michael had grown that much stronger.

But even then, it was all still new to him. Not long ago, he was still a Tier 3, and now, he couldn't even accurately estimate his own mana core's stage.

However, if he were to guess, it was anywhere from Tier 13 all the way up to Tier 16.

A massive leap—but if he could get used to this strength, he could push forward to higher worlds and finally figure out the truth behind what he had seen earlier.

Of course, there were still people he wanted to visit, such as Astraea—and, of course, Rebecca.

As for his friends he barely even knew? He might drop by. After all, Kevin was a big key to entering Hell.

If anything, he could serve as a guide.

After making up his mind, Michael glanced toward Pardoth, who was now sparring with William, before saying, "Pardoth, I believe we should revise the contract, don't you think?"

"What? We can't," Pardoth replied. "You need consent from both parties to alter it."

"Of course." Michael nodded. "That's why I want better quarters. In exchange, I'll make you twice as many bodies."

Pardoth's eyes widened in surprise as he suddenly smacked William, sending him flying into the void.

"I see you're a valid person to contract with, Michael," Pardoth said, a grin forming on his face. "Do you have quarters in mind? The inner eld—"

"The core of the Eldritch realm, perhaps," Michael interjected with a shrug, making Pardoth send a glare toward him.

"You know I can't enter that place freely myself."

However, Michael seemed unamused, walking up to Pardoth and staring him straight in the eyes.

"If you want this deal to go through, I suggest you figure it out."

"..." Pardoth glared back without saying anything before letting out a sigh.

As he did, another contract appeared, floating over to Michael.

"You're unreasonable. But I can't deny such modesty."

"Of course." Michael let out a chuckle before taking a glance at the contract.
