Healing System

Chapter 300: Inverted

"You know..." Michael trailed off, letting out a sigh. "This is not what I had in mind when I asked for training."

Currently, he was sitting on the beach, with Lila sitting beside him.

Her body was riddled with many scars, but her figure was definitely no joke.

But for what he was doing right now?

I'm just wasting time, but I guess it's better to make her let her guard down... Michael pondered with a sigh as he stretched outward.

However, he accidentally met her foot, which was equally as stretched out.

"Sorry about that..." Michael apologized, not breaking her out of whatever she was doing.

Eyes closed, looking like a monk in meditation.

She wasn't even replying to him anymore.

What a strange woman. Too bad she's an evil bitch, Michael thought.

[Evil bitch or not, you managed to save Rebecca, so maybe it's possible to do the same with her?] the system commented. [Or do you think she's not worth it?]

I don't know anything about her, except for the potential chance that she might've killed her own sister to get power, Michael replied with a shrug. Besides her beautiful figure, I doubt we'd get along well.

[You will find out whether or not the two of you can get along after you finish your training. After all, you're the one who accepted her offer despite knowing the risks,] the system stated with a chuckle. [Good luck with that though, I'm not helping you.]

I don't expect you to, Michael rolled his eyes as he decided to scoot closer to Lila.

She still didn't react, so he decided to touch her cheek—even pinch it.

But still... Nothing.

I wonder what Celeste and the other girls are up to? Michael pondered before letting out a chuckle. They're probably at the beauty salon. They did get an unlimited allowance, after all.

Nonetheless, he kept poking her side, trying to incite a reaction.

Finally, the moment his hands grabbed the side of her waist, she flinched, her eyes shooting open.

"W-What do you think you're doing?" Lila asked, startled.

She's sensitive as hell, Michael noted down before flashing a grin. "I thought you said we'd be training, so why exactly are we on the beach again?"

"We are training," Lila clarified.

"The only thing I'm training are my eyes." He looked her up and down. "It's not bad training, I guess—we can continue."

Lila let out a sigh as she readjusted her bra. "Look, the main thing about being an angel is to have zero impurities. The less impurities you have, the more powerful you can get. Also, it affects your potential, so it's worth noting."

Michael recalled and remembered the fact that his body was practically 100% purity, which meant this training didn't mean much.

Nonetheless, staring at her half-naked body definitely was some good eye candy, even if he didn't learn much.

"Wait..." Lila trailed off, her eyes narrowing as she suddenly placed her warm, yet callus-riddled hand on his chest—right over his heart.

In the next moment, her eyes widened.

"You don't have any impurities!? How is that possible?" Lila exclaimed, shocked. "Wait... You don't happen to be the descendant of some high-ranking angel, right? Or maybe even an Archangel..."

"I'm just Michael," he replied with a shrug. "I don't really have any affiliations, and I don't know why I have no impurities either—I guess I'm just special."

[Very special,] the system snickered from the side before falling silent again.

"I see... Well, then training you like this won't do much..." Lila said, standing up.

However, the moment she stood up, her bra came undone, revealing the jugs Michael could have only imagined.

But they were only out for a moment, as she immediately covered her breasts with her hands and flashed him a startled look.

"D-Did you see?"

"See? Nope, I didn't see your breasts, or the fact your nipples are inverted."

"..." Lila stared at him in silence as her face flushed red.

Nonetheless, she calmed down, put her clothes back on, and signaled him to follow.

Michael chuckled inwardly at her behavior before making his way after her.

He didn't have many clothes to begin with, as he normally just summoned them with his mana.

As for Lila, she put on the same bloody clothes from earlier.

Because of that, he got an idea...

Since he had a rough estimate of her size, Michael soon created a bodysuit that mimicked the one she was wearing, with the only exception being the color gold and black.

"Here," Michael tapped her on the shoulder, making her flinch.

Yet as Lila turned around, a surprised expression appeared on her face as she accepted the bodysuit and swiftly put it on.

She didn't even care if he saw anything anymore—which was a plus on his end.

Nonetheless, she finally slipped into the bodysuit, and safe to say—she looked amazing.

And from the wide smile on her face, he knew she felt the same.

"Okay... I forgive you for earlier," Lila said with a smile. "These clothes are very comfortable..."

"Yep, no problem. I'm always open to being flashed by women," Michael replied confidently, and with an exhausted sigh, Lila suddenly summoned her white wings and flew off the ground.

He did the same, but he noticed something a bit interesting.

Lila was moving much faster than before, to the point where he had to use everything he had just so he could keep up with her.

But it was fine, since after just a few seconds, they finally arrived at their next destination—which just so happened to be a demon hideout.

Below, there were multiple demons, ranging from Tier 1 all the way to Tier 5.

He could obviously handle them all, and Lila likely knew that.

"What's up?" Michael asked, noticing her stern gaze.

"I want you to practice killing them without making a sound," Lila stated.

"Without making a sound? What's the point?" Michael tilted his head. "If I can kill everyone by making a loud noise, then what's the problem?"

"No..." Lila shook her head. "I'm sure you noticed, but some demons are connected to their masters. So if they die, their masters get alerted."

Ah, just like what happened earlier... I see. Michael nodded, listening along.

"Basically, you need to isolate the master's presence from the demonic cores, and if you can do that, then you'd be able to kill the demons without their masters even noticing their disappearance."

"But how does that work? Won't they feel the connection disappear?" Michael asked, puzzled.

"They feel the connection disappear if you don't sever the presence. However, if you do sever the presence, the masters won't even realize there was a connection in the first place. That's, of course, if they're not paying attention to their servants—which oftentimes is the case," Lila replied.

"So if they are..."

"Yes, if they're paying attention, then it's just wasted effort," Lila added with a shrug.

She slightly played around with the clothes, stretching them out—which in turn made her figure that much more alluring.

However, from the faint grin on her face, Michael knew it was intentional.

"It's a little reward for the clothes," Lila said with a giggle, as she pointed toward the demons. "Now go find one, remove the presence, and kill the demon. Simple."

Michael glanced at her body one last time before finally making his way down.

There were definitely a lot of demons, but only those Tier 4 and above had some connections.

After all, the way to recognize a connection was by simply focusing on the demon's mana core.

And if there was another piece of demonic mana other than the demon's, then that meant the connection Lila mentioned existed.

After a few seconds of searching, Michael finally spotted one such demon.

Therefore, he glided down, isolated the demon with a light-refracting dome, and isolated all the sound inside.

"Hmm? Gertrat, what did you do?" the demon asked, yet froze as he noticed Michael's presence behind him.

Turning around, the demon's eyes widened.

Yet before the demon could do anything, Michael's hand shot forward into the demon's abdomen and pulled out a single demonic mana core.

It was black and disgusting-looking.

Nonetheless, his objective was simple.

Find the presence, remove it, kill the demon.

Michael focused hard, and after just a few moments, he realized there was a small presence inside the mana core.

However, he didn't even know how to begin removing it. Therefore, he decided to simply overwhelm it with his mana.

But to his surprise, as he began injecting the demonic core with his light affinity mana, it lit up in a golden light before cracks suddenly began forming.

Michael was startled as he opened the dome and chucked the demonic core right out.

In the next instant, a loud explosion rang out.

—BOOOOOM!

It was loud, and it nearly busted his eardrums.

But despite that, he realized this was going to be a bit more fun than he imagined.

A grin appeared on his face as he isolated another demon.

I could just glance into my memories for the answer... But where's the fun in that?
