Heir Of The Celestial Throne & The Blooming Empress

Chapter 11: The Last Roar of the Azure Dragons

Chapter 11 - The Last Roar of the Azure Dragons

The battle had reached its crescendo. The Divine Azure Dragon and the Saint Azure Dragon, despite their formidable strength, were struggling. Their movements were slower now, their bodies bloodied and battered from the ceaseless onslaught of the Beast Taming Sect's elite squad. The shadowy figures surrounding them were no longer at full strength either—fatigued from the relentless conflict, their movements sluggish but still lethal.

Tianyang and Yuqing, standing at the edge of the misty forest, carefully observed the scene. The atmosphere was tense, thick with the stench of blood and the weight of impending doom.

Yuqing's voice was a whisper, barely audible. "We can't wait any longer, Tianyang. If we don't act now, they'll die."

Tianyang's eyes narrowed as he analyzed the situation. "We move carefully, Yuqing. We need to make sure we don't waste our energy or risk the dragons' lives further. Timing is everything."

Yuqing nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. They weren't just facing powerful beasts; they were facing an organized assault from a sect with vast resources, led by a cultivator in the low Ascendant Realm.

The dragons roared in pain, their wounds severe. Azure Flame Fury and Azure Lightning Roar rang out with fury, but the shadows countered with precision. Their weapons—Rare-grade daggers and Unique-grade swords—cut through the air, attacking from all directions.

The Saint Azure Dragon had used Heaven's Wrath earlier in an attempt to decimate the shadows, but the battle had stretched too long. Now, it was fighting a losing battle. The Divine Azure Dragon had launched its Eternal Flame Shield, but even that couldn't protect it from the shadows' relentless attacks.

The leader of the shadows, a man draped in a tattered black robe, stood at the back, barking orders. His high-legendary-grade Dark Orb floated at his side, radiating a chilling aura.

"You've done well, elders," the leader said, his voice strained but confident. "The dragons are weakened. I will tame them, make them my beasts."

Yuqing's brow furrowed as she watched him. "He's planning something... something ominous."

Tianyang's voice was grim. "He's preparing to use the Forbidden Forced Contract. If he succeeds, these dragons will be his."

Yuqing terrified clungs to tianyang's arm tightly her voice grim. "Even our clans only use normal contracts."

As Tianyang and Yuqing moved closer, the shadows' leader raised his hands high, chanting an incantation that resonated through the cave. The air grew thick with pressure as he began to use the incomplete low Divine-tier technique, a forbidden spell known as "Soul Binding of the Dragon," to summon the Forbidden Forced Contract. He then used another mid-legendary-grade artifact, the Dragon Binding Collar, to force the dragons into submission.

The Divine Azure Dragon's eyes flashed with panic, but it had no strength to resist. The Saint Azure Dragon, though more powerful, was too exhausted to interfere. The two dragons began to kneel, their heads lowered as the power of the spell took hold.

Tianyang clenched his fists. "No... we can't let this happen."

Yuqing's eyes flashed with determination. "We won't."

Tianyang signaled to Yuqing, and in a synchronized motion, they rushed forward, their bodies brimming with energy. The couple had been conserving their strength, using recovery pills and the brief respite in the shadows to restore themselves to their peak. They had to act quickly—this was their only chance.

Tianyang unsheathed his sword, Soulpiercer, its blade shimmering with Legendary-grade power. The blade pulsed with energy, vibrating in the air like it was alive. Yuqing, her own Heavenly Blade drawn, felt the surge of power coursing through her veins. The Legendary-grade aura surrounding her weapon crackled with force.

With a battle cry, Tianyang unleashed a devastating High Sky-tier technique—Heaven's Fury Strike—aimed directly at the leader of the shadows.

The leader was caught off guard. With a shout, he tried to summon his Dark Orb to deflect the attack, but the power of Tianyang's strike shattered the orb with a single blow, sending him stumbling backward. The force of the strike caused the ground beneath them to tremble.

Yuqing, not missing a beat, followed up with her own High Sky-tier technique—Ice Phoenix's Blaze—a sweeping arc of yin energy that surged through the shadows, penetrating their defenses and freezing them.

The other members of the Beast Taming Sect roared in fury, but their efforts were in vain. They were already exhausted, their Rare-grade weapons and Unique-grade artifacts failing to match the overwhelming power of Tianyang and Yuqing's attacks.

The leader of the shadows, now bloodied and battered, rose to his feet. His eyes were wild with desperation. "You foolish children! Do you know who I am?" he spat, his voice low and filled with venom.

Tianyang and Yuqing, standing side by side, locked eyes. Tianyang smirked. "We know exactly who you are; you're the one who made the mistake of using us as bait."

The leader's hand trembled as he raised his mid-legendary-grade Dragon Binding Collar again. "I am the sect master of the Beast Taming Sect! You dare to attack me? I will show you why you should never challenge us."

He roared as he attempted to activate the collar, but just as he did, Tianyang and Yuqing struck with everything they had.

Soulpiercer cut through the air like lightning, slashing the leader's arm, and Ice Phoenix's Blaze enveloped him in a second wave of yin energy. The leader screamed in pain, falling to his knees as his body was consumed by the attack.

"You... you dare..." The leader gasped, barely able to speak.

Yuqing stepped forward, her gaze cold. "We don't care who you are. You tried to enslave these dragons."

Tianyang added, "And we won't allow that."

The remaining members of the shadow faction roared in unison. "We are the elders of the Beast Taming Sect!" one of them shouted. "You will regret this!"

Tianyang and Yuqing stood their ground. But their combined power was still too much for the Couple. The once-proud sect members & elders fell, their weapons shattered, their resolve broken.

The Divine Azure Dragon and Saint Azure Dragon, noticing the shift in the battle, turned their heads toward Tianyang and Yuqing. They recognized the couple's efforts.

With their last remaining strength, the dragons unleashed a final, devastating technique—the Ancient Dragon's Fury—a low Divine-tier technique. The air crackled with energy as a massive beam of energy shot from their mouths, obliterating the remaining shadows in an instant.

As the dust settled, Tianyang and Yuqing found themselves standing in the deepest part of the cave, the smoke still lingering in the air. The dragons, though victorious, were severely weakened, their bodies covered in deep, bloody wounds. They were also lying inside the cave.

Yuqing rushed forward, kneeling beside the Divine Azure Dragon. "Are you alright?"

The dragon's eyes flickered with recognition and gratitude. With a gentle rumble, it nodded, though it was clearly struggling to remain conscious.

Tianyang approached the Saint Azure Dragon, his voice soft but filled with urgency. "You've done enough. Rest now."

The Saint Azure Dragon lowered its massive head, its energy nearly depleted. It let out a soft, almost sorrowful roar, its final help to Tianyang and Yuqing—the Ancient Dragon's Fury—having consumed nearly all of its remaining vitality.

Types of Beast Contracts

In cultivation, beast contracts are a means by which cultivators form bonds with demon beasts for assistance, protection, or companionship. These contracts vary in type and complexity, each with distinct characteristics.

1. Master-Servant Contract

• Description:

• The most common and basic type, it binds the beast to the cultivator as a subordinate.

• Features:

• The beast must obey the master's commands unconditionally.

• The master's life force is unaffected by the beast, but the beast's survival depends on the master.

• Drawbacks:

• Beasts may resist or rebel if the bond weakens or the master's strength is insufficient.

2. Mutual Bond Contract

• Description:

• A contract formed on equal terms, where both parties benefit equally.

• Features:

• Both the beast and cultivator share a portion of each other's strength, allowing energy transfer during combat or healing.

• If one dies, the other may suffer a backlash but not necessarily die.

• Advantages:

• Ideal for those who value trust and cooperation over domination.

3. Bloodline Contract

• Description:

• A high-tier contract that involves the exchange of blood essence between the beast and the cultivator.

• Features:

• The bond strengthens as the bloodlines merge, often unlocking latent abilities in both parties.

• The beast gains some intelligence or combat instincts from the cultivator.

• Limitations:

• Only works with beasts of compatible bloodlines; incompatible bloodlines may lead to rejection or death.

4. Soul Contract

• Description:

• A powerful and dangerous contract that binds the souls of the cultivator and the beast.

• Features:

• Both parties gain access to each other's soul energy and memories.

• If one's soul is damaged, the other suffers immense pain or death.

• Uses:

• Often used for high level bloodline beasts or soul-type beasts.

5. Guardian Contract

• Description:

• A unique contract where the beast becomes a guardian or protector of the cultivator's bloodline or sect.

• Features:

• The beast is bound to protect the cultivator's descendants or the sect for generations.

• Typically formed with high-tier, loyal beasts like dragons or phoenixes.

• Drawbacks:

• The beast's freedom is significantly restricted.

6. Forbidden Forced Contract

• Description:

• A one-sided contract where the beast is enslaved using techniques or artifacts.

• Features:

• Often used by sects like the Beast Taming Sect to dominate powerful beasts.

• Beasts under forced contracts rarely show loyalty and may betray the master at the first opportunity.

7. Lifebound Contract

• Description:

• A sacred and rare contract that binds the lifelines of both the beast and the cultivator.

• Features:

• Both parties grow stronger as the other does, often forming a deep emotional bond.

• The death of one results in the immediate death of the other.
