Meanwhile on the other side of the town, Elise had dragged the two old women to whatever attracted her attention. She was having fun and was happy to be able to move around freely doing whatever they wanted, satisfying her curiosity.

Samuel had always been more measured when taking her out but Eleanor pampered her more listening to all her requests. Samuel was the same but ever since she was kidnapped, he started to think more when they were outside but Eleanor believed in her people that were protecting her from the shadows.

Beside, no one would be foolish enough to do anything funny knowing who she was. She knew many people were paying attention to her movements and why she came to France, it was out of fear because of her track record.

It's been sometime since she took a detour from her usual routine. For her either she was in the States on in London visiting her daughter's family. For business, she had many generals that took care of her command, there was no need for her to move around which was why it was odd that she was here.

Even then, they wouldn't overly put surveillance on her fearing of disrespecting her. They could only look from afar and see what she was up to. Being known as the original demoness, everyone feared she was trying to make some bold move but in the end were disappointed.

No matter how tight Eleanor security was, people soon find out that she was accompanying an unknown girl throughout town obviously on sightseeing. Few thought it was her new tactic to let others' guard down but it's been few days but there were no excessive movements from her side.

The reason why they were so alarmed was because not only she was here but her husband came with her. If Eleanor was a aggressive 'player', Nathaniel was more calculative and deadly. The combination of two was fatal if they made their move but after couple of days, Nathaniel went back to States and the matter remained a mystery.

" Little girl, aren't you tired yet? You have been running around for hours!" Eleanor said with a bitter smile seeing Elise move around with huge smile on her face.

" Grandma! Let's go there first! I want to see it!" Elise said in her usual childish tone. By now she had mastered the art of acting coquettish knowing that the other party would never be able to refuse her.

" Elise, slow down. Aren't you hungry? Let's eat something first." Mathilda could see that Eleanor was tired. She was tired herself but after years of morning walk and eating healthy, her physique was much better than Eleanor which was surprising.

" But-" Seeing the stern expression on old lady's face, the little girl knew it might work on Eleanor but Mathilda wouldn't budge. She relented and said," Okay, I want to eat hamburger~"

" Fine."

Three of them walked toward a nearby store which looked clean and expensive. Mathilda took Elise to order something while Eleanor sat down and rested. She was going to take Elise with her tomorrow but if the little girl was like this everyday, she would be miserable. It made her realize that she was getting old still, it was quite fun to go around with such a curious child.

It was fulfilling too, seeing her light up when looking at most mundane things. She knew about her past and had investigated it but unfortunately, she wasn't able to find out much. Samuel obviously knew more than he let out but she didn't ask him personally as long as he could keep her safe.

Still, it was worrying to think that someone was targeting such a sweet girl. With her around, she was confident no one would dare to do anything to her. It was one of her way to keep her safe, she was trying to let whoever the other party was that she knew Elise which would act as a deterrent.

Soon, they came back with a tray off food. The old ladies didn't each much, such rich food wasn't appealing to them anymore but seeing Elise eat with relish did put a smile on their faces. It was enough to recharge their old batteries.

Elise still had energy to move around so they shouldn't hold her back. Originally, they thought that she would be sleepy in the afternoon but surprising she was having too much fun to care about other things.

Right as they were about to move to another location, a amusement park that Elise wanted to go. Eleanor's security personal took her aside to tell her something important.

There were not many people that had the ability to do so, no she couldn't think of anyone who would want to do such a thing. It was during their visit to the Chapel but she was only learning about it now because her people found out some discrepancies in their system. If they didn't notice it they wouldn't even be able to know that someone hacked their system.

" We are sure. I don't know how they were able to get in but they were in the system for couple of hours after that there was no movement from them. " No, we will continue. I am not the one to run away from trouble. If there is such a mysterious force paying attention to us than it could only mean one thing that it is related to Elise." Eleanor directly refused.

She knew her people were only trying to look after her but she wanted to put out the message that she wasn't scared. Beside, if the other party wanted to harm her, they would have done it by now. Three of them were very public for quite a while.

" Just be on alert. If you find anything wrong or find their background, report to me immediately." she really wanted to know if these were the same people that were targeting Elise!
