Chapter 1143 Returning to the hideout-3
" You seem to be doing fine despite the snow falling outside. I have to admit, you have guts to still glare at me with such hostile eyes." Samuel slowly walked toward his prey without a care in the world.
He was holding a lot food which would be Clark's supply for few days. At first, Samuel was going to be lenient trying to fatten up the pig for the eventual slaughter.
" You! What did you do to me? I swear, my hands were frozen-"
" It must be your imagination. Do you think anyone would kidnap a person to let them die so easily. Such intimate crimes are mainly done because of personal vendettas."
" Yeah? Why don't you tell me then? Who are you and what do you want from me?" Clark was much more calmer probably because he was feeling much better, better than he ever felt before.
Samuel's healing was directive but for how much damage the other party had sustained, it was crucial for him to heal him to the fullest which included some existing ailments that Clark had accumulated over his years of partying and taking illicit drugs.
" Don't you like to know but it's not right time for me to reveal my identity. What I need from you for now is to stay here and enjoy you little vacation. I got all the food you would need and in that dry corner is the firewood that could last you few days if you used it moderately."
" Since I wouldn't be able to come and check up on you, you are free to move around in you temporary room." Samuel cut off Clark's restraints and walked toward fireplace to put all the essentials he brought along the way.
There was also some warm blankets that were cheap but there were a lot of them. Clark was confused and didn't know what was happening anymore.
During their last encounter, he could feel the other person giving him a deadly vibes whenever he talked and looked at him but now he was like a different man! Enjoy more content from My Virtual Library Empire
Why did he started being so nice to him all of a sudden? He heard it clearly, the voice was same so it didn't make sense for such a drastic change in his personality.
" There is no need to be suspicious. I told you, you will feel and see true hell but before that you have to live. I can't have you dying up on me."
" Just say that you are afraid of the consequences. Are you trying to play some sort of mind games with me? Telling me lies so that I don't suspect that this is a plain kidnapping and you are just in it for the money? Why don't you just tell me how much you want? I promise, I can match your price." Clark stood up dangling his sorr feet. His body felt great so he didn't mind a little pain of sitting all night, even the soreness in his neck was gone.
He spoke confidently seemingly trying to catch the tail that didn't exist. Samuel paused momentarily not knowing what to say.
Did his healing power also affect the mood of a person making them more confident in the face of adversity? Or was he just trying to deceive Samuel to put his guard down so that he could make a chance for his escape.
Either way, he would fail so Samuel didn't bother answering his ridiculous questions.
" Remeber to ration the food and keep adding wood to the fire so that it doesn't go out or else you would have to use the primitive technique of striking stone for ignition." Samuel said his parting words and left before Clark could say anything.
The heavy door slammed loudly before Clark heard the familiar locking after which everything returned to normal.
Samuel did leave him some emergency tools for fire but he didn't say it as he wanted to let Clark experience the true environment of what campers go through when they visit the wild.
He fully expected Clark to find ways to escape. It was predictable but even if he somehow manage to bring down the door, he would be met with a intricate vertical corridor with no end in sight.
Samuel was able to breeze through it using his strong legs but someone like Clark would never be able to pass through dozens upon dozens of foot of mud wall without proper gear.
It was just another psychological attack that he designed for him for his stay while he messed up the Green family outside in his absence.
Clark walked toward the gate trying to peek through it but it was bolted down well enough that not even air passed through it.
He brought a ignited branch to look carefully at the door's structure. He could tell that it wasn't all metal.
At that time, Samuel used whatever he could use to mold the door but all he could find was flimsy pieces of wood and some metal. He made the inside wood and hammered the metal on the outside and used the best material to make the metal latch that kept it shut.
Clark wasn't a expert in these things but even he could tell that the door did sounded different, a mixture of metal and hollow wood.
Instead of trying to break out, he went back to first replenish himself. His stomach was growling and he also had to do something about his morning motion which was humiliating as there was no bathroom in this place.
He was like a animal living in the cage expected to relieve himself on the floor and spew in his own excrement while resting.
Instead of getting angry, he started formulating a plan for their next meeting. For the past two encounters, the masked man always took lead but this time, he was free and could do something about it when visited him again.
Maybe he could lay some traps using wood and see if he have others things he could use to take the man down. Either way, he wasn't someone who would go down without fighting!
What do you think?
