Chapter 1178: Attack!-3

"Are you sure about that?" She turned her voice more sultry to try to intice him, but he was ready.

He barely glanced down for a second before looking straight into her eyes and saying, "I am sure. Miss Dhia could just treat this as a vacation, and in a few days, everything would go back to normal."

For some reason Samuel was proud of himself for remaining so calm. He was a changed man and wouldn’t get swept by another princess’ drama. He already had his hands full with Sybilla, who was using him as an ATM machine!

Meanwhile, Dhia clicked her tongue before leaving his side. She was certain that she would be able to make him open up, but her plan failed. She did see the moment of hesitation in his eye, but it was gone replaced by his corporate face.

It’s not that she had a huge ego about her appearance. She was shorter probably because most people in her country were the same and thin because as a princess, she had to exude a image of elegence and nobility.

But Samuel’s description of her being thin as a paper was wrong, she obviously had curves where she needed to have it and she had a good skin care routine keeping her skin fair and healthy. People often tell her that she had a beautiful and sharp facial features with long hair running up to her hips but she would tie it up in braids to hide their true length.

All in all, she considers herself attractive and in the same league as other girls around him but for some reason there was nothing from his side like he was actively trying to avoid her. It was evident when he didn’t came to greet her when he visited Kate and Bella. She heard all their shennanigans through the floor but that’s beside the point.

When such thoughts clouded her mind, she suddenly felt why she was feeling this way. She shouldn’t even be entertaining such thoughts, knowing how her family would react if they knew she was involved with someone else without their consent. Her fate was sealed, being used as a political pawn somewhere along the line, but now she felt like such a future didn’t suit her in the slightest!

Samuel, who kept digging into his plate of food, noticed her staring at him from afar. He would occasionally lift his head and smile at her, nothing dramatic, keeping the tension low, but for some reason he had a bad feeling about the way she was looking at him.

"I must be going crazy! Maybe the attack did give me a shock!" Dhia also noticed she kept glancing his way and woke herself up from her delusion! He was handsome, but there was no way she could ever fit into his crazy lifestyle.

After a fairly uneventful meal, everyone was exhausted. Adele and Robyn slept for a whole day, but they still felt tired enough that as soon as it was dark outside, they started to get sleepy.

Kate and Bella were already mentally exhausted and after a belly full of food. They also wanted to retire early. Dhia didn’t particularly care as she had a lot on her mind while Samuel wasn’t physically tired, but mentally he was a mess.

Everyone retired early. They slept in the same bed except for Dhia, who took a different room. It wasn’t exactly a secret at this point, so there was no point in hiding things from her. After all, it was normal for them so it became normal for Dhia too.

There was no ’fight’ this time; they just wanted to sleep, so all four girls took their respective positions, holding either his hands or laying their heads on his chest, before falling asleep. Samuel knew they were tired, so he also tried to fall asleep, but there was so much on his mind that made him feel uneasy.

Steve and others must have gotten the news by now, but they hadn’t tried to contact him, which was odd. Maybe they were busy helping Daniel prop up the security around the Estate, either way, he let them handle it for now.

Once the news of him being involved was out, all hell would break loose, so he needed to prepare for it. Normal excuses wouldn’t work when dealing with those shrewd old men beside; he was worried how the Queen would react to everything after all their name was connected to the Green family.

It was a shallow connection, but in the eyes of the public, the Greens were recognized by the crown, which meant she would have to act when someone threatened her people. Her secret force might be small, but their capabilities were no less than ghost soldiers.

It would be a pain in ass scenario if she did, in fact, decide to act. There were too many things he needed to do, which made him feel like everything was falling apart all of a sudden. He calmed his mind and, after some more thought, finally dozed off to sleep.

He kept his guard up just in case someone tried to break in still; he believed the forces behind the attack wouldn’t be foolish enough to directly infiltrate the house. They would much rather bring the news back to the Green family, which would be enough for them to get paid.

Boy was he wrong! In the early hours of the morning, he began to hear some noise. The doorknob of the room kept turning like someone was trying to get inside. It triggered a strong reaction from him, as no one would be at the door at this ungodly hour.

He knew something was wrong, so he decided to investigate! There only appeared to be one person outside the door, so he was confident enough to take them down without much noise!
