Chapter 1242 1242: Critical situation
Samuel felt the same heart burning pain knowing that whatever happened yesterday was happening again today.
He didn't know why Talia's life was repeatedly threatened leaving him dumbfounded. Wherever she was sent but be dangerous or she was on a dangerous mission or was pinned down by her enemies, there were too many possibilities and not enough answers to his questions.
He had searched for the whole night and didn't even interacted with anyone and still didn't find anything which made him frustrated.
Another thing was Ellie, she surprisingly got along with Adele and others leaving him with less burden. They tried to get into his office but he wasn't in the mood to entertain them. Seeing his weary and serious demeanor, the girls left him alone on their own accord understanding something must be wrong but they refrained from asking any questions.
"Boss, the queen seemed to intensified her attack. You parents have gone to mitigate the situation as few of Rothschild industries have come under attack, same goes on for your social media sites."
"There are differing atricles discouraging people on baseless rumours but it's adding fuel to the delusion of few who always saw it as a threat ever since their inception." Jane called him and delivered him the lastest about the ongoing struggle.
" I understand. I will try to visit the headquarters to see what I can do. Have you-"
"No boss. I don't think the clue that was given to you is genuine. I looked at everything and went through it with a fine comb, there is nothing in that area. I even contacted the companies in the area, the essential ones asking them on behalf of our investment group. They readily gave me their data regarding their day to day operations and I still wasn't able to find anything abnormal."
"If these was something in the area, they would be using the company's resources but numbers checks out."
" Okay. Leave it for now and focus more on task at hand."
Aft r hanging up the phone he sat down. The pain subsiding with each breath. As Apollo stated, he could tell that she was still alive but now he began to worry if he was doing everything in his power to find Talia.
"I think it's time to end the fued with the royal family. I can't have them messing up with my plan." He stood up determined to meet the Queen again.
He didn't want to use his trump card but he couldn't be wasting time with a small fish like Green when he could be out there searching for Talia.
He dressed up and drove one of the cars in his collection toward the Birmingham Palace. He was keeping tabs on the Queen so he knew where to find her and if there were more royal family members, that would be just cherry in the cake.
Suddenly, Daniel called him asking him what is he going to do.
"I am going to put an end to this. Don't worry uncle, I have already discussed it with the family and they are fine with it. It might leave a bad taste in many people's mouth if they knew I was about to blackmail the most powerful royal family on earth but it's important we finish this fast."
"You have to be ready to mobilize our people as when I am done with this meeting, the Greens would lost their only hope meaning they would try to flee."
"I know. If you can do it, I will make sure they didn't have a route to escape. With how much evidence they have on them, they would be immediately arrested with their properties seized for further verification. I am just wondering what you plan to do with Clark. I heard he was in your custody."
"That bastard will get what he deserved." Samuel said it but now it felt meaningless. Kate and others already knew he was doing this for their sake.
She felt neither hapoy nor sad, he could tell it that what she valued more was to live in the present than to remember her past.
If he went along with his plan, Clark would have one redeeming quality that he gave information to the authorities about his family's illegal businesses. Some people might take it as a sign to reduce his sentence.
Samuel could stay anonymous but since it was already out in the open, he started thinking that the trouble was not worth it.
Rothschild family might become infamous but seeing how much destruction the Green family caused those elite wouldn't be able to point fingers at him without splashing themselves with a aura of doubt. So what they targetted a weaker family, it was justified because rhe Greens were evil.
He began to think that what he was doing was creating more harm than good. Adapting someone else's vengeance when they weren't even remotely interested in revenge would only need to unnecessary bloodshed.
He considered everything driving through the city finally reaching the Palace. He didn't even had to state the reason for his visit before he was whisked away from a senior butler to the restricted section of the palace where Albert was standing ready to greet him.
"I see that you are here for another meeting. I hope this time you don't rile up her majesty too much." He said with a smile shaking Samuel's hand.
The man had rhe uncanny ability to see through people's emotions and could tell something was bothering Samuel.
"It might be worse than before but I promise it's all for the good of the people. Beside, there are some things her majesty should be aware of."
"Is something wrong? You look pale."
"It's nothing. Maybe it's the cold wave that recently gripped the city. Can I go and see her now?"
"No, you will have to wait. She is currently entertain a foreign delegation. It might take an hour so two."
"Then are you here to keep an eye on me?"
"Of course not. You are free to roam around but I suggested you stay put. Many family members are not happy when they learn that you are going against, her majesty's will."
"That's not what scares them. They are scared that someone is breaking away from the established rules but changes are never easy. I did warn the Queen that she need to look into her own house before blaming others but I my concerns fell on deaf ears."
"And who are you to advise what our royal family should do?" Suddenly someone interjected from the side. Samuel knew he was there and he wanted the person to hear what he had to say.
"Good morning, your highness." Albert bow down and greeted the individual as soon as he saw him.
"Isn't it Prince Williams? I didn't know you like to eavesdrop on your guest."
"Maybe it was not me but the person who spoke loud enough to get my attention. It's not polite to bad mouth the host especially when you have come here to seek audiance with the Queen."
"Grandma and I have a very good relation. I don't think she would mind my childish way." Samuel said with a chuckle putting up his noble mask whenever he had to deal with such hypocrites.
"Well, we never met but I believe I attended your birthday when you were adopted in the Rothschild family. You have made quite a name for yourself but more than that your success has breed some peculiar traits that are unbecoming of your unique status."
"I don't what your highness is referring to. I always considered myself as most humble normal person in the family."
"Why don't I see that then? Your recent involvement is... concerning to say the least. People should know their boundaries and not act on impluse but you will soon realise your repeated mistakes. There are things that shouldn't be touched and my mother is especially protective when it comes to her people."
"Her people? As far as I know, those scums spend more time with certain members of the royal family and she just followed her their recommendations not even caring about their existence until someone urged her to do something. It's almost like someone feels threatened about getting exposed." Samuel chuckled but his eyes betrayed his light hearted tone.
William squinted fully understand what the little punk was trying to do but he was older and wise unlike some upstart who doesn't know his place. He smiled and asked Albert to take care of the guest before parting ways.
"Do you have to antagonise everyone like this?" Albert asked seeing Prince left with fury in his eyes. As the eldest son of the family, he maintained a clean image unlike his reckless younger brother.
He 'supported' his wife and their children were a great propaganda material as he waited for his turn to ascend the throne but the Queen and King were in good health, meaning it was not happening anytime soon.
Maybe that's why be began to associate and olay politics behind the scenes, leveraging his Prince status to increase him power within the elites.
"As I said, I am not here to play. Things might get more complicated." He waited with Albert changing the subject talking about different things.
If they were not standing on opposite sideof the isle, he might consider Albert as his good friend despite their age difference. The middle aged man had a unique vision the kind that was fit to be a leader.
What do you think?
