Chapter 1255: Rendezvous-2

"It really is windy." Samuel hurdled through air like a rocket diving through clouds that obscured his vision.

It was hard for him to get a sense of direction but his mind was working rapidly trying to keep his body at the desired angle. Any shift in it due to winds would be adjusted by him twisting certain parts of his body.

After a minute, he was out of the cloud but the wind picked up even more throwing him away from his landing zone. He could see the shape of the mountain below to get the sense of where he needed to go.

He decided to use his elemental magic to propell himself forward making his glide smoother just angling his decent into a cone to gain more momentum.

Finally after his watch started beeping, he deployed the parachute watching closely for any signs of people below. The wind was favorable moving them toward his destination as he slowly descended down in broad daylight.

His only worry was people of the base monitering the sky. Although, it was hard for him to visible this far up, he knew they had some impressive technology that might be able to detect object as small as humans in the open sky.

When he got to close range, he activated his life force in all directions to it's maximum capability which now spaned many kilometers in distance.

It was only then he realised that the lonely mountain that seemed harmless from the outside was holding such a large secret. He could feel hundreds of life signatures moving around but what shocked him was he was just looking t the surface.

As he got closer structures below the surface began to reveal itself. By the time he was on the ground landing on the top of canopy of trees, he could 'see' that it went down to atleast ten levels, maybe even more.

Such a mega structure was built into the mountain without anyone noticing it must have taken quite a substantial amount of resources, something that was hard to imagine not to mention the time it must have took to build the whole thing must be in decades, maybe even more.

He was ready to jump into action to rescue Talia but it seemed like he would have to use his brains for the rescue not brute force.

Fortunately, he had someone on the inside which could feed him information, with his power, he could dig hundreds of meters into the ground to appear at some non descript area making it easier for him to blend in. After all the bigger the place, the easier for him to keep himself hidden.

His mind was reeling with different plans. His first objective was to ensure Talia's safety but he also wanted to know who or what was hurting her. Without the full picture it was hard for him to set his sight on the people who were responsible for her pain.

Secondly, he needed to make sure that this was not a elaborate trap set for him by the Vishkanya. They might have two objectives, one was to get him away from the Estate for another attack but the chances of that happening was low.

Daniel was already reverse engineering the tech they plundered from the previous team. If they used the same tactics, he was confident Daniel would be able to hold his own. They already were well aware of the poison and dangers associated with it.

Their other objective could be to bring him here for retribution after all, he thwarted their plans couple of times and even embarrassed him. Maybe they new from his previous deeds, he never moved with heavy security. It would be easier for them to overwhelm him with their superior numbers and the advantage of their home terrain.

In both cases, he was confident in prevailing. It didn't matter how many came or what weapons they used. But there was one issue that was very disadvantageous to him when facing the enemy.

If the informant could help he was sure he wouldn't need to fear anything.

He waited at the rendezvous point for few minutes before he felt someone's presence. They were few hundred meters away from him, right in the direction of the base of the mountain. There were five in total but few more came out but they soon parted with only one heading his way.

He wanted to leap onto a tree and wait but he soon dismissed that idea. He wanted to appear as non threatening as possible to avoid spooking the other party. He could clearly feel their presence so there was no need for him to fear anything.

He didn't know if the other person was man or a woman or what they looked like but through their graceful movements, he was leaning toward a woman. The other party was using the dense forest as cover always keeping themselves hidden from a certain direction, the direction in which he was standing at.

He smiled thinking, the other party seemed to be highly trained. The speed and agility was unmatched to anyone he faced before. Even the enhanced soldiers he faced during the Paris encounter when Elise was kidnapped didn't come close to the other person's prowess.

He could only guess, the other party must be a high ranking member or it wouldn't make sense. He had faced their kind before, the second elder was the only one that could barely surpass this individual and she proclaimed herself to be one of the five elders of the clan.

After few minutes, when he was just about to 'see' them approach from the other side, the person suddenly changed direction, moving away for a split second. It was clear, they didn't want to reveal themselves too early.

They began to circle around him probably checking for his companions but he didn't brought anyone else with him. After confirming, he was alone they slowly moved to his back approaching him like a predator.

He might be alarmed but feeling no ill will from the other party he didn't put up any defenses. He also didn't want to reveal his magic shields early in case the fight really broke out.

When they were few meters away from him, they suddenly pounce on him tackling him to the ground. He appeared helpless at first but when he looked at the other party, he was shocked because he had met her before! Although, she was quite different at that time but he was someone who could never forget a face even if he wanted to because of his superior memory.
